Has any one taken a full fire team to the fan switches at the tower? There are five spots there, and one on the fan. Curious to see what would happen

Every Light item I have gotten has been worse than the ones I have. AFAIK loot drops are not the fastest way to level up (buying from the vendors is). I hope in the next week or two that I can get something from Xur.

Re: Bungie - Destiny

Got my first legendary yesterday from that stupid ass cave, and it was luckily exactly what I would have wanted...a Scout Rifle with an absurd alpha-numeric name that has to be "leet speak" but that I can't decipher.

Re: Bungie - Destiny

Finished the story. Yeah, doesn't make sense. I will probably read the wiki later... one of these days.

Spent a few hours in the cave, sometimes even shooting at it

I may try to start two other characters and level them up using the cave.

So now that I have 100 Crucible points or marks (whatever it is) does that go up as you keep playing Crucible missions or what?

I do need to work on my Vanguard points, though.

Don't you have to shoot enemies for loot to drop? You can't just walk over there and put the controller down and then come back an hour later with a pile of shit stacked up waiting for you to collect, can you?

Re: Bungie - Destiny

nope, you don't need to shoot ... you just need to be within a certain proximity of those shooting and you can collect the loot in the cave

now I wouldn't recommend standing around and not contributing if others are having difficulty containing the acolytes and thrall to the cave

Re: Bungie - Destiny

I'm not sure why I am still playing this but I really can't stop. Went to the loot cave last night and joined a group there to shoot the shit out of it for about 30 minutes or so. I am level 18 and I'm actually wondering if all the noise about the game changing at level 20 is hype or factual. I've enjoyed running with random groups of players. My only issue is the unnecessary length of time if takes to beat the bosses on the group raids.

I'm focused on leveling up my abilities for both subclasses for my Exo Titan. I'm at level 22, and have all light armor. Still getting my kick out of the game because I take it in small doses.

You get 2-3 crucible marks per match in the crucible...you can only earn a max of 100 per week. The week resets tomorrow and you can start earning again. You can have more than 100 at a time, it is just limited to 100 a week in max earnings.

Re: Bungie - Destiny

I'm building up Vanguard and Crucible points as well. Also taking as many bounties as I can turn over quickly. I just got my first Crucible bounty - kill 25 opponents.

Re: Bungie - Destiny

Got my Warlock to level 27 and fully upgraded my legendary sniper rifle. I guess I need to take on the raid soon. I'm curious how they'll handle any level cap changes in expansions or updates.

I'm still finishing the story. But I hit level 20 right before going to bed last night so now I can earn some marks while progressing through the story.

Re: Bungie - Destiny

There's just the one raid, right? And do you have to be in a party/fireteam before going in, or can you go in with randoms?

And are the exotic bounties random? I got one this weekend for the machine gun, which is an okay weapon, but I don't really use it that much.

1 raid at this time and you have to party up
cannot go in and be automatically paired with randoms

I read a little on the Team/Clan who were the first to beat this.....took them nearly 10hrs on Hard difficulty with a six person team...they had around 1600 deaths and 5700 kills. I've seen reports where some are saying it can be beaten in 3-4 hrs but no less than a level 27 should enter

Re: Bungie - Destiny

Yeah, the first group to do the raid took 10 hours. People are now speedrunning it and the fastest time is around 48 minutes.

3 classes. How many more would you need?

Since you can max out both subclasses, you can unlock everything with 3.

Re: Bungie - Destiny

need a couple to be loot mules...

plus if it is a "10 year game" would need to create multiples for each class

They will definitely be adding more classes. I'm sure with every new class they will add another slot. There is really no reason to need more than 1 class per slot. You mention needing "loot mules", but I'm thinking you have hoarding issues.
