Re: Bungie - Destiny
I did not realize you could easily hit iron banner rank 5 on an alt by only playing on Monday. I turned in 5 out of 6 daily bounties and 1 weekly bounty to get to rank 5. I played a total of 6 or 7 games with my Titan. My rng was pretty good as I ended up with a decent amount of loot.
My Warlock got 2 class items and 3 sidearms. My Hunter got the boots. My Titan got the boots and the ship. |

Re: Bungie - Destiny
I know nothing about this game but my 11 year old boy is really into it. He is tired of playing Destiny by himself but doesn't have any local friends to play with. He wants to join a clan to be able to do "raids and missions and stuff."
Are there any dedicated clans for kids his age? Any way to find out that info? I would rather him play with other kids and myself being in a Halo clan years ago, I am sure that adults would prefer the same. We just signed him up and linked his account at Bungie. Thanks! Xbox One by the way... |
Re: Bungie - Destiny
I ran the nightfall and got the hunter cloak on my lock. My nightfall reward was however invective #3. Damn you smart loot.

Re: Bungie - Destiny
I remember from a podcast I was listening to that there are a couple of kid groups associated with Dads of Destiny and/or Safe Gamers. Pint size Guardians is the one linked to DoD and the other group is called Kids of Destiny or Kids of Royal Destiny. They have age linits of 11-17.
See if those work |

I'd be a little worried about one associated with the Dads Of Destiny ;)

Re: Bungie - Destiny
Just finished the "Child of the Sun" quest for the sun singer emblem, and this was one of the most frustrating thing I've ever done in this game.

Re: Bungie - Destiny
Weekly update pretty light on any substance this week
good to know they listened about the lack of drops in IB but honestly I think the core issue there was since it was only week 1 with new items they were limited in what could make its debut drops |
Re: Bungie - Destiny
Do raid items go to postmaster?

Re: Bungie - Destiny
OK, so here we go with the Xur Report, brought to you by Year 1 of Destiny. Year 1: back when the drops sucked and you could beat raids in an hour! Oh wait, the drops still stuck and the raid can be beaten in nearly an hour. Not much has changed afterall...
This week Xur brings a surprise with him, a Year 1 item freshly updated for Year 2. Ol' tentacle face himself is located in the lounge this week, way in the back of the Hangar. http://oi58.tinypic.com/xgec5v.jpg For the Titan, it's the Emperyan Bellicose helmet. Ever wanted to float in the air while aiming your gun? Now's your chance? Think that's a good way to get shot? You'd be correct. For the Hunter, it's the Year 2 version of Mask Of The Third Man. Like Bladedancing? Want it to last longer? Here you go. For the Warlock, it's the debut of the Year 2 version of the Skull Of Dire Ahamkara. This helmet did not make the original cut for Year 2, but Xur and the Nine have brought it forward for Year 2 this week. It makes you harder to kill while doing a Nova Bomb, while also improving your siphon capabilities. The second part is a new perk for year 2. The engram this week is for Chests. First time Xur has offered chest engrams in Year 2. Warning: Chest pieces are heavily weighted to Warlocks, so if you expect a Hunter or Titan chest, don't expect much beyond Alpha Lupi. The legacy Engram is for heavy weapons...again. don't buy this. So there we go, Xur brings an exclusive. Interesting. Stay tuned for the video report, coming up next! <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/PswDAOU8oRo" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> |

It's not available to pull out of the Kiosk either, so if you want it you have to spend the coins, and be sure not to dismantle it. |
Re: Bungie - Destiny
With regards to chest engrams being heavily weighted towards Warlocks - Is that from experience (RNG hates you) or is there some actual statistical anomally revealed from somewhere?
I'll be picking up the Warlock and Hunter Helmets along with a few chest engrams. Also interesting that the Skull Of Dire Ahamkara Year 2 version is not able to be pulled out of the kiosk. Has Xur gone rougue? Is he out of control and glitched the system with something that was not intended to be released? |
Re: Bungie - Destiny
I'll pick up a few chest engrams so I can infuse my Hunter's chest armor to get him past 307.

Re: Bungie - Destiny
regardless I'll likely be picking up chest engrams in hope of 310's to use for infusing elsewhere
I believe I already have all the Y2 exotic chests already |

Has Xur gone rougue? Is he out of control and glitched the system with something that was not intended to be released? So out of 6 possible chests, 4 of them are for Warlocks. That being said, whatever class you open it on, the weight is shifted for that class, meaning the odds flip in the favor of getting an Alpha Lupi on a Titan or Hunter. Reddit is full of people and their "6 fucking engrams, 6 fucking Lupi" posts. I bought a bunch of engrams as usual, and I think I only got one Alpha Lupi (opened them all on my Warlock). I now have all 6 at 310 (Praxic Fire was a bitch). As for the Ahamkara helm, I mentioned earlier in the week that old gear had shown up in the Armory recently in Year 2 versions, and some had new perks, like Sunbreakers giving you a second Solar Grenade now. I'm guessing that Xur could be the way that these new items get introduced. It'd be a way to keep Xur's inventory relevant and interesting. |
Re: Bungie - Destiny
Here are the changes(from reddit) from NM to HM. 1st team to clear took a little over an hour.
https://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheG...de_megathread/ Normal vs. Hard mode (Combat deaths are not revivable as per previous hard modes, loot drops confirmed up to 320 light): Initial sequence with dunking orbs: Unchanged. Enemies level 42 Hive ship jumping puzzle part 1: No middle platform checkpoint, so any falls reset to start. Hive ship part 2 (the one with the door and plates): Enemies level 42, otherwise no different. Glyphs and Door: Extra cover on totem plates (something to hide behind). Lvl 42 enemies, yellow-bar knights towards end. Warpriest: Warpriest gains extra attacks (depending on which plate was activated last and/or consumed by Oculus): 3x tracking bolts similar to Taken Hobgoblins if mid, Taken Captain blinding attack if right, Centurion axion darts if left. Aura timer seems similar. Golgoroth's Cellar layout unchanged. Golgoroth: standing in the buff pool gives Unstable Light debuff to 2 random players - damages nearby players when timer hits 0 (could also damage Golgoroth). 1-orb strategy seems feasible but debuffed players need to be aware of their timer. Taken spawn earlier. Golgoroth also shoots out more poison orbs per burst than normal (4-5 vs 3 in normal) at gaze-holder. Piston puzzle unchanged. Daughters: Still have immortality Aura's, random runner, run counter-clockwise, timer starts immediately for 2nd run. Only 3 plates needed, but platforms seem further apart or there may be fewer?. Oryx: Same start sequence with thralls and knights, dedicated runner, run counter-clockwise, only 3 plates needed, fewer/further platforms? Extra knights spawn near platforms in opposite order from ogres (last ogre = 1st knight) and try to detonate bombs early (1 per bomb). After first damage phase do running/circles, Shade of Oryx at 50%. 4 bombs still do ~25% damage. Drops new emblem, kinetic primary (no elementals confirmed yet), helmet. Ship and shader (needs all 4 hard mode armor drops similar to Bone Marrow from normal) are both at kiosks; hard mode ship drop is likely RNG. |
Re: Bungie - Destiny
thanks for the update gold
sounds like the no revives is going to be the biggest challenge .... speaking of, I guess that means the aura holder for the Warpriest must continually kill adds to keep the aura or there won't be enough players to continue on .... good luck with that |
