I don't get it.

re: Xbox One: This Thread Requires An Always On Internet Connection
I think in others words it'll be another PS4 event where all hype and no substance.

re: Xbox One: This Thread Requires An Always On Internet Connection
Huh? The one PS4 event was a hell of a lot of substance...

Not sure if they may lose money in the mini, again if it's real, but my guess is that Gold will be required, so they could easily be in the green there. Mini= big business for them.

It was kind political substance, they said a lot without actually saying a lot.

re: Xbox One: This Thread Requires An Always On Internet Connection
Can't wait! Xbox360 destroyed the PS3 in terms of...well, everything except BluRay support. As long as this always online thing is false, which it is, I'm good to go! Oh, and achievements have to carry over, but since it looks like PS3 trophies do, I don't see this being an issue.
|
re: Xbox One: This Thread Requires An Always On Internet Connection
Achievements and gamertags have already been integrated into Windows 8, Windows Phones, Games for Windows Live, and even iOS in one case. It is an absolute 100% certainty that they will carry over.

Has Blu-ray support been confirmed or is that just speculation? I would not expect to see that in the new system. I would expect a new high capacity proprietary system (optical or flash based).

re: Xbox One: This Thread Requires An Always On Internet Connection
Nothing has been confirmed, everything is speculation.

re: Xbox One: This Thread Requires An Always On Internet Connection
^ they could always dust off that 51GB 3-layer HD DVD spec again... ;)

Achievements are probably the best idea to be invented in this generation of gaming. Sure, some are the basic finish a level and get a reward type. But many make you play the game in a whole new way. Which expands the gameplay and overall experience. Makes me feel like I get my $60 worth.

re: Xbox One: This Thread Requires An Always On Internet Connection
^^ What he said. If the gamertag and achievements did not carry over, it would probably be more detrimental to the system sales then always online would be.
|
re: Xbox One: This Thread Requires An Always On Internet Connection
I couldn't care less about who sees the volume of my achievements, but I really enjoy working to get as many as I can for the games I get addicted to. Having them carry over, and making it so you can continue to fire 360 achievements on the new system, would be ideal.
