It won video game of the year at the Spike Awards. Very impressive.

Good to hear. I missed the awards but can't think of a more worthy candidate.

i was a little surprised. with all the love for AC III at the VGA's, i thought for sure that would win, but nice surprise and am picking it up tomorrow from BB. with credits, only paying $9.99 so can't beat that.

Re: The Walking Dead (Telltale Games)

Started playing episode one over the weekend and instantly got frustrated that (on the 360) I couldn't invert the y-axis on the reticule. I'm just so used to "view" being like that from all the flight sim games I grew up with that it's so hard to function otherwise. Does any game honor the profile setting any more?

Not a flight sim.

Re: The Walking Dead (Telltale Games)

No shit. 3rd-person games' camera's aren't flight sims either. That's what this is, only the option isn't there. Why? Because it's designed around a mouse which, for some stupid reason, isn't an option on a specialized Windows machine.

Not a computer either.

In this day and age, not having the option to invert controls is pretty inexcusable. Regardless if the game is a flight sim on a computer or a 3rd person adventure game on a home console.

I'm glad I read this. I was going to pick these up based on the rave reviews and now I know to get it on PC. I play games inverted as well (when using a controller); I'd probably give up on the console version if I bought it and saw that I couldn't switch.

Didn't say or think you were, but thanks for clearing that up... I guess?

Re: The Walking Dead (Telltale Games)

I just placed a quick order at my local Best Buy for in store pick up as soon as I saw that the option was available now, and used a $5 rewards coupon on it as well. You don't even have the option to have it shipped to you anymore. If any of you are interested in this game, even the regular version, I highly recommend picking it up today or at least ASAP. This could be gone quick, and who knows if they print more for something like this. It is said that each Best Buy store is only receiving five copies of the game for each system. Just a heads up.

EDIT:

I just went back to see if I could do in store pick up again, and nope, not available anymore. I can add it to my cart for in store pick up, but unlike last time when It was listed as available for almost every store listed, it is now unavailable at every single store except for one (including the one I put my order in at). This applies for both the PS3 and 360 version. I tried it with the highest quantity allowed of 3 and then tried it with just 1, and I got the same results - unavailable at all but one store in my area now just a very short while after ordering mine and them being available at most stores.

They will print more. It would be stupid not to.

I would normally agree with you, but with this being available as a download and that likely always being available, I'm not sure sure about them keeping hte physical disc version in print.

I just picked up the CE from GS and the single "Limited Edition" version of the game from Best Buy. Excuse the awful pictures, I had to take them really quick in low light with my phone before running back to work. I find it interesting that there are essentially three different covers for the game now...

Trying to avoid spoilers for the game, so forgive me if this has been discussed...

How long (roughly) should it take to get through the entire game? Is each episode relatively short, or all together, do they span 20+ hours?

Re: The Walking Dead (Telltale Games)

I'd say maybe 12 hours or so? Some episodes feel longer than others though.

Re: The Walking Dead (Telltale Games)

I've heard 3-5 hours per episode, but I have no clue personally.

Re: The Walking Dead (Telltale Games)

Yeah, I spent about 2 hours on Sunday with Episode 1 and I think I'm easily 50-67% through it.

Halo 4 and Borderlands 2 come to mind. This game is good but didn't deserve to win game of the year, IMO.

Start to finish it should take you 12-15 hours, depending on how much you hunt and click.
