But seriously....lets take the G-Horn for an example which happens to be the most coveted weapon in the game. Why couldn't they take some of these new exotic "Blueprints"...find a way to have some of these to upgrade Season 1 versions to Season 2? Or just come out with say a "H-Horn" or something where you get substantial credit for trading the thing in? The "Blueprints" seem to be a good idea to where it could allow more flexibility in upgrading either new or existing weapons...just saying...

I've said it before. many times. I might have played this game more than anybody else here, but don't mistake that for someone who had smoke blown up his ass.

But I'm not so upset of it being left behind. It's the way they did it. Have Xur sell it after 11+ months so everybody could get it, then less than a week later tell them it's not getting upgraded. It's just not the way to do business.

Had they sold it 5 months ago, it wouldn't be that bad. But they waited til right before they're nerfing it and abandoning it. If they don't realize how shitty it is to treat people like that, why the fuck would I give them more money? It's not about the value money has to me, it's about them treating their customers like shit.

Like I said before, I've put more hours in than anyone here. Far more than I probably should. I have every exotic, every raid item, Max Grimoire, a trip to the lighthouse, done pretty much every damn thing in this game. If there is anybody here that should be throwing money at the screen it's me. But I'm leaning toward not buying it.

That should scare people at Bungie, but I really don't think they care. And that just pisses me off more.

Honestly, we should be happy they are bringing anything forward. Going into year one I figured only the character would be carried over from year to year. Anything else is a bonus IMO. Plus, I won't have room for my Ghorn in my heavy slot when I'm too busy carving people up with that sword. :)

I have a feeling you'd stab yourself a few times before that.

No, no, no... horrible jumper is my claim to fame. :p

What I don't understand is the GHorn and FB are primarily PvE weapons so let us have our fun with them in PvE. We are not hurting anyone or ruining anyone's experience. Bungie does not have to balance these weapons for PvP as they are not used in it (unless you are Sooner using a FB while playing IB via remoteplay on a Vita.... ;)). Bungie can always tweak the PvE encounters if they feel it is too easy or not challenging enough.

I'm still on the fence with TTK. Looks like the majority of you are getting it so I'll probably get it too (peer pressure FTW!). Though, $40 is still pricey and with the new job and pending move, I don't know how much time I'll have to play anyway. Plus, my PS4 backlog is growing and it would be nice to play something else for a change.

I still haven't used the Thunderlord since I bought it last time . Oh well, no biggie.

I'm not too bent out of shape about this whole thing. I knew exactly where it was going. You have to be in it for the long haul, and it's a pretty big commitment. Plan on spending a $100 a year for 10 years. So if you enjoy your time with Destiny enough to spend $1,000 on it over the next decade, then more power to you.

The money doesn't bother me as much as the time investment on grinding and other shit that they don't seem to take into account as they move forward with new content. I loved doing the raids with the guys here, and that's mostly the only thing I did, which is why I never had maxed out weapons. Same thing with PoE. If they refuse to give you XP for the main attractions in the game, then they seriously need to take a step back and evaluate what they doing with this game.

Going forward, I'm going to treat this game just like I do with Call of Duty. I'll rent it from the library to check out the new stuff and catch up to see what others are doing. But then I'll move on to other games for the rest of the year.

Alas, no, you won't (not with The Taken King, anyway):

The physical versions of Destiny: The Taken King will contain
• A disc-based copy of Destiny
• Xbox/PSN redeemable codes for the previous Expansions (The Dark Below & House of Wolves)
• Xbox/PSN redeemable code for The Taken King

Oh, well then, I guess they took that into account with others planning on doing the same thing. I guess I'll be skipping it entirely then for now. I'm sure it will show up on some other version of Destiny six months from now.

I am going to guess that they will always release the expansions as digital dlc. They can just repackage all the dlc codes with the original destiny disc once a year. Hell they could even do a new CE each year!

What do you guys do with the legendary weapons that dont have the full upgrade tree(if that's how you describe them?). Stuff like Her Mercy, Benevolence and Spare Change for example. Is there any point in keeping any of these? I find now that I have a bunch of really nice weapons that I hardly use any of them.

Her Benevolence is good in PvP with the right perks (hidden hand, unflinching). Shard the other two especially since you said you have better options. Most of the HoW weapons are trash anyway.

Yeah, I'm not paying $40 for TKK either.

I'd bet the house & farm on that....and God only knows how many times and how many you helped thru the VOG and Crota's End......I far one was much appreciated...

But how they did the G-horn was sort of low...players have been screaming and wondering if and when Xur would sell the darn thing for 8-10 months...then suddenly a miracle happens one weekend only the get thrown under the bus and ran over a few weeks later.

I understand to some point changes but that's been an thorn in my side about the game and kept me away...the unpredictability and toying with the mechanics. On paper the Taken King seems to improve but for how long and until more toying, changing, twisting, dropping, adding etc....It just seems like there were times it was "Two steps forward, one step back" or "One step forward, two steps back". I hope TTK does really well but Bungie's track record has been spotty on the game from the outset.

Re: Bungie - Destiny

It is better to have Ghorned than to not Ghorned at all. I got mine to drop after 9 months of playing 600 plus hours and I've enjoyed my short time with it. They gave everyone a chance to grab one and see first hand why it was so sought after. Truth is, it's too OP. Dragon Strikes are a fucking joke now. I ran a Nexus strike the other night in just over 6 minutes.

Even if they gave you the upgrade option, do people really want to run around with the same shit for ten years? That sounds pretty boring to me.

Re: Bungie - Destiny

Why are people so surprised about the direction Bungie is going with this new content? This is basically Destiny in a nutshell. When the game launched people were pissed because it wasn't the MMO that was advertised. Then they came out with the Dark Below and everyone was pissed because it suddenly made the original content (VoG weapons, etc) irrelevant. Then they came out with HoW and the original content was relevant again, but the new content they added was pretty lackluster. I mean honestly, this game has been letdown after letdown since Day 1. And I actually enjoyed this game, that's just how I feel after reading through this thread.

I know there's a handful of people on here have had fun with it... I definitely did back when I was playing regularly. And I think it's awesome that there's still such a strong core of players here that get together regularly to play. I still like to check this thread and read the weekly updates. But in reality, you all could do that with almost any other game and have just as much fun. I mean Destiny is basically a 3 player game... 6 if you're doing a raid. If the "fun factor" truly lies in the company you're playing with, there are much better games out there where EVERYONE could actually be playing together and not be resigned to just listening in the party chat. It's too bad this community wasn't as active in some of the other games.

I agree with this. To wait that long to sell the Ghorn again then immediately make it significantly less important is kinda crappy.

But Bungie gonna be Bungie

I mentioned this in my Xur thread about Save A Guardian. They seem to be a really great charity and I finally found the video that drew me to them. I really hope you consider donating to the cause.
