Alright, so here we go with this week's Xur Report, brought to you by The Tower. Hey Guardians, come back and visit The Tower! Eris is crying her three eyes out as she misses you. The Speaker wants to sell you motes, or just buy your shards. The Gunsmith will reforge your new weapons...and be a cruel bastard in the process. The Craptarch...is still the Craptarch. The Reef is shiny and new, but it doesn't have a glowing purple ball.

Xur has returned to the main Tower, offering an interesting mix of items, including his first House Of Wolves Exotic. But before you spend coins on it, you may want to have your Motes ready. I'll explain below.

Xur is located in center Tower, over by the Crucible Quartermaster. And here's his deals:

For the Titan, it's the Crest Of Alpha Lupi Chest. Good roll.

For the Hunter, it's the Achlyophage Symbiote Helmet. Another good roll.

For the Warlock, it's the new item, Nothing Manacles. These are Void Sunbreakers basically, and give you an extra Scatter Grenade, and adds tracking to them as well. The roll is OK, but I would suggest buying the engram first.

As hinted above, the Engram this week is for Gloves. Each character has a new set of them, meaning you have a 1 in 3 chance of getting a new pair. My results will follow the report.

Telemetries are Scout/Shotgun/Sniper (Pick up the sniper one if you buy the weapon)

The weapon this week is Patience & Time. I believe chess may be happy about that. It's a decent weapon. It dropped for me for the first time earlier this week, which did make me mention that Xur would probably be selling it. So this one is on me.

So there we go. Now we can get into my Mote gambling addiction and see how many engrams it took to get my new stuff.

These are the new Hunter gloves, and while you can't see it there, the bug moves around, making it creepy and cool. The perks are nice, giving you the bladedancers ability to crouch and go invisible, while also making your melees from behind while invisible do 4X the damage.

Engram #4 got me...No Backup Plans.

The new Titan gauntlets. These will deal out area of effect damage if someone melees you. Could be awesome in PVP.

So there we go. 3 new ones out of 5. Not bad.

Took a chance on two engrams since my Hunter already has an exotic helmet.

Got a HoW warlock piece and an old titan piece. Naturally I wouldn't get a hunter gauntlet, let along a new one. At least I have two exotic shards now. I bought Patience and Time as well since I don't have anything above a "rare" sniper rifle.

Sometimes I think RNG isn't so random and purposefully works against you! ;)


EDIT: how do the telemetries work? Do they boost XP gained from bounties? Should I have a bunch of completed bounties to turn in right before I activate it? Or is it just for going out and shooting stuff with the sniper rifle? Do harder targets get you more xp during the 30 minutes? (i.e. should I go to mars instead of earth?)

I'll probably just buy the Warlock gauntlets for my Voidbro and save my motes for chests since I'd like duplicates of some of the Warlock chests. I have two P&Ts, and I might pick up a third. It's a pretty useful gun to have handy.

Otherwise, I'm sitting on 3 Etheric Lights, and weighing options for them. My instinct is to spend them all on Fatebringers, VoCs and Hunger of Crotas and just leave my characters where they are since I'm happy with their builds and the Warlock helmet the only shared armor bit between them.

will probably just buy the Warlock gauntlets and pass on the engram since I almost never run a build using my exotic slot for gauntlets

Tried 4 engrams. Got two dupes (one with a better roll) and 2 Hunter gloves (one is the new one). I don't have a Hunter. ;) Actually, I was thinking of rolling a Hunter as I've slowly been collecting gear for her. Someone talk me in or out of it.

Bought the new Warlock gloves. Bought the Titan Lupi chest as its roll is 25 better than the one I literally just finished maxing. And, I finally have a P&T.

well you know I started out hating this class (2nd class I created) but have grown to appreciate it for certain activities

I actually am finding myself using it more than my Titan lately

since you are running more Crucible now than you have in the past you might want to consider it

I like having the variety of 3 classes .... you obviously know the benefits of having 2 of the same class though

The Hunter is the coolest looking class, so there's that. I do find invisibility very useful in PoE, especially for dismantling mines and being a medic reviving teammates. I haven't used my Hunter much in Crucible but I notice the best Crucible players usually run a Hunter.

Thanks. Hardest part will be giving up the benefits of having 2 of the same class. Plus, I really don't feel like running thru the "awesome" story again. :D

So I have some mission or something that mentions the Trials of Osiris. It sounds like a Crucible thing, but I didn't see anything over there. Is it some limited timed event or something?

it is PvP and runs weekly Friday till Tuesday reset

if you are not a PvP player which I don't believe you are, I suggest staying far away .... unless of course you want to tell me when you are on and figure out how I can get matched up against you

Yeah, I'm not a huge PvP guy. I haven't touched it since Christmas. So the reward isn't worth it then?

if you don't PvP, the chances of you getting a worthwhile reward are none to none
it costs 100 glimmer to enter so it isn't going to hurt if you want to give it a try but keep in mind there is no matchmaking so you need 2 others to go in with

Ah, didn't know about the no matchmaking. That kinda sucks. If the reward isn't worth it, no worries then.

What's up with no no matchmaking on the Nightfalls though? Is that something they are still working on?

The rewards are good. What he meant is you'll get destroyed if you normally don't play PvP.

They added matchmaking to weekly strike. They are not adding it to NFs, Raids, high level PoE, and ToO. I 100% agree with this as there would be too much potential for griefing if it was added.

I kind of understand where they are coming from however LFG is basically the same thing as matchmaking, you just have to do the legwork yourself.
You are still running with a bunch of unknowns.

They added voice chat to the crucible matchmaking, they could do the same for NF so you can talk to the strangers you were matched with (through Bungie matchmaking or LFG).
