What is the game play style of this game and how long is gameplay with all episodes together?

FPS, and about 1 hour total. Easy achievements though.
I must really suck. Takes me 3-4 hours for each episode. So with 5 episodes all together, should take at least 15 hours. |

Re: The Walking Dead (Telltale Games)
Damn, that final episode felt VERY short.

Re: The Walking Dead (Telltale Games)
I think the file size was big to account for all the possible paths, but yeah it was a short one.

Re: The Walking Dead (Telltale Games)
Just wrapped it up. It did feel short, but was still awesome nonetheless. I really liked this game. My brother hasn't gotten it yet and I told him he should definitely pick up the retail version that's coming out. Although I do think waiting a couple months between each episode made it seem ever better than it already is. It's in my top 5 for games released this year and I hope there's more to come.

It's only $12.49 on Steam! :)

Re: The Walking Dead (Telltale Games)
I'm fucking furious right now. I downloaded and played the first section of episode 5 earlier today. I just log back on to finish the episode and the game fucking reset. I can't play episode 5 because the only save file is now episode 1.

Re: The Walking Dead (Telltale Games)
You probably shut off your Xbox while it was autosaving.
|
Re: The Walking Dead (Telltale Games)
A couple of hosts of a bi-weekly Xbox 360 podcast recently said they had similar problems with their save files. I doubt it's related to amateur hour and shutting off the console during a save.

Re: The Walking Dead (Telltale Games)
I had a problem loading the new chapter today saying something about "if you rewind yada yada." and I exited back to the dashboard. After that everything worked fine.

And goddamn... Game of the Year. Hell, Game of this Gen. |
Re: The Walking Dead (Telltale Games)
I'm mildly amused that a zombie adventure game made such an impact.
love adventure games. |
Re: The Walking Dead (Telltale Games)
I've had the Mac version direct from Telltale since the pre-sale, but I've yet to start because I was waiting for the whole thing to be out.
Tonight I won Episodes 1-4 on XBLA from Twitter, so I'll probably just buy the 5th and play it there instead  |

Re: The Walking Dead (Telltale Games)
Episode 5 was short, and it had more "that's not what I thought that dialogue option meant" moments than the previous episodes, but it was also the culmination of a very emotional story, and in that regard it was incredibly effective. It was also the first video game that actually made me cry. Taken as a whole, The Walking Dead is easily my GOTY. Unless I'm completely forgetting something, nothing else really comes close.

Re: The Walking Dead (Telltale Games)
i dunno. i kinda liked the all too short demo and wanted to see where it went, but wasn't keen on all the quicktime events or whatever they were when you pan over the dot and press a key.
is the whole game like that? i didn't hate it and perhaps if demo lasted longer i would have liked it more, so debating to get the whole set on 12/4. seems like the emotional payoff is well worth it though, but i think i like to have more control over characters. |

Re: The Walking Dead (Telltale Games)
^This is the only kind of game that Telltale Games makes. It's like an old school point and click adventure game (Maniac Mansion, Monkey Island, Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, etc., if you've ever played any of those).

Have you played any of their other games? Jurassic Park, or the Sam and Max games. It has a very similar control scheme.
