Nice! Thanks for joining us. I still have a tiny ways to go for 20, but should finally be there today.

Yea...when you get to "20" everything opens up big time. You want to do whatever it takes on getting your Vanguard up past Level 2 and getting the points. About 130 points will get you two Legendary Armor pcs which will raise your level so you can do the Dailys, Weekly and Vanguard Strikes. More "Light" is your friend. Those along with Bounties and make sure you catch a public event each day will get you moving.

If you need someone to run with you and your friend again I'll do it. I need to work on my Hunter now and since he's above 20 I can bring in weapons I need to level with him. That's the great thing with having 2-3 characters going. You can swap items to level up, move resources and get double-triple of items daily thru the Public Events, Daily and weekly Strikes. I actually had all three going at first but then concentrated on just two...it's paid off.

thanks chess for jumping in and helping put Xyor The Unwed to bed

I figured out why the strike was at level 26
it is the default level you get put into when trying to complete the "A Light In The Dark" Thorn bounty

that last stage would have took way too long solo with all those shielded knights and wizards

^^^ I used that site a few days ago looking for a raid group. I posted my PSN name and had invites to two different groups within literally 60 seconds.

I also like it because it deletes your post after 30 minutes so you don't get spammed with invites after the fact. It's definitely useful for quickly finding raid and nightfall groups if no one is online.

I just found out about that site too, and also received invites almost immediately. Will definitely use it more in the future.

Ran a couple of hours with Garnett Lee today. Was kind of cool to catch him on.

Also tried the hard raid, and holy crap. Everybody really has to have their shit together on that one.

It's the no reviving thing that really makes things difficult.

You can't revive in hard mode? I haven't tried it yet so I don't understand what you mean.

Everybody revives at checkpoints, but there's no reviving each other during the fights. In most cases, if one guy goes down, the whole team might as well just wipe and start over to save time.

In a full crew of 29s, we cruised through getting the first gate open, and we got pretty close to finishing the first part of the templar fight...got half way though the wave with three confluxes.

Pretty uneventful weekend after running the raid x3 on Friday (and getting squat). I did get a Zombie Apocalypse machine gun as a random drop on Saturday, and it's pretty good, so that's something. I think at this point, I could just do my three raids every week and get ready for Xur, because I can't think of anything else I want.

The first Raid I did with randoms was on Hard mode. I was a level 27 at the time I believe, and when we got inside, it fell apart really quick. I went down, and couldn't understand why nobody would revive me. Then I saw that you basically can't. But how is a 27 supposed to really survive with all those Level 30 enemies with one shot kills?

It's one of those things I would have liked to have known what I was getting into before I joined.

FYI, there is also www.destinylfg.COM and a separate iOS app (though the sites seem better than the app).

How does this site work exactly? Do you message the people who are looking from within the site or do you message them via PSN?

My biggest gripe is getting in on dailies sometimes. They should have it the same way with the Vanguard Strikes just launching and hooking with random players. Sometimes I can get with friends and sometimes not since they've already ran them. Yesterday I was lucky enough to run it three times in a row with a friend who hadn't ran it at all with her three characters....with a little help from Chess.

Theres a glitch that basically lets a sunsinger become invincible as long as thier super is fully charged. It involves changing the fireborn to another skill, reviving your self, then changing fireborn back.

Should make the hard raid pretty easy if most of the fireteam is warlocks. Unless you can't revive yourself in the hard raid? I'm pretty sure you can though.

It helps, the hardest part is avoiding taking damage while you are in the skills tree

I used the reddit fireteams site to find a group to do the raid on hard.

The dailies are easy enough on 26 that I only do the 28 if I know I have the extra 5/10 minutes to do it properly.

I got the pocket infinity bounty today. I wish I had stashed a bunch of rare fusion rifles since I did a bunch of strikes today and didn't get a single one (need ten). Wish the gunsmith sold them.

I'm really liking the Suros Regime. Once it's fully upgraded it should be beastly. Still enjoy the Hawkmoon as well. I'm one more upgrade away from having it maxed out. Head shots take many enemies out with one shot.

The gunsemith does sell them, you just have to keep checking. I found them there on the weekend for both my Infinity bounties.

There's also this website: http://isthegunsmithsellingrarefusionrifles.com/

I'm like half way through the Crucible points needed for the Thorn bounty, and I might just give this one up. I'm having no fun at all doing PvP, and I'm not good enough to make much progress per game. On top of that, I don't even like hand cannons that much.

I know it's personal preference, but once it's fully upgraded, is Thorn worth the hassle?

PS4 or One? If you're PS4 you can just stay close to me and help out since assists count as kills.

I'm having the same problem as lopper. I need the 25 kill/death spread but I'm terrible at PVP. I'm okay at capturing objectives and the like, but I get killed a lot. Anybody have any tips on how to cheese through it? I tried googling and all of the tips were "It's easy!" or "Kill more than you get killed!"

musick 10-27-14 11:23 PM

Re: Bungie - Destiny

don't know if it was worth it because I haven't used Thorn yet but it was a bitch

I'm pretty good in Crucible and play as a voidwalker Warlock but it was tough because I never use special weapons in the Crucible ... most of my kills are with my primary AR so I had to try and rack up those needed void kills/assists primarily with my Super and less often used heavy weapon
