Dance Central was fun.
The workout games had promise.
Kinectimals was adorable.
For me, Kinect either provides things that I am unable to do...

And I am totally hooked on voice commands for things like Netflix and wish my TV and BR player had them as well.
...or things I don't want to do.

Interesting.

At some point, there will be a PS4 bundled with a Vita TV and 2 DS4s for the same price as an Xbone with Kinect. That's an extremely lopsided value proposition.

I didn't think the voice commands would be that important to me. Instead I found out pausing, playing, and shutting down everything via voice to be absurdly handy.

Huh? Not a chance that happens at the same price.

The price is the same now ($400 PS4 + $100 Vita TV). The only difference between the bundle I described and the two separate SKUs as they currently exist is the addition of a DS4.

You really think it's that unlikely?

I'm guessing it's possible that a bundle like that could eventually be priced at around $500, but by that point, the Xbox One will likely have dropped in price as well.

Yup, for Jay G's reasons. I don't think you're going to see a bundle save you $60 on a Dualshock 4 any time soon, at least in the next year or two before we see a price drop.

In most cases, I'd argue that both consoles will have price drops at about the same times/intervals.

I will grant that this could be an exception, but I really don't expect the Xbone to tank. Obviously, they'll sell out through the holidays, and they have Titanfall in the spring and Halo in the fall.

Right, so if the price on the PS4 drops to the point that they can bundle a Vita TV and an extra controller in for $500, the Xbox One will have dropped in price so that it's no longer $500 (probably $400-$450).

You're still comparing the present cost of a PS4 with the future cost for an Xbone.

Even at launch prices, $500 for a PS4, Vita TV and an extra DS4 would only be a $60 savings. That's a very doable bundle.

Why aren't they doing the doable then?

Well, your original post did say "at some point," which I assumed meant "at some point in the future," not "at some point at launch."

Only a $60 savings? That'd be pretty heavily cutting into Sony's profit margin. Why do you think both Sony and MS are giving away free games in some countries? Because pressing a game disc is waaaay cheaper than throwing in an extra controller.

And think about it this way: if Sony can throw in an extra controller at no additional cost, why couldn't MS?

Nice summary of yesterday's conference in Japan...can't imagine what they have in store for TGS:

They're not even pressing discs. I believe the free games are all download codes.

Any chance we get Amazon to match this?

I don't know what Amazon and Sony has going especially bundle wise. The one I'd like to get is the rumored Killzone Bundle with two controllers. I'm also wondering if Sony releases official bundles if we can swap out the unoffical bundle Amazon put together

Even better, since it's cheaper and doesn't dilute the used game market.

If the PS4 sales are bad enough, sure. Is that what you are saying? It needs to get bundled with a Vita TV (Vita, one of Sony's failures) just to sell?

Ok...

Chat with Killzone team lead. I thought it was kind of funny at end.

Answered your own snarky question. Good job.

PS4 won't need help. Vita does.

The Vita TV needs help? I thought it sold out already.

You don't think the Vita TV device on it's own is going to be attractive and help the Vita market?
