Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

i think i'm saving my gift bags. reportedly on christmas they are going to be worth double value to your neighbors after you drop them. this way, i'll save up enough to give everyone 5.

Just upgraded my phone and restored the itunes profile from my previous phone. However, I still have to download 262 MB of updates.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Is anyone doing Squidport tiles anymore? I can understand why no one is tapping them, for want of GC, but I hardly see any towns with them at the moment.

I "cashed in" all the ones I had stockpiled before the Christmas update, and then it said I had reached capacity and couldn't build any more.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I confirmed yesterday that the tile trick still works, at least when visiting friends.

I may leave my tile when it's ready. But I don't expect too many taps until next week, when most people will be done with the Christmas quest.

The first thing I did after the update was start a new tile. While I have more tiles than I can really use, each handshake is worth a bunch of XP. Also, if they start releasing more Squidport buildings, I'll have tiles ready to go.

If I notice a tile in another town, I'll tap it once.

I just got a coin from a gift bag. I didn't even know that was possible.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I got Mr. Plow from the Wheel this morning.... which was nice because I didn't have that Homer alternate before. My other two wins, that weren't money, were Christmas Krabapple Apts and Christmas Milhouse home.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I got Mr Plow as well, along with a couple snowmen, one of which was Bart with bonus points so I'm OK with it. While the buildings are my main interest, I have a strange desire to get the abominable snowman as well, even though I'm sure he does nothing.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I can't tell from looking at the wheel.. Are all the buildings just Christmas versions of existing buildings? Or is there a building that was premium or limited release before?

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I had also opened a new case for the Christmas wheel thing.. After it was closed the first time without any real resolution, I was going to let it go as I thought it was just a Christmas decoration for an existing building. But, after I looked again and at the prize list, it was the Helter Shelter building.. Which would be nice as I don't have that building.. So, I'm waiting to see what they will do this time.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I keep finding myself unable to find time to tap more than once, if even once, per day this week. It's been frustrating but that's the way it goes sometimes. Thanks to all who have been leaving gift bags. Are there any of you who definitely need some or others who don't? Some of you look like you have everything already. Perhaps we should mark that on the OP?

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I'm going to move my gift tree close to the boardwalk in case anyone is tapping tiles.

Also I notce that some towns are nearly impossible to find gc's or anything else for that matter yet
Towns like Kenbuzz have a gc's on nearly every building in town

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I suppose it depends on whether people are tapping on their own buildings at a regular rate or not. If they are, or have recently when you visit, then no GCs.

I got the Helter Shelter building, homeless shelter. Looks like other new buildings as well.

Yeah, in those cases I try to look for the Simpsons house. That always has GCs, and the houses near it. And most of the time they are up north. I think most people don't move the Simpsons house from its original location.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Can multiple people tap the Christmas tree when it has a gift card? It seems to yield a lot once someone has tapped on it.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I moved my tree next to the squidport too as I have a tile up. Most people still seem to be clicking the gift cards, which is understandable as that's what some want to focus on for now. I always check squidport in my neighbours town to see if they have a tile; I figure the XP is worth way more than a few gift cards I lose. Since I play several times a day, I try to space out my visits and only click once per visit to give my neighbour the best chance d getting multiple tiles. It seems to work well since most people are playing more often right now. Whotony and Canis Firebrand, I'll click yours for sure.

The wheel gave me the Christmas skin for the Skinner home.

Yeah, people who are tapping regularly don't give visitors as many chances, but I much prefer visiting a town where someone is actively playing than a ghost town with lots of GCs and every character wandering around aimlessly. (As mentioned earlier, tapping on a building and seeing another player's name come up means that the owner of the town hasn't tapped in the meantime.)

I just visited whotony, and there was so little to tap that I had to back out and come back in to hit the Simpsons home again.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I've been goofing around with my town.

Got rid of almost all the streets except for one long one.

Early on I scattered a few brown houses around town, in part to build up the indolence rating, but mostly to try to ensure that visitors always had somewhere to tap. I rarely tap any unless they have handshakes on them.
