Yep, I got the same email, though I didn't do the trade-in promo. My setup isn't at all conducive to a wired controller, but I'll probably have to try it out early anyway. Just picked up Puppeteer on sale, so I'll likely see if the DS4 works with it.

Same here regarding the DS4. Mine shipped overnight and I should have it by Wed.

I've played a few more hours of Dead Space 3. A couple of big bosses battles, where your fingers need to be in sync, and yeah, the controller is great.

It would be funny if, with the changes they made to the X1 controller, the DS4 controller ends to be better. Right now, I still prefer my Xbox 360 controller over the DS4.

For the life of me, I can't figure out why MS spent so much to change the form factor of the XB1 controller when the 360 one was more or less ergonomically perfect. I would have made it a priority to keep the exact same design that people liked and put a little bit of money into build quality, d-pad and vibration features. I would also have added an internal lithium battery, but that's just a personal preference.

DS4 needed the complete overhaul, and other than the goofy light, it looks like they nailed it.

When I sent in my gamecube games, I checked the tracking number to see it was delivered. I got an email the day after the package arrived (or maybe 2 after) letting me know that the money had been deposited into my amazon account. Then, the $30 for the Dualshock shows as a separate balance which was automatically applied when I put the DS in my shopping cart.

EDIT: crap, I just noticed it says the PS4 comes with 2 dualshock controllers already.....I thought it only came with 1 which is why i bought the second..still a good deal though.

I think you are just confused by the DS4 bundle which includes a 2nd one.

Honestly I can't tell. They have what is called the "Playstation 4 DS4 Launch Bundle" which comes with two controllers, then they have the PS4 Launch edition.

Not sure if this has been mentioned before, but for some reason they decided to change the type of USB cable to charge your controller.

So for the ones getting a DS4 controller, check that you have a micro USB cable. You should have one if you have bought an electronic in the last couple of years. It seems the industry moved for mini USB to micro around that time.

I noticed that too. If I were only getting one controller, I'd probably make a point to get a 10-15ft micro-USB cable for emergencies.

It does, but it's only 6ft, so it isn't exactly something you could "charge and play" with.

I didn't realize that, but that's cool. Worst case is you sit by an outlet or a laptop and you charge off the same USB cable that you charge your phone with.

Unless you use Apple devices.
