To be fair to the DS4, the rear touch pad on the vita is really intuitive and can be used very well, if the designers integrate it intelligently.

Another way they can do the verification for the streaming PS3 games is going by the trophies list.

PS+ offers a lot, though, more than Xbox Live did. And if this allows then to improve their servers, then I'm okay with it.

I understand that, but I have no need for PS+, so like I said, I'm out. It's much better the way it is now as a premium option.

Great news to wake up to and I just preordered mine from Amazon. It's the complete opposite of 7 years ago, when I was holding out for the PS3 and Sony's E3 switched me over to the 360, which ended up being my primary console by a landslide. While I still love my 360, the companies' different approaches have me wanting to buy ps3 for any final multi platform games that I buy this generation. They deserve to be rewarded as much as possible for listening to their customers.

So to save me the trouble of looking over dozens of pages here, why is it that Sony kicked Microsoft's butt? Used games? Exclusives? Online?

Yeah, I think Sony wins big here. Placed my pre-order even though I was planning to wait out both systems at least a year.
I'm really delighted with Sony embracing the current consumer model; it works very well this generation, so why change it? And the Microsoft one was so restrictive and anti-consumer.

I thought the same of DVDs and Blu-rays in general, but the Vudu app (Home Disc-to-Digital Conversion for Blu/DVD to HDX Stream) seems to be fairly locked down. Also knows if you just rented the fucker, which would be harder on games since I don't think any are rental specific.

True, but they still could have made some reference to the fact that MS is forcing it upon you in order to get the system in the 1st place. Although that point while negative to most here and probably elsewhere would show the fact of where the price difference between the 2 systems is coming from AND actually IMO show the fact that the XO in terms of just the system is actually being offered for less than the PS4(the new Kinect is worth more than $100 IMO). But is would at least still reinforce that Sony is giving us a choice of how much we actually want to spend upfront.
