Yuck. Guess I'll wait until that's straightened out before I redeem my code then. I'm one of the ones who got screwed out of the Debate armor rewards and know that Live CS doesn't seem to be very helpful.

Re: Halo 4

Codes were handled 100% better on this than the Borderlands 2 ones for Best Buy, have them on the receipt and emailed.

That's 100% identical to how they were handled on Borderlands 2 pre-orders. (At least that's how it was for me.)

Re: Halo 4

For myself, and a lot of others, it took over a week to get it. CSRs were ringing up the wrong UPC or something.

FYI: the game's servers have been experiencing issues for most of the day, with a LOT of people being unable to do anything online. I was able to get into a couple of matches, but from what I've been hearing I feel like a lucky minority.

Re: Halo 4

Finished the game.

No spoilers but:
at the ending.

Oh and there is a bonus scene after the credits. You have to option to skip the credits, but I'm unsure if doing that will also skip the bonus scene.

A friend overheard someone at Gamestop saying his code didn't work either. Probably a good idea to just hang on to it.

Re: Halo 4

Is it worth trying to sell or trade these armor bonus codes anywhere? Can't say I really care enough to enter the codes.

Re: Halo 4

Alright, before I start freaking out and calling NewEgg, is the Steelbook supposed to have anything in it besides the games? Mine is empty. No instruction book, DLC codes, nothing.

Re: Halo 4

Mine didn't have anything either. All the extras were in those foil bags.

Re: Halo 4

Alright, awesome, thanks Corvin. I didn't want to start tearing into the bags just in case I had to send it back. Weird that they didn't even include an instruction book. Guess more and more games are doing that.

Wow in that case, I should have rented it. When will I learn my lessons with FPS? I'm getting better tho, rented Dishonored, MOH, and will rent COD from Family Video and spend a total of 23 bucks to do so.
I don't understand how I can spend 20 hours+ with Borderlands and Skyrim and can finish all these other games in a 5 day rental. Any game that short shouldn't cost 60 bucks and get a near perfect review. I know, I know...multiplayer. I'm sure I spent around 15 hours on Reach.

Re: Halo 4

Play it on Legendary. I'm sure the playtime will be doubled. Or play it more than once. There is value to be had if you want it. Spartan Ops is going to offer another 6 hours or so, and multiplayer is a time sink for some.

Like it or not, 10 hours for single player campaigns is the norm anymore. The Borderlands, Skyrims and Mass Effects are the exceptions.

and spartan ops can be played SP right?

I am jumping right in tomorrow on Legendary...buzz is it is harder than all the games, so I will see how that goes...

Between the SP and Spartan Ops you will get plenty of value, even if you never touch mp..

Microsoft Addressing Halo 4 Connectivity Issues
“We are currently narrowing down possible solutions.”

Microsoft is currently looking into connectivity issues affecting Halo 4. Due to high demand, some users are experiencing trouble connecting online, but Microsoft is aware of the issue and taking steps to address it.

On Halo Waypoint, 343 posted the following statement: “As you can imagine, there are a tremendous number of new players connecting to Halo 4 right now. We’re aware that some users are experiencing occasional issues connecting to the Halo 4 services, and we are currently narrowing down possible solutions.”

The post adds that “we will be providing regular updates across all our channels” and advises staying tuned to the Halo Waypoint Twitter, Halo 4 Facebook and Halo Waypoint forums for the latest info. “Thank you for your patience, and we’ll continue working around the clock until all issues are resolved,” the post concludes.

Re: Halo 4

Play Halo 4 multiplayer, get up to 800 free MS points:
The latest offer to Xbox Live Rewards members will get them free Microsoft Points just for playing Halo 4's multiplayer. If you play over 140 hours of multiplayer, you'll be given 600 MS Points. Over 70 hours will earn you 300 MS Points, and over 35 hours will get you 100 MS Points.

Spending over 3000 MS Points on Halo content in the Marketplace will get you 200 points back, and spending 1500 points will get you 100 points back. You'll also be given back 800 MS Points if you spend over 3000 points and play over 35 hours of multiplayer combined.

This offer is good until November 30, and you have to sign up for the Reward service to make it count. Read more.
Before anyone asks, I did the math, and to get the top reward (140 hours) you'd have to spend a little under 6 hours per day playing between now and Nov. 30th.

Re: Halo 4

For even more perspective, it also works out to about a nickel an hour.

Shouldn't the multiplayer be 100% working before they offer something like this?

Re: Halo 4

Is there a reason to play any of the previous Halo games before I start Halo 4's campaign? The last Halo game I actually played and beat was Halo 1 back in the day. I have Halo 2, 3, ODST and Reach but I haven't actually played any of the campaigns.

The Halo lore is hard for me to understand anyway, it confuses me. I am sure you will be fine.

Yeah it's very dense. The Halo encyclopedia explained the plot better in a couple pages than the first 5 games did combined.
