Well add this to even more speculation....
'Xbox Event' Website spotted
Microsoft appears to be paving the way to announce the long-rumored Xbox 720. The domain name XboxEvent.com was registered yesterday by U.S. Techs, an event management company that recently rebranded itself Eventcore.
NeoGAF forum users point out that U.S. Techs was also behind past Xbox-related domains and Microsoft's 2013 Hosting Summit. The XboxEvent website does not currently resolve to anything official.

Xbox 720 spec leaker has home raided by FBI, Oz Police
Feb 22, 2013
Australian police, accompanied by a US FBI agent, have raided the home of a man who recently leaked a slew of details about Microsoft's next-generation Xbox console.
Dan Henry, who calls himself "SuperDaE", leaked next-gen Xbox specs and information to gaming site Kotaku earlier this month. Earlier in the week, he tweeted that authorities had raided his home and served him with a warrant, which Henry passed along to another gaming site, The Tech Game. A few days later, The Verge confirmed with West Australian police that the warrant was genuine.
"SuperDaE" last year listed and reportedly sold an Xbox 720 development kit on eBay, which is likely the reason for the raid on Henry's home rather than the leak to Kotaku.
Henry said "7-8" local police officers with the Computer Crime Squad entered his home, accompanied by an FBI agent from the United States. The raid lasted five hours, during which time Henry "was forced to follow [police] around his house as he watched them scavenge everything technology based in his possession," The Tech Game reported.

Thinking about it, I'm more curious about the name than about the actual console. The console, most probably will be something similar to the Xbox 360. The design is almost perfect, they can tweak it a little, but it won't change drastically.
Now the name, I guess they are going for a new theme. "The Xbox 360 name was chosen to imply that the gamer is at the center of the Xbox experience. " (That's from winsupersite.com).
Call it the XES, the Xbox Entertainment System.

I can't imagine it'll actually be 720. Makes people think of 720p and seems dated. Maybe to compete with PS4 they just called it XBOX V.

This is a more in depth profile of the guy. The writer actually had contact with him for a good amount of time.

The first one was just "Xbox" and now it's "XBox 360" so who knows. I'd find it unlikely though that the name "Xbox" will not be in the mix somehow.

Same for the new Xbox, they can't name it Xbox 3 for the same reason, it can't be the Xbox 4 either. So they have to find a new theme. I'm sure the name will be leaked before it's actually announced. I expect to read about it in March.
