Hadn't happened all week, but just now, I got kicked out of the single player story mission three times already. It's really fucking frustrating - they make it sound like it's your fault too when it's obviously theirs. Anyways, due to such bullshit, I think I'm done with this game for a while.

Yeah, what's up with blaming the customer? I thought that was kinda odd as well. Cocky fuckers.

We beat that fucking level and I'm on level 18 now. I got some better weapons and armor, etc. It took us about 2 hours to beat his ass.

Also, I connected my PS4 through the LAN connection and there have been no more drop outs. In retrospect it really was a pain in the ass having the wifi connection drop - I would also get that banner at the bottom of the screen saying "Contacting Bungie Servers." No more of that shit. I bought a 100ft Cat5 Lan cable for $7.99 on Amazon and a pack of 7mm cable clips and all is well.

have also done all the pre level 20 strikes

I'll tell you what, random server disconnects playing Crucible are going to piss me off

Ha! Just came to complain about the moon strike. Tried for 1.5 hours with ransoms. I was Level 12 and they Level 11. No luck.

I guess I will have to wait. But seriously 2 hours to kill him?

I played it with a couple of randoms when I was around Level 15 I believe. It's a cake walk until you get to the door of the last chamber, then it's a bitch just to get in!

But it didn't take and hour or two, then again we never had to restart a checkpoint. It was stressful, as I was the last man standing at one point for what seemed like an eternity. I couldn't get to my partners to revive them, but I survived long enough for the respawn to kick in and we finished off the beast.

I maxed out my Warlock's first subclass finally. So now I may start a new character. Then again I am at Level 24, so I'm getting close to Raid level. Just need some new fancy gear.

Definitely too low of a level based on when I beat him. Any 3 individuals who can accomplish that I would be very impressed to say the least. Have you been doing bounties to help level yourself up and/or played any crucible matches yet?

We did the moon strike last night, but we were all between level 17 - 19. It was a cake walk at that point. Shortly after that I reached level 20 and started seeing some of the events unlock. So hopefully that will keep us busy for awhile. Maybe it was just a glitch or something, but I did the daily challenge and didn't get any XP or drops while playing. That kinda pissed me off.

So far, this game has been very stingy with XP in my opinion. It seems like I have been a level 8 forever.

It gets better later on but make sure you always have several bounties going. I felt the same way when I had my characters all going early on...where the heck is all the good stuff. You also need to level up the Cryptarch which means you might have to buy some white items. Get and sell the Spinleaf to as it helps build your rep up. And above all else just run and do random missions. That along with some of the bounties will get you going.

Something that has helped me is having all three characters going and handing down the good weapons as I move up. Your glimmer is shared across all your Characters so I'll buy a good gun when I see in the Gunsmith, use it for one character, put it in the stash later so another can use it. Doing the random missions along with bounties with all three has helped me replenish my Glimmer while buying certain items I might need later.

FWIW...three of us did that Moon Strike last night and even with a Level 20, 15 & 15 it was a chore and PITA on that last part. The Real Pain...I died jumping over to get the last chest and didn't get the item and Flashburn didn't get the Bounty for completing the Strike. So at least two of us will need to re-run that mission but I'm not doing it again till I hit Level 17+. It seemed about every enemy in there was a Big Ultra.

Yep, at least. It's a hard as hell level. That's also the regular level - you can also play the STRIKE level version and that one is even harder.

The level 24 versions of the strikes are challenging, but nowhere near impossible. I finished a bunch of them over the weekend.

The weekly heroic strike has modifiers. My team gave up after I'm-not-sure-how-many failures.

Re: Bungie - Destiny

Did the moon strike twice yesterday.

The first was at level 15 or so, and I was with some randoms at about the same level. We were basically pinned in that little entry room where that flying motherfucker with the guardian seeking sperms spawns in constantly. We weren't talking, but the way it worked out, at least one or two of us would hold down that room while the other made kamikaze runs for the cave troll. I don't know how long it took, but it was a while, and no fun was had by anyone as far as I know.

The second was an attempt with my buddy Diecast, where he was the fire team lead

Diecast: "Let's do the moon strike, it says level 12, and I'm level 12."
Frizby: "I did that earlier, and it's going to suck. I strongly suggest you wait until you're at least level 15."
Diecast: "Eh, how bad could it be?"
frizby: "I'll remember you said that."

Suffice it to say that we (along with some poor hapless random) got worked over pretty badly.

The third time was with Diecast and Buzz with both of them in the 15-17 range, and it wasn't too bad. Hell, it was actually kind of fun.

I'm at level 21 now, and I'm rocking mostly blue stuff, and the game is opening up a bit. I also did a couple of heroic "daily challenge" runs to see what that was about. The loot wasn't too bad.

I would classify that as "intense fun". We all died the first time and I didn't know about that Black Sphere spawning in that area of the door. I don't know where everyone was but seemed to work out keeping all the enemies spread out. I was back in the corner behind a pillar and I think you were in front of me. I just kept popping the Ultras off on top and below mostly to keep them away hardly getting much off at the Big Ugly. I'm still pissed about the Chest and sure Diecast is on the Bounty...I forgot to load mine up. Being the Warlock that's the character I'm running with kanjji so I'll do it again with her and hopefully someone else...hint, hint.

I'll get my Titan out this week while she is gone and work on Venus. I think I'll try his sub-class in that support role for the heck of it. Diecast was right...you unlock a sub-class for one character it opens up for your other characters.

Honest question; do you guys think this game has legs? I mean, to keep going where Bungie is planning? I'm personally not going to play it much after seeing all the environments, and will people keep going back to it, like Bungie is planning, after games like the new CoD and Battlefield, and others come out? I kinda don't think so, as the co-op just isn't that compelling for people to keep returning to. Like most online games that aren't WoW (as this isn't anything like an MMO, as there's nothing "massively" about it's mulitplayer) tend to peter out within a year after release.
Thoughts?

@ Buzz,

That's pretty nice about the subclasses, because I really want to try the Defender class on the Titan.

And yeah, I'll run that with you again. But really, if you just want the gold chest, we can just run in there and grab it and then extract to orbit. No real need for the 15-20 minute final battle.

This is what I just posted in the Warframe thread. Seems apt since it's a similar game at face value but also one that I've played regularly for 10+ months.

Having spent enough time in Destiny to get to about level 21, I feel that I can say definitively that Warframe is a better game.
  • More interesting and varied characters
  • More interesting and varied powers
  • Faster, more compelling gameplay, both shooting and movement
  • More varied game types (extermination, survival, defense, capture, rescue, interception, spy, deception, etc.)
  • Deeper, more thought provoking customization with the Mod system
  • Better character customization (colors and accessories)
  • Far better weapon variety and customization
  • Better crafting system
  • Sharper textures, reflection and lighting
  • Less time in loading screens
  • Hell, I even think the lore is more interesting
  • Didn't cost me $90
Don't get me wrong, I'm mostly enjoying my time in Destiny, and the art design is nothing short of amazing, but I really don't think it will hold my attention like Warframe has.

I haven't finished it yet. Level 13, started Venus. But I'm glad I didn't get the season pass. So, no, right now I don't think it has legs for me. Something I can play all year.

And they still need to fix some bugs. Yesterday I couldn't get any matchmaking, for the moon strike or PVP matches. I had to restart everything. There's a bug with the sound too.

But, the more I play the game the more I like it. I think it's a good $60 game. And I could even see myself giving it an 8 score overall.

I'm regretting buying the guardian edition and honestly, regretting buying it digitally at this point. I still plan on finishing up the story but this would have been clear trade-in/ebay fodder if I had a physical copy.

Re: Bungie - Destiny

I'm surprised so many found the moon strike so difficult ... I guess I was maybe leveled up well when I did it and/or had a good support team with me

I found the strike with the 3 smaller bosses (don't remember if it was Venus or Mars) more tedious as it seemed their hit count never went down

I don't care about COD or BF so this game will have legs for me ... though I still will get back to PvZ: GW

has it been answered whether or not the subclasses are more powered up than the default classes or are they just alternative powers with the same power/effect?

They seem to just be alternates. I tried the Sunsinger for the Warlock, and it didn't feel more powerful at all, but it played very differently.
