Sorry, didn't know which Assassin's Creed thread to put this in.

What is the general consenus on which game was the best in the series?

I tried to play the first one but got burned out fast by the repetitve gameplay (climb buildings/towers, eavesdrop, informants, kill, rinse/repeat). Plus, I wanted to find all those darn flags. Did the subsequent games refine or change the gameplay for the better or at the end of the day is it still the same?

I thought most people enjoyed Brotherhood the most since it improved on a few of the issues that ACII had. It also introduced the assassins that you can train and call upon.

Breakfast with Girls

I've only played I, II, and Brotherhood, but of those three, Brotherhood is the most fun IF you don't care about getting 100% sync and are fine with 50%. If you care about getting 100% sync, II is better. Many of the challenges (required to get 100%) in Brotherhood are infuriating.

I did like the setting of the first game better, though.

Looks more believably in-engine than previous media. It looks cool, although I hope they don't go crazy with spectacle and big action set pieces. I miss the low-key feeling of the first two games.

The setting looks awesome though, and it looks like there will be underwater segments as well, which could be interesting.

That looks totally badass. I hope, unlike the previous game, this delivers on the promise. I also hope they give you the option to ditch the hood by default. It looks incredibly stupid in that time period.
