This looks great! Can't believe it's going to be an XBL title.
Comes out 1st Quarter 2013.

Re: State of Decay
Word is that you can recruit any NPC (non-playable characters) and that they all have different capabilities.
This game is probably only going to cost around 15 bucks too.

Thanks for posting...
I hate to say it but it looks better than LFD. The extra moves by the player caught my attention. Almost like Wrestling meets Zombies. Just hope it hits in the early part and not the later of 1stQ....Bioshock infinite, Gears of War, Aliens; Colonial Marines along with Borderlands DLC

I've been waiting for this one for a while now. I was a huge fan of the Day Z mod on PC before it was ruined, and this looks to expand beautifully on that concept in a single player world without assholes to ruin it for you. I'm just hoping it is hard and realistic, like Day Z was. If you haven't played one of these 'zombie apocalypse survival simulations' yet, you're in for a treat. The concept is so much fun, and this game looks like it will have tons to do.

Re: State of Decay
It's still around, just ruined in the sense that it's not really fun without a huge time investment due to poor development decisions (IMO). The game is overrun by griefers - no one wants to team up in game and everyone shoots each other on sight. And there were issues with hacking, serious issues, but I don't know if that's still a problem.
I'm just hoping State of Decay builds a good, actual game around the concept, which is what Day Z lacks in a ridiculous attempt to make it more sim (even though the engine is so marginal for this type of game it lacks support even for melee weapons).

That said, I hate sneaking around in games, so that's a downside for me

"Open World" is a huge turn off for me, but if they manage to let you play through a story intensive version or wander off on your own it'd be cool, a lot to ask but yeah.

Re: State of Decay
You sure about that? GTA, Fallout, Borderlands, etc are open world/sandbox games and their threads get tons of replies. Sure, those are established franchises but you'd think gamers would be aware of this.
By the way, IGN spent 4 hours with the game and posted their thoughts:
4 Hours with State of Decay
Here is the conclusion of the article:
"As my gameplay time was drawing to a close, I was just beginning to be advised about building out areas of the church in order to make our little survivor colony stronger. Though I didn’t get a chance to do this, the developers at Undead Labs hinted at all sorts of things to build, such as an infirmary, a workshop, a kitchen, and even a garden!
If my four hours are any indication, State of Decay is amazingly deep, especially for an Xbox Live Arcade game. The fact I honestly didn’t want to stop playing when my time was up only reinforced this notion. I did run into a few graphical glitches, where zombies would run through walls, and I could see through some of the other characters if I had the camera at the right angle, but the depth of the experience makes those little issues pretty forgivable. At this point, I’m very optimistic about State of Decay’s massive ambition and scope. If this isn’t headlining the annual Summer of Arcade promotion, then Microsoft is doing something wrong."

Re: State of Decay
The "for me" is pretty important there, I just find the whole concept of running around a giant virtual world doing very little to be boring. But yes they are very popular, but it's a new IP, it has a generic title, and the thread just has a title in it, it doesn't say "Zombie Action Sandbox" or anything.
