Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I guess I don't really mind it. Donuts are so easy to get now that they have to do something to mix it up. I don't NEED any of those characters, so if I were to make a real-money purchase (which I probably won't), it would just be throwing a bone to EA for continuing to support the game.

There's also the mystery prize thing, with donut expenditures earning points toward mystery gifts. I don't really mind this either, though it probably won't make me buy something I don't already want. It's just getting an extra bonus.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I turned on the XP Collier and worked up to two donuts short of the Parson, so I bought a tiny, tiny donut pack and got him.

On track for this round's final prize, no sweat.

As for this new donut/character scheme, whatever. I've dropped maybe $50 over the last few years on a game I play every day, much of that on gift cards, and I just don't see me dropping another $50 all at once.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Got the last prize, Maggie star costume, yesterday. I also finished the tasks related to that costume. Trying to level the elf to level 15 (I'm at 14), not sure why, and trying to get the other last Level 10 prize.

I forgot about the mystery prize thing, I think I saw a message that I had enough cash to get one of them. Oh and I guess that's the reason why I need to keep upgrading my elf.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I forgot to complain about something else...

I have Martin Ice Princess costume, it was free or something like that a few years ago. Now I have a pending task, The Princess Nerd Pt.2 where I need to buy the Ice Palace! It costs donuts of course. WTF!

Hopefully they patch that in the future, because my OCD can't handle having that pending task.

I think I might've gotten the costume for this event, but either way I have that pending task as well. I actually wouldn't mind having the castle, but it looks like it takes up a ton of space.

I might get the elf home and rubber baby buggy bumpers because TSTO Addicts said those were good buys regardless of the bonus gifts.

Another annoyance is that I have way too many chicken fingers to trade in. I ended up with the same kind of imbalance in the first act, so this time I tried to choose only trades to maximize my use of chicken, but I still run out of the other things and am left with a lot of chicken.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Yeah, same here, but I have a lot of bread.

In the previos act I had more than 1K of one item, and less than 100 of the other.

So, I leveled up the gnome. I got the last craft item, Dunk the Monk. I've hit the extra donuts several times too. But now I'm trying to get a Mystery Prize. I'm at 1945 currency. In 1.5 hours I can play the gnome game again and get 50 tickets. So I expect later tonight to hit 2000 and get one of those items, that are supposed to cost 100 donuts.

When is the new event supposed to start? Next week? or tomorrow?

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I ended up getting the elf home and rubber baby buggy bumpers, earning enough for the 2000 prize, which turned out to be Krusty's daughter, which is cool. I was also able to start that quest right away since I don't need Krusty to produce more chicken fingers.

The mystery gifts are supposed to last four days past the event, which makes me think the new event won't be till after then, but I'm just speculating.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

A few days ago on the EA forums there was a post about a minievent called Heretic Homer (Ithink). It looked like it was based around the episode where Homer decides to stop going to church. So I guess that's next.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

There was a task for the new year, with Grandpa. But no prize, I thought I saw something, but then I couldn't find it anywhere.

I think tonight I will send Homer to eat donuts for one day and a half.

I heard it was a New Year ball, but you only got it if you didn't already have one.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

There was no prize.

They did the same for the first act. I mean, everyone thought there was one final prize, that's the way the icon looked like.

I guess they decided to take a break over the holidays, nothing new for the beginning of the year.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Yeah, it looked like a gold prize but it was nothing.

I cashed in some more gift cash and got the bear cave--meh. I have 350 left, and the only other gifts I can get are Victor's Secret (a Christmas shop) for 1500 or the North Pole Station or Slide Factory for 2000. I don't need any of those things so I'll probably skip them unless I decide I really want the ice palace or something.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I got Brother Faith--110 donuts for a character and 3% multiplier (even without a building) seemed reasonable.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I went for it at the top of the event, too.

Anyone else have Ice Princess Martin's task lingering? I'm not buying that frickin' ice castle.

Yes, and I have no clue how to eliminate it.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I admit I bought the ice castle, therefore rewarding EA's bad behavior.

Long story short, but I wanted one of the bonus items, and had enough donuts for the final cost, but not enough for the initial purchase before rebate. So I charged the XP collider and got the castle and Duff Arena (I think that was the pair--my math may not be totally accurate) and got the North Pole monorail station as a bonus. I was hoping for the slide factory but whatever.

Yes, I mentioned this before.

I'm sure a lot of people are complaining online about it. Not sure if there's a workaround, from the EA side, to remove that.

I'm hoping it goes away once they get rid of the Christmas theming, which I assume will be shortly after the Homer the Heretic mini event ends.

I'm back in the cycle of downloading updates every time I play, but they still can't get rid of the ice castle task?

I am expecting the Ice Castle task to be taken down when EA issues it's next update. That will happen either Tuesday (tomorrow) morning, or next Tuesday morning.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I finished the heretic event, and there's still nine days to go! I hope that means everyone has the chance to finish, even if they didn't get Brother Faith. The final building is worth getting.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I finished The Heretic event last night too.

Time to get some millions and more XP.

I can probably hit 1000 donuts by next week

Wow, what is that like? So how do you go about it? What's your cash to rat trap truck threshold to make a go of the XP Collider?
