Absolutely, and that's not even counting what the PS3 & 360 versions will sell as well. Titanfall's moment seemed to come and go rather quickly, even with positive reviews. So as long as this game doesn't get hammered with negative reviews (and being a Bungie game, I don't expect it to), this game is going to have some long legs.

I still don't know what this game is or why I should care about it.

Same. Other than it's apparently made by the people who made Halo (I think), I don't know jack about what makes it so special.

Re: Bungie - Destiny

The MMO elements are what intrigue me the most as far as character classes, loot, and the world. I've kind of cooled on it over the last few months though.

Re: Bungie - Destiny

Seems like it is a more serious version of borderlands, coupled with mmo stuff.

For what it's worth, Kotaku got to play with it again and they seem to feel like it was more interesting and "alive" then when they were shown the game previously.

Geoff Keighly tweeted that Bungie said this will be 1080p/30fps on Xbox One.

No one is in the alpha? I got the invite and downloaded everything. It was too late to play it so I might give it a shot this weekend.

Re: Bungie - Destiny

A bunch of us in the PS4 thread have it.

The first five minutes, I was pretty skeptical, but it got better and better as I went through the content. I think the first time I ran across a random dude who helped me kill some stuff was when it clicked for me. It reminded me a little bit of playing Journey. We killed some dudes...did a victory dance...and tore off on speeder bikes without saying a word.

Jesus...this is going to be awesome.

And it's gorgeous too.

Re: Bungie - Destiny

When I saw that alpha announcement at the press conference, I thought that was the same code you could get for preordering through Amazon. I know it's a long shot, but if anyone has an extra code they won't be using I would be grateful And to add salt to the wound, I'm actually going to have some gaming time next week since I'm off on vacation

Has anyone heard how much content the beta will have? Somewhere between the Alpha and the full game?

Saw chess for a minute on here. It's fun, but some of these enemies are tough as nails. I need better weapons.

Re: Bungie - Destiny

For those not in the Alpha... It's a damn fun game.

I played the campaign for a bit before moving onto the Tower and then to MP. The campaign is almost a Borderlands rip-off it's so similar, right down to Bounty Boards for side missions. The Tower is basically Sanctuary. It even has storage vaults fo keep your favorite weapons, items & armor. Gotta go here to buy anything which is annoying since you have to sit through a loading screen to get there.

MP plays a bit faster than Halo, but not quite CoD speed which I like. 6v6 is a nice size team for the map sizes.

The score is astounding. The visuals in the campaign are damn good but kinda... average? in MP. It looks good, just nothing that's gonna knock anyone's socks off.

Re: Bungie - Destiny

Interesting approach they have taken to marketing the game. Just over the past couple of weeks everyone was beginning to complain that Bungie hadn't shown enough or shared enough details for a game this close to release and people were !OUTRAGED! about it and it was a sign that the game was surely going to suck balls. Bungie turned it right around by just letting people play the damn thing and now Destiny is Jesus again.

It shows that they have a lot of confidence in the actual product they've made. (It also shows how fickle the internet crowd can be, but that's another topic entirely.)

Re: Bungie - Destiny

Amazon sent me an alpha code for this game for PS4. Since I don't have a PS4, it is worthless to me. Anyone want it? If so, you must be a REGULAR contributor to this forum. Not some random lurker. My judgment as to if you will get it. Just quote my post for it.
