re: Xbox One: We said WHAT at E3??
on the flip side, many people have thursday/friday and the weekend off, and can cram in a long gaming session with their new machine. :D

re: Xbox One: We said WHAT at E3??
I expect the XO will get released the weekend of the 1st or 8th. In an ideal world, the console sells out during its launch weekend and gives Microsoft plenty of time to get more consoles moved into place for Black Friday.
Releasing it the week of Thanksgiving is suicide... which wouldn't be too much of a stretch considering this is Microsoft we're discussing. |
re: Xbox One: We said WHAT at E3??
My guess is November 5th, with the PS4 to follow a week or two later.

Thanksgiving week won't happen, and if MS picks the week before, then they'd force Sony to launch first. I said in the PS4 thread I think MS should get out there and announce the Nov. 3rd date (1st-5th dates). Then if Sony wants to get out first they'll have to pick October. My guess is that they'd just let MS have their party and take the week after that for their launch. |
re: Xbox One: We said WHAT at E3??
MS - should launch 10/29 - 11/08
Sony - should launch 11/12/13 |
re: Xbox One: We said WHAT at E3??
No way PS4 shows up second. Lesson learned last gen, even if it's only days this time out. Rumblings are they are even eying late October.
Xbox - 11/15 360 - 11/22 I say MS sticks with that same time frame, 11/12 or 11/19. |

Rumblings are coming from your ass! :nopanic:

re: Xbox One: We said WHAT at E3??
I think it would be extremely awesome if they both launched on the same day.
Save me a trip and I could hook them both up at the same time! :rock2: http://dicktersbedpan.files.wordpres...-3_k8g9425.jpg |

re: Xbox One: We said WHAT at E3??
If Sony and Microsoft both knew better, both consoles would be out by October 25th.

re: Xbox One: We said WHAT at E3??
It might just be me, but I don't think it will matter much at this point when the launches are. People buying a PS4 seem to have made up their mind, so even if the Xbox One launches first I think anyone that might still be on the fence is going to wait for the PS4 to come out. Vice versa, not so much.

I'm sure you'll still see lots of camping out at Targets, Wal-Marts, K-Marts, Meijers, etc. I doubt they sold the entire launch allotment for pre-orders. That gives them launch day buzz and free press on the news. Having a free day/week of buzz all to themselves is important.

re: Xbox One: We said WHAT at E3??
From a totally legit website and a lengthy forum thread on NeoGAF...
http://www.handytips.info/1372/micro...t-press-event/ Microsoft will ‘reintroduce’ the Xbox One in a live press event that is intended as a fresh start in their relationship with the media and consumers. They will directly address the concerns about the Xbox One and start generating positive momentum in time for the November launch. According to an inside source after the E3 conference there was a massive and frantic ‘internal review’ of every aspect of the Xbox One compared to Sony’s direction with PlayStation. The 24 hour check-in and disc-DRM policy was reversed to prevent the negative press becoming so widespread that it damaged the Xbox brand. Every other criticism has also been examined to see if it can be improved. Multiple changes have been made and Microsoft feel confident in a product they know the public will respond well to. There have been discussions about creating price parity between Xbox One and PlayStation 4 by reducing the Xbox One price to $399/€399. Conversation has centred on bigger losses per unit sold versus loss of sales traction. Microsoft will make public their plans for Gamescom later this week. It’s expected they will be hosting a press event presented by Phil Spencer, the vice president of Microsoft Game Studios and Phil Harrison, the corporate vice president of Interactive Entertainment. |

http://www.handytips.info/1372/micro...t-press-event/ I haven't counted them out of the running just yet, they seem sincere about wanting to right their wrongs and own up. |
re: Xbox One: We said WHAT at E3??
Yeah. The rumors on the reintroduction started circling earlier today.
Microsoft is in a unique position right now. In addition the Xbox One debacle and the recent $900M+ loss on the Surface tablets, they're at the point where they have everything to lose. Companies like Apple, Google, and Samsung have been busting their ass in every arena they're doing battle in. Outside of their cloud and software services, the Xbox 360 has been Microsoft's best selling hardware product and the Xbox One is currently getting slaughtered by Sony. Microsoft could take a $100 hit on the console, keep the Kinect, and still come out ahead if people buy the hardware, software, and services attached. They did the same with the 360 in 2005 and it made them the number two selling game console in North America for the seventh-generation, outselling the PS3 by 20M units. Gamescon will be interesting. If Microsoft plays their cards right, this console war will be something to behold. |
re: Xbox One: We said WHAT at E3??
Microsoft still has a shot, but they need to play their cards right.
|
re: Xbox One: We said WHAT at E3??
If dropping the price to $399 is true, I feel like i'm going to keep my Xbox One pre-order.
|
re: Xbox One: We said WHAT at E3??
I don't think they'll drop to $399 or adjust their price, but they will have a way to compensate (year of Gold free perhaps? Headset included, etc; )
I still think late October should be their target date though traditionally November is go time. |
