Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
I'm doing nice all the time.
Also, I just learned last night that there were consequences to doing graffiti when visiting neighbors. So my apologies to anyone I might have done that to beforehand. Won't anymore.

Some people seem to be anti-graffiti in the game, but there aren't really consequences. Their righteousness rating can drop, but it goes up and then some once they clear it away. Plus, if you hide enough training walls behind buildings, the rating is unlikely to drop.

Graffiti is one of those many things that really aren't explained in the game. You have to find out elsewhere. I did a lot of graffiti when I was starting out because it seemed more fun. I agree that it doesn't really have much consequence for those of us who have been playing for a while, but if you're new and don't have a lot of training walls, your ratings may fluctuate more from it.
Tons of stuff to do, but it doesn't appear there are many character tasks that generate hats other than the ones attached to the snowman quest? There are the merrymakers, of course, and the Wooly Bully.
I'm still trying to get the monorail donuts so things are a little complicated.

It's a good idea to go into the redecorating mode and make your buildings invisible from time to time. I've dropped some presents that went way off course and disappeared behind something.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
Since I haven't done one of these holiday events before, does Act 1 stuff stay open even when Act Two goes live? Just not sure if I'll get enough hats to get Patches and Poor Violet in the next few days.

Nope. Act 1 closes the moment Act 2 begins. There is a timer at the bottom of the Act 1 menu where you can see how much time it has before it closes.

I thought we were supposed to get them when tapping on the merry makers in neighborhoods, but that's not happening for me.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
If it helps, here's a calendar of how many hats you need each day in order to get all the prizes:
http://tstoaddicts.com/2015/12/09/ch...endar-act-one/
If history is any indication, the hats will go away after Act 1 and be replaced with a new currency, but the bows and ornaments will remain so you'll be able to continue to craft throughout the event. They'll probably add new things to craft for Acts 2 and 3 as well (but keep the old); again, this is based on how they've done the last few events.

The biggest sources are tapping them in your own town as often as you can and doing the projects (like the snowman). Each person on the project earns hats. Each level completed earns hats.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
Thanks for the input. Based on that calendar, maybe I will make it all the way. And I did see today how the merry makers dropped hats for the first 10-15 neighbors.
I haven't unlocked Ralph yet and need him to complete one of the quests. Hopefully it sticks around until I've unlocked him.

Been away most of the year. Missed you here but not in your Springfields, of course. I'm enjoying this event. They're finally spreading out who does what, at least a little more than in other events this year.
Also, can I say it never entered my mind in a million years that I would be #1 at something among my friends group and here I am as #1 for Springfield Heights! (At least, in my circle of friends...)
Looks like I owe a lot of update to the OP so I'll see when I can get that cleaned up. If you started playing this year and you want me to update you on the OP, let me know.
Glad to be back, fellow tappers.

I'm about 4,000 Santa hats away from the orphans. I'm hoping I can get it all wrapped up tomorrow. If I can finish the gingerbread house (I'm one mission away from finishing level four), that will help.

I'm at 27705 of 28850 for the final prize (and I just completed the gingerbread house). Fingers crossed. It's gonna be close.

Lately the simpsons items seem pretty lame. The items you get with the family guy game are much more intreating (over there I own robocop and a terminator) but with such limited space and worthless primary currency and a tendency to forever let characters languish after you buy them it is as well loosing its interest.
Seems like I do both now just out of habit.
Anyone else?

Hey, story is back!
Finishing the quest elements is a big boost in hats. Without them, the first bonus is 4K hats, and I have 1.5 now. I'll see if I can make it.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
Yikes, I didn't realize today is the last day. I don't know if I'm going to get there. I'm only at 23,076 out of 28,850. Not sure how I got behind, feel like I tap quite a bit. Maybe I can get the spread down enough that I wouldn't mind the donut cost.
If anyone can drop gifts in my town, I'd appreciate.

The nice thing about working on the Santa hat bonus is that the Do It button takes you straight to the merrymakers in your town. I'm only at 2.6K now so I don't think I'm going to get there.

Wow. A lot of buildings this act. I was really hoping that Claus co. Would show up as a purchasable building. I started this right after that event. I've always wanted that thing for some reason...

I'm pissed that they took away some of the crafting items without notice, like the Ski Lodge. I was saving for that one and they took it after the second part kicked off. The timer never said anything about the crafting items having a limited time.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
That is odd. Last time the items stayed the same throughout and they just added some.
But this time, make sure you get the Slightly Irregular tree item. It gives 160 mistletoe every 4 hours so that will help with act 2 event currency.
