Cannot wait!
The question is will I buy it day one or hold out for an eventual complete package like what was released for the third?

For those who have yet to pick up the third one, Best Buy currently has it on sale for $9.99.
Edit: PS3 version is $9.99. Xbox is still $39.99.

Re: Saints Row 4
Because I thought 3 was such a shit game....going back and looking at my replies in the saints row 3 thread....I was super pumped for the game before it came out.....after playing through I realized how shitty it was - especially with half (maybe even more) of the missions being activities of all things.
This game is based off an expansion pack - the scope of the city in 3 was so damn jarring as well....example: when you are high above the city it looks tiny then upon moving in closer (via skydiving or whatever) it just expands out of nowhere.
Hey, if you love it no problem.....I think the controls, enemy AI (VERY old school by the way), graphics (plastic land), and them some are terrbile.
That and I'm probably pissed at how shitty 3 turned out after the awesome saints row 2.

I'm genuinely curious as to how they'll handle you becoming President if you play as the British character. Or the zombie.
Also, I hope Burt Reynolds gets a cabinet position.

^^ Wait, that is your reservation? Fighting toilets in the matrix or hulk fisting people to a pulp doesn't bring you out of the "realism" element?

Volition explained to us at PAX East today that Saints Row 4 isn't "Saints Row 3.5" nor the canceled Saints Row: The Third standalone expansion "Enter the Dominatrix" in a different package. The team told us that work began on Saints Row 4 about two months before The Third finished, with another team split to do Dominatrix.
"We had to go in and totally gut the [Dominatrix] story for Saints Row 4. Everything that was the missions or the story we did for Dominatrix was totally thrown out," Steve Jaros, creative director at Volition told us. "All the voice recording that we did all thrown out. We redid the entire story. The game is mission wise the same length as Saints Row 3, plus other open worlds on top of it."
Senior Producer Jim Boone told us that in June last year, shortly after Jason Rubin took on his short-lived role as president at THQ, the agreement was made between Rubin and Volition to combine the games and focus the team on one full project.
"Everyone on the team had the same concern, we didn't want to make a 3.5, we aren't making an expansion pack. What we put out to the world has to be worthy of the name Saints Row 4. I really think everyone on the team will stand behind it," added Jaros. "So much stuff has been changed and thrown out. Even the best of the [Dominatrix] stuff that we liked and pulled into the game we still changed. Nothing was drag and dropped in."
Saints Row 4 will launch on August 20, featuring weapon customization, mechs, a new alien enemy and a... dub-step gun.

Re: Saints Row 4
I saw the 6 or 7 minute pre-recorded gameplay demo at PAX East. It looks awesome. Think of Saint's Row 3 meets Crackdown or Infamous - the new superpowers involve leaping crazy distances, gliding, and so on.

Publisher Deep Silver – new owner of the Volition-developed Saints Row series – has announced that Saints Row 4 is getting a special "Commander in Chief" edition, available for free to everyone who pre-orders the upcoming game.
Earning the special edition content means you'll get a snazzy Uncle Sam outfit, a "Screaming Eagle" jet, and a "'Merica weapon," which boasts flamethrowers, "dub step guns," and rocket launchers.
Saints Row 4 will see the Third Street Saints voted into presidential office on August 20 in North and Latin America, and August 23 in other regions.

I hope Deep Sliver doesn't screw this up like it sounds like the did with the newest Dead Island.

I didn't feel like I was missing anything without the pre-order bonuses for the last game, and this feels like more of the same. I'll wait for a price drop.

Re: Saints Row 4

Saints Row 4's dubstep gun is the star of both the game and its $99.99 Super Dangerous Wub Wub Edition, which publisher Deep Silver announced today.
Available in "limited quantities," the Super Dangerous Wub Wub Edition comes with a 12-inch replica of the dubstep gun from Saints Row 4, complete with a laser sight and wub wub audio. The set also features a Dubstep Doomsday Button so you can take heavy drops on the go, and an 8-inch-tall Johnny Gat Memorial Statue to pay tribute to the fallen member of the Saints.
The package, which fans voted for, also includes the previously announced Commander in Chief Edition, a free upgrade for all pre-order customers that provides them with three in-game items: the 'Merica weapon, Screaming Eagle VTOL jet and Uncle Sam outfit.
Saints Row 4's Super Dangerous Wub Wub Edition will be available alongside the game's North American launch on Aug. 20 and its worldwide launch Aug. 23. In the U.K., it will cost £89.99. Check out our interview with developer Volition for more on Saints Row 4.
