I don't know if I'll ever get into another destiny game but it was a cool experience to make it all the way through this one...even with the mind numbing repetitiveness but hey, the changes they made for the taken king somewhat made up for it. |
Re: Bungie - Destiny
Hopefully Bungie has something coming out to keep players around with all these big releases coming up
I know i'm not gonna be thinking about Destiny at all once Fallout comes out |
Re: Bungie - Destiny
Xur brought the goods this morning. Graviton Forfeit, Super Cell, Legacy Special Weapons. Started this morning with 300ish coins. Down to one now. Bought 7 Legacy Engrams. Started off with Queensbreaker Bow, then 5 Lord of Wolves. Down to my last 33 coins, bought on last one, got Dregs Promise. Finally completed my year one exotic collection.

Re: Bungie - Destiny
Happy All Hallows Eve Eve everyone! And welcome to the Xur report for Festival Of The Lost Week 1. Xur has brought a few new treats this week, well, at least Taken King new.
Xur is located in center tower this week, next to the crucible quartermaster. On with the deals! http://oi64.tinypic.com/nd0611.jpg For the Titan, it's The Taikonaut helmet. This helmet gives tracking to all rocket launchers, though there is a bug with it that takes tracking away if the launcher already has it. So keep that in mind. Still, cool looking helmet, and the perks are ok outside of the bug. For the Hunter, it's the Graviton Forfeit helmet. This helmet gives your Nightstalker hunter the Shade Step perk, which is the last skill you unlock for the subclass. This allows to to run Keen Scout and still have the evade perk. It's also very cool looking. For the Warlock, it's the Alchemist's Raiment chest. The main perk here is that picking up primary ammo gives you a chance at getting glimmer. Yeah, that's it. Pick up primary ammo, and you possibly get 3-5 Glimmer. Amazing. You also can replenish melee and grenade energy by picking up orbs when your super is full, but that's almost a penalty. Looks kind of cool though. No armor engram this week because... The weapon this week is the Zhalo Supercell. The Supercell has a unique position in Destiny, as it's the only Year 2 primary to have an elemental burn, in this case arc. It's a fun gun, good in both PVE and PVP. If you haven't had luck with engrams and drops, now's your chance! Finally, the Legacy engram this week is for Special Weapons. Normally I'd say Don't buy this, but in this case, you do have a chance at the exotics from Prison Of Elders (Queenbreaker's Bow, Dreg's Promise, Lord Of Wolves) that some of you may have missed out on. Or if you wanted a Pocket Infinity or Invective or even an Ice Breaker. OK, well that's it for this week, stay tuned for the video report, coming up now! <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/yS6YyqiCX2M" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> |
Re: Bungie - Destiny
I still haven't had one exotic drop, so I'll hop on and grab the Alchemist's Raiment chest and Zhalo Supercell. I haven't seen much raid talk, so I guess it's Halo tonight :)

Re: Bungie - Destiny
Decided to try out hard mode
I was 306 light, its really not that bad, got past Warpriest and got a 317 rocket launcher from him, had to leave at Golgoroth cause people kept dying and was taking too long 308 light now with the rocket launcher equipped |
Re: Bungie - Destiny
FYI, Lost to Light is the daily heroic today (11/2). Get your Black Spindles.
|
Re: Bungie - Destiny
argh, wasted 15 minutes zoning in and out of the hall of souls and the starting patrol area. Both places were always empty.
edit: weird, the heroic strike started me off on my own as well. Wtf? |
Re: Bungie - Destiny
The weekly update came out really early today.
https://www.bungie.net/en/News/News?aid=13945 The update is short, but has some good news: Banshee will sell Weapon Parts for Glimmer! This will be coming in the November update. Eris will be taking Wormspore for something... Petra will be taking Etheric Light for something... Those changes will be in the December update. |

Re: Bungie - Destiny
[RANT]Can I just say I'm officially sick of the "no knight" strategy in the hard raid.
The ONLY difference between normal and hard during the Oryx fight is that a red bar knight spawns after you kill your ogre. The knight spawns on the opposite side of the map and takes 2 well placed shots to kill... TWO!!! Why are so many groups opposed to killing these Knights when you have plenty of time and they're so easily disposed of? Every group I've played with that has been adamant about NOT killing the ogres/knights has failed miserably in one way or another. I've wasted more hours than I care to admit with wipe after wipe because someone didn't get to their orb in time because the ogre ended up a mile away, or the runner was killed by the ogres because they're all alive roaming around while he's trying to get the aura, or someone gets killed on the daughter platform because the whole fireteam is up there and every single enemy on the map is shooting at you. Theres so much that can go wrong with that strategy when all those enemies are alive and roaming around. The ogres never end up in the same spot. I've been with 2 groups that were willing to kill the knights, and both times we finished off Oryx in no time at all. I literally just spent 3 hours with a group trying the 'no knight' strategy, we couldn't even get through the second round of ogres without some dumb mistake ruining the run. I suggested we just try killing the ogres (and knights) and run it almost exactly the same as we would if it were normal mode... We cleared it on our second attempt. I understand when hard mode first came out, avoiding the knights was probably the better strategy because people may not have had high enough light to kill everything and needed an alternative strategy to survive. But after a few weeks of running hard mode, most people are now in the 311-315 range... there's no reason any competent player wouldn't be able to kill those knights in a timely manner after they spawn.[/RANT] YMMV of course. It may be super easy if you play with the same group of players all the time, but for me the 'no knight' strategy has been an epic failure with every group I've tried it with. |
Re: Bungie - Destiny
It's that time again, Xur has returned to the tower. That means it's time for the Xur Report, brought to you by SoonerDoc. SoonerDoc, whne you need a Gosh Darnit, you can count on Sooner.
This week, Sooner should be happy as he's going to get a shot at getting a helmet beyond 303. In a bit of eerie foreshadowing, Xur is actually located in front of the big door in North Tower. Unfortunately, a Year 9 Gjallarhorn is not to be found. Here is what he does have: http://oi65.tinypic.com/rr34hj.jpg For the Titan, it's the Helm Of Inmost Light. A somewhat useful item back when Strikers were useful, now it's something of a relic. If you don't have one by now, I'd keep that streak intact. For the Hunter, it's the Celestial Nighthawk helmet. It gives you a 6X Golden Gun shot instead of 3 shots. Cool looking, useful in certain situations. But really, at this point you'd be better off gambling on the engram this week. For the Warlock, it's The Impossible Machines gauntlets. These give you the landfall perk in the Stormcaller skill tree, which is like a mini fist of havoc when using your super. Grab 'em if you missed them in Week 1. The Legacy Engram this week is for Primary Weapons. Chase, it's your chance for that year 1 Hawkmoon ;) No weapon this week, instead we get... The engram this week is for Helmets. Sooner, I hope you get some 310s! And, I have some helpful info on that. I have all of my characters at 312 right now, so I bought a few helmet engrams to try and get all my helmets to 310. Out of 7 engrams, all 7 became 310. The key is to get over 310. 311 should be enough. That's the key to 310 exotics. And that'll do it for the Xur Report this week. Stay tuned for the video version, coming up soon. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/Aw_SioqEv8A" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> |
Re: Bungie - Destiny
That's why he is DA KING !!
Does it make a difference what exotic class item you get depending on what character you turn in the engram on? Does a warlock have a better chance of warlock helmet? |
