Re: When will you get the new Xbox?

Need details on system and launch titles. But most likely more than a year afterwards. Being a father with a little one. Not worth buying a new system and not being able to play

Re: When will you get the new Xbox?

I'm almost sure that a percentage of you saying that are going to wait a few months, will buy it as soon as you start reading the forums, peer pressure is too strong.

But seriously, is there any feature that would make it an instant buy for you?
I hope Microsoft introduce something really special, that makes a lot of people wanting to buy it, instead of just a 360 V2, (Blu-ray, Super Kinect, etc.). I don't talk about graphics, because it's expected to see a big increase in quality.

Re: When will you get the new Xbox?

1. Better have backwards compatibility
2. Better carry over my gamerscore
3. Depends on release games

Another Fallout game as a new console exclusive would probably force me to buy it.

I'll do the same thing I do with every new console: convince myself I don't want/need it right away, then promptly catch a case of gadget lust and try to find one as soon as they're available. Knowing full well this will happen, I have no plans to preorder.

Augmented reality glasses if rumored to be true will make it a day one buy for me.

I've never bought any system day one, first week, first month or first 6 months. That includes PS, PS2, Xbox, N64, Sega Genisis, Atari and current 360.

Sure they'll be some pressure from friends and online buddies but I'm willing to bet those who buy one will hang onto their current 360 knowing full well many won't make the leap for awhile. Prices will come down on systems and games and bargin hunters will pounce. The big thing will be if current games will play or not on the new system. that will be a make or break deal for many at first.

Re: When will you get the new Xbox?

I just PRAY the controllers of today are compatible with tomorrow's system... although I know there's not way that will happen.

Also, it'd be nice if MS could offer different colors or finishes right off the bat. I'd like a nice flat black system - something that blends in with my components. I don't want white or shiny black... but we should have some choices.

Re: When will you get the new Xbox?

Hopefully never. Same with PS4. Im going to stick with this generation for a while. Plenty of games to play, and my play time dwindles as I get older. Plus, I just don't see new consoles making a giant leap this time.

Now I say this until all my friends are playing the latest Call of Duty or something.

Also will wait to see what happens with the hardware - I don't need the headache within the first year of release. Not a fan of the big 360 exclusive IP anyway, so unless they come up with something new that's exclusive, waiting should be no problem for me.

According to that leaked document a while back, I believe this is what's supposed to be included in the new Xbox.

I'm pretty good at resisting the new and shiny. I have never bought a console at launch, and I have no problem waiting for most games to reach $10-$20 (this is much easier on pc).

I'm not sure what Microsoft could do to convince me otherwise, it would have to be much different than graphics power, I don't expect much more than a high end pc.

What is a must for me is transferring xbla content to the new system. I'm not as concerned about pysical backwards compatibility, but the games I have bought on xbla should transfer over to the new system.

Re: When will you get the new Xbox?

With my backlog? Not any time soon. I got a 360 pretty late in the game with a Black Friday deal so that I could play some of the exclusives, but I get way more use out of my PS3.

That said, if Microsoft were to offer Killer Instinct 3 (heck, even arcade ports of KI and KI2) I would buy it in a heartbeat. I realize that there are MAME roms of the arcades out there, but I'm on a Mac now, so I don't know if that would even work. Plus i'm lazy...

Re: When will you get the new Xbox?

Ill wait a while until games I want are out and come down in price... AND I want to see how reliable this one is in comparison to the 360 disaster...

Only reason I have a WiiU so early is it was a gift, though I dont see myself getting many games for it, Im pretty well set with the 4 I have

Realistically? Probably launch if the right media features are available.

Re: When will you get the new Xbox?

If the Video Game industry caves to pressure and The White House to reduce violence in games....probably a long, long time. No-way am I playing a "paintball version" of COD, Halo, Borderlands and above all Gears.

Assuming that it's functionally backwards-compatible with most games, I'll probably hop on it at or around launch.

Either a price drop or a really good bundle. So probably a year.

Re: When will you get the new Xbox?

Even with getting burned by the RROD a few times I'm going to preorder this as soon as can and I'll be ready to pick mine up at midnight on launch day. I'm stunned at amount the 360 has grown and changed over the years and even if I think Kinect has a loooooong way to go before it is useful in games I think Microsoft has done an amazing job at keeping the 360 fresh and interesting.

I just hope the launch games for this system are better than what came out with the 360. At launch I tried to convince myself the games were decent but looking back they really were absolute dog shit.

Condemned, Kameo & CoDII were all solid.

I don't recall Condemed being a launch day title...but I recall it being an early 360 title. If it was a launch title I can say there I did indeed enjoy the hell out of that game.

I recall my buddy being SUPER into Perfect Dark Zero and I played just so he and I could chat but that game had to of cost somebody a job or certainly get someone demoted.

Re: When will you get the new Xbox?

after having my launch 360 Red ring, and then 3 replacements also red ring out of warranty, I will pick up the new xbox, pretty damn close to never.

You people are way too forgiving.

Microsoft replaced my RRODs for free so I have no issues with them.

Re: When will you get the new Xbox?

I also had every single RROD taken care of for no charge. Sony on the other hand sent me a replacement system that was noisy as hell at times and expected me to pay to replace the piss poor system they sent out at refurbished.

Re: When will you get the new Xbox?

at all the scorned RROD buyers sitting on the sidelines. I had 4 or 5 RROD repairs to go through and I'm still there day one. I can't imagine MS pushing out a new system that will cost them another billion in repairs, especially factoring in that this gen has been extended. They've had plenty of time to develop and polish whatever the next console is so that history doesn't repeat itself. I would imagine making sure that doesn't happen again is Priority #1.
