Obviously everyone is waiting for the official announcement to see whats true, but generally rumor after rumor that point to the same thing aren't far off. :shrug:

If only a crazy person from the inside would fly off the handle in a very public and completely unsanctioned manner, then maybe we'd know if there was any validity to the rumors as they stand today. If only...

The 500 bucks is a bit steep, but can probably live with that, as well as the no back-compact (I'll probably wait a while to finish out these generation games with my backlog anyway).
However the always online and no used games is a deal breaker for me. Especially the no used games. I game a lot but I'm not paying 60 (or the anticipated price hike) dollars for games that are so-so.

Wasn't the 360 $500 when it was released? That's how much I paid for my 20gb version.

Actually it was $299 for the basic and $399 for the Premium edition (which included a 20 GB HDD and a remote at launch).

20gb was $399. $299 for core. We don't know how many models are going to be available and if $500 is point of entry.

I bought it about 6 months after release...I think I paid 399 and got a couple games and some xbox live months free. I suppose with inflation 500 is almost comparable, maybe since we're supposedly not living in a recession anymore.

I like how you list 2 things as (still unconfirmed) when realistically all of it is unconfirmed.

The only thing I see being true is that it won't have backwards compatibility (like Sony) because it's using PC architecture. I'm sure Kinect will be provided on all models, but I'm sure you won't be forced to use it. Always online and No used games - highly doubt it. MS will probably offer a $500 model, but they'll probably have a $399 model as well.

Hmm, my phone requires always on service. No service means I can't make a call. My first gen Xbox was always connected as well as this gens. This doesn't seem like a deal breaker to me. For those with shotty Internet service, you are just S.O.L. far as I'm concerned.
