You should get stuff out of all the chests after the first one...3 ascendent and/or one item each for normal/hard. I got the Ice Breaker from a chest and got 3 shards with it...not sure which was the normal drop and which was hard, but definitely two drops.

And the checkpoints are contagious, so I can bring you guys in and then swap characters to join you...and vice versa. You could get hard raid checkpoints at the oracles for every character if you wanted.

19K, if you don't happen to run into chess, I also have the same checkpoint, so you can get it from me too.

I still need to do Raid runs with my Warlock and Hunter.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Just do some character swapping right at the beginning so all the characters have checkpoints and then you can run it with all 3 and someone in the group will always have a checkpoint to start again with.

I need a full hard run with my Titan and probably a full normal run with my Hunter...or at least Gatekeeper/Atheon with my Hunter.

Yeah, I'd like to do a full normal with my Hunter, if for nothing else to try the jump puzzle ;) It'd also be nice to get Raid gear for her, as she has none at this point.

I think I could probably handle a full hard with my Warlock at this point, maybe...definitely will do the middle run at least. 114 Light as I wait for Boots and Chest/Gloves.

My Titan is done for the week Raid wise, other than the first chest I suppose. Got the gauntlets to 30, as well as my Armamentarium. So I can now run 2 grenades at 29. 112 Light as I wait for Helmet/Chest.

At this point, the only benefit of doing a Hard for me (since I have the Helm) are double the rewards. It seems to be easier to get a group together to do it on Normal rather than being carried while I'm Level 29 and hoping we can find three 30s.

It went pretty good (for most of us).

Let's see, it was Me, Bus, chess, 19K, and a couple others. We went through the whole Raid on normal, then did a hard run from the Oracles to the Gatekeeper checkpoint.

19K got screwed again, getting nothing but shards and energy. I think chess got the Raid sniper for 5th time.

Someone got a Vision Of Confluence.

I did pretty good. I got the chest armor for my Warlock, and the Hawkmoon Hand Cannon. It's a freaking beast. I thought the Last Word was badass...but the Hawkmoon is just amazing. Hip fire headshots over and over and over again. Plus, it looks badass.

I don't recommend it, but I just managed to solo the Nightfall this week, using a fusion rifle for 90% of it.

I got the Pocket Infinity bounty again, and decided to use the ten Fusions in my vault to get my third Infinity. So that means I needed the 200 Fusion kills in the Nightfall. Fortunately having the Mythoclast and a secondary Fusion made juggling FAR easier.

Still, this strike is a bitch! But once I hit 200, I decided to finish off the boss anyway, and got him!

And here we go with the weekly Xur report...be ready to be disappointed.

Xur is located in South Tower this week, on that spot on the walkway just right of the stairs back to the main tower area.

For the Titan: The Crest Of Alpha Lupi Chest Armor. Hey, at least it's not the Armamentarium again. And it's not bad. Looks nice, has Intellect.
For the Hunter: Mask Of The Third Man Helmet. Coolest looking Hunter Helm, good for bladedancers. I got it last week from the engram.
For the Warlock: Sunbreakers. Again. Oy.

The Weapon this week: Truth Rocket Launcher. Again.
The engram this week: Helmet.

I bought a Green trail Sparrow upgrade to see if I like the improvements. Will buy the engram, even though I can't think of a helmet I really want. Maybe Inmost Light for Titan or Knucklehead for Hunter. Bought the Titan Armor as I didn't have it yet. Also bought the engram, and got the Titan Skullfort Helm, which I already have. Oy. New Skullfort was inferior to the one I already had, so it got scrapped.

Bought a second engram, and Got Mask Of The Third Man, which I already have. But the new one was better, so I dismantled the old one. However, the new one wasn't as good as the one on sale this week, so I broke it down for shards and bought the third man for the third time.

My week:

Nothing interesting from any of the raids this week, normal or hard, except for the helm for my Warlock and a second Ice Breaker, which I can't complain about. Also got a 4th and 5th Praedyth's Revenge, because who needs new guns anyway. I did finish the hard raid with my Titan from the point where we dropped off last night and got a third speeder bike and some shards.

From the Nightfalls, I got a Gallarjorn, and that's not too bad.

And Xur doesn't want any of my 100+ coins. :(

Xur doesn't really have anything I "need" but since I have 70 Rare coins I might go ahead and get that "Mask of the Third Man" helmet for the Hunter since I'm now working on the Bladedancer after finishing the Sundancer. My Titan is all set at Level 30 and I already have Raid gauntlets for the Warlock.

If there is another run on the Raid tonight I'd like to put my name in. Just got in one this week and last night took an extra long dinner break to sit with the wife and just chill watching a show. Came back and the Raid was already going so me & kanji just did rest of Daily and one weekly.

So resident Destiny experts, I have 19 SCs. Do I grab the Sunbreakers for my Warlock or save the coins for next week? I'm currently ranking up the Sunbro. I have the Voidfang Vests (Exotic), purple gloves and boots, and I have 170 VG marks so I can buy a purple helm. Keep in mind I only have 1 char though I am ranking up a Titan (level 7). I'm guessing I should grab the Sunbreakers so when I run Sunbro, I equip those, and when I run Voidwalker, I equip the Voidfang Vest.

Do you have enough Motes of Light to buy the Helmet engram? It's a bit of a gamble, but at the very worst you'd get a useful helmet for a second or third character. Or say you get a Hunter helmet from it, you could break it down for Shards. I'd still pick up a Legendary Helmet as well, so you can swap.

As for the Sunbreakers, I'd suggest passing on them right now. If you could run three characters and thus get at least 27 coins a week, it'd be an easy yes. But for now, your goal should be getting one loadout up to 28, and save the swapping for later. Voidfang is good for both classes as it starts you off with grenade energy. It is slightly more useful for Voidwalkers, but the difference is minimal.

The Sunbreakers are really only useful for Sunsingers, and for only one of their grenades at that. They look cool, but in the end aren't as versatile. I really only bought them so I could get to 30 if I don't get the Raid gloves.

Will save my coins for another week and will buy a Vanguard Legendary Helm. Also, I farmed a lot of Helium and Spirit Bloom yesterday so I will be 28 very soon. Hopefully I have enough Asc Shards to put me over 28 though.

Still rocking a Rare primary! :D Though I'm getting better with my Legendary Fusion-Light/Beware and the Exotic Thunderlord machine gun kicks ass! Chess, you were right, machine guns are better than rockets.

I would work on getting that second character up asap....One character doing Weekly Heroic Level 28 = 9 Rare coins, Two Characters = (18) coins and so-on. When you do the public events and daily alone you stand a good chance of doubling the Energy, Shards and even Motes of Light. Throw in Raid, Nightfall and the Weekly Heroic missions it's even better rewards. And always keep you eye open for the Bounties that you can do while doing other stuff....like getting 30 melee Kills, or 100 Kills without dying or 9000 XP and so-on. Every few Vanguard points can help especially starting with a new character. If you get stuck or need help on the story just to get thru I'll help.

Yeah, you need 23 for the Engram. You could get 4 motes before Xur leaves. Do bounties, and the daily, and anything else that gives you XP, as that'll earn you Motes. Some of my blue engrams turn into Motes. 4 is not out of the question for 2 days.

Asked this of chase when we were playing last night and don't know that we both were 100% certain but do perks stack? I am going to assume yes
ex. my Voidfang Vestments perk is carry additional amo for a heavy weapon and I also have the same perk on my raid boots
am I getting the benefit of both perks when equipping both? .... never really checked to see how it affected the MG or RL amo count

In your case, knowing your earning potential for coins (probably 9-12 per week), I'd skip the sunbreakers and stick with Voidfang...unless you're a big fan of the solar grenade, which I am not. Enemies consistently just move away from it, so I use the Firebolts. Plus the Voidfang looks really good, and you already have put some resources into it.

The only armor you should buy for coins for your Warlock is probably one of the helmets, and the only helmet that's functionally any good is Skull of Dire Ahamkara. But I do love the way Light Beyond Nemesis looks. My rational for that suggestion is that you only get the raid helmet in the hard raid, so your easiest path to 30 right now is with an exotic helmet. As far as switching back and forth, my ultimate plan for my Warlock (if I ever get the raid gloves) is to alternate Voidfang Vestments and Heart of Praxic Fire...so always the chest piece.

You should definitely get a helmet engram from Xur. You only have a 33% chance of getting a Warlock helm, but it's still easily the best use of your motes of light.

Since you have the Voidfang, which I think is a great all-around armor piece, I'd suggest that your next coin purchase should be for a weapon...just not this week.
