Re: Halo 4
Every Spartan Ops match I've played for the past two months has been Legendary, nothing lower. I've probably played 150 SO games in that time and I'd say in less than a dozen did I have quitters or people just sitting in the game to earn XP. I think at this point in the game's life, the people playing SO are doing so because they enjoy it.
That being said, I'd be down to going for the SO achievements. I don't have any of them yet. If the two of you want to party up just let me know.
I played about two hours of SO in random last night; mainly the first mission. i already had the two challenges and just working on the Grunt and Elites kills. One match it was me (45), another at (46), one at (18) and one at (1). The two at (18 & 1) left within the first 2-3 minutes. The one at (46) must had a bad connection because we were freezing on & off but he stayed at it. But he ended leaving right when the last Wraith was dropped.
The overall match lasted 57 minutes and I ended up with 87 kills but with 63 deaths. I respawed righ in front of the Wraith about 25 times and down at the bottom where you have to clear the remaining Grunts & Elites. Two of them had the cannons and I was getting taken out in less than 3 seconds after spawning. It was toss two grenades, pray and run like hell. I did get the achievement for doing it alone though but wouldn't want to do it again. My nerves were shot.
if my co-op friend is not on again tonight I'll run thru helping out. Usually on around 7:45-8 Central.

Lag... yeah I have had lag from time to time.
General rule for Spartan Ops though... roll with the Plasma pistol as your secondary. Works wonders on Wraiths and Ghosts. Even using it as the "noob combo" on Elites still works pretty well. I can't tell you how often I'm the only person with the Plasma pistol taking out/hijacking all the vehicles.
Oh and 57 minutes?
Even when I do have quitters the match still only last 20-30 minutes.

Even when I do have quitters the match still only last 20-30 minutes.I would have but where I was respawning (the first place you go up and take the shield down which blows up) is where the wraith had me pinned. It was hanging out right at the opening and only one ammo dump had rifles and carbines which was empty. And down at the bottom where you end the mission is where I was respawning but it was with Elites and Grunts almost next to me in three directions. Seriously...I had about 5-6 seconds before getting it from front, back or side. Hence the 63 deaths and 57 minutes. Given the choice for a small weapon taking Elites down for me it's a Needler...only when they're around and loaded though.

Not sure when we are planning to do this, but two of us are looking for one or two to do the second campaign challenge this week in Shutdown on Ledgenary with four skulls on. Maybe tonight or tomorrow morning (like 10AM Central)
We'll be on tonight but helping my co-op friend do the challenges and missions in SO. Been sick all week and just played last night helping me finish the campaign in co-op.

Gooter and I ran some Spartan Ops last night for fun. The cheevos were too hard for just two of us.
I'm open for any cheevo hunting. Tonight might be good. Saturday morning is probably out for me though.

Yeah, was fun Corvin. Thanks again.
I don't know if I can get on tonight. If I can, it will definitely be after 11pm CT though. I also can only play at night so mornings/afternoons are out of the question.

Re: Halo 4
We tried the lastest campaign challenges today; just the two of us. Completed the 10K challenge on any mission. But forget about the one on Shutdown. We didn't even get thru the first phase. Might as well been using spitballs. Didn't matter hat we tried and used...against the dogs, flying bikes or Knights it was useless.
You would have to empty half the Assault Rifle just to take down one of the Watchers if you had the time. Even a Scattershot four times up close didn't phase a Knight. We figured even with four people it wouldn't matter. Not enough ammo and weapon drops and what you have doen't work. The time we spent trying to do this we could've played five SO Missions, padded our enemies killed stats 200x over and got nearly 38K of XP.

Halo 4: Majestic Map Pack Details
The Halo 4 Majestic Map pack will be released on February 25th.
It's been developed in tandem with external developer Certain Affinity, which has worked on several pieces of Halo content for Microsoft in the past.
The expansion contains 3 new maps designed for up-close-and-personal gameplay, best suited to small teams. The maps are titled Landfall, Monolith and Skyline.
Furthermore, the pack includes 2 new DLC playlists and a new free-for-all game mode called Infinity Rumble. The game is set up in a way that every kill and death feels meaningful, this is created by having slower spawn times in the free-for-all matches. Infinity Rumble will be exclusive to the Majestic DLC playlist for a period of time. The 2 new playlist are Majestic FFA DLC for 8 players, and Majestic Team DLC for 4 vs. 4.
There are 10 new achievements, if you're into that sort of thing – that's 250 points.
The new maps will also be integrated into existing Infinity Slayer, Capture the Flag, SWAT, Regicide, Doubles, Team Objective and Team Throwdown playlists. DLC maps will appear in a playlist if all members of the match have the content purchased or the War Games Map Pass, Microsoft said.

Halo 4 Getting a Huge Update This Week
There’s a whopper of a patch coming to Halo 4 this week, courtesy of developer 343 Industries.
As noted on Halo: Waypoint, the update hasn’t been dated yet, but it has been extensively detailed and reproduced below.
“While we’d love to give you the specific date and time you’ll be prompted to download this update,” said 343 Industries.
“Unfortunately we’re only given an ambiguous window in which it will release, not a hard date. So you’ll know as soon as we know… or something like that, anyway.”
So what do you make of the update? Seems some members of the community aren't happy at all.
Gameplay
Vehicles
Specific Game Modes
Custom Games
Spartan Ops
Miscellaneous
Fixed a selection of issues where theater clips were missing map-specific audio, including ambient noise and announcer voice.
Fixed File Share preview images for films and map variants.
Fixed issues with in-game translations.
Fixed title screen camera clipping.
Fixed an issue with Forge pieces and the shadows they create.
Fixed aliasing split screen HUD issues.
Fixed an issue where some saved films of Forge games featured no Forge lighting.
Fixed incorrect “change description” text in File Browser.
Fixed assorted crashes.

Gameplay
- Reduced the range of the Boltshot’s damage scaling over distance. The previous effective range for 1-hit kills was around 20-25′. The range has been reduced to 15′.
- Fixed an issue where modified loadouts were not being saved correctly.
- Fixed an issue where attempting to sprint while crouching using “hold to crouch” would cause players to be unable to shoot for 1-1.5 seconds.
- Fixed an issue where some players were not able to get into matches on new map/game variants after playlist updates.
- Fixed a DLC-related Join-in-Progress issue that kicked players back to the title screen.
- Fixed various issues regarding glitched Autosentry deployment.
- Fixed an issue where one player per session was unable to stay scoped with the Flagnum.
- Fixed an issue where clients playing multi-round matches were not propelled by Man Cannons after the first round on Wreckage.
- Fixed an issue for players who had licensed content for the specialization offer, and had the free Map Pack content, but did not have the Map Pass or Map Pack license by displaying a new error message: “You have Map Pack content that requires a license. Please purchase the War Games Map Pass, purchase the Map Pack individually, or delete the Map Pack content from your console.”
Vehicles
- Fixed issues with friendly fire against vehicles. If FF is disabled, damage/EMPs from friendly sources will no longer damage vehicles that are fully controlled by your team.
- Fixed an issue with where the Wraith secondary turret became disabled when shot with a Plasma Pistol. The feature has been updated to be consistent with previous Halo titles.
- Fixed a Mantis functionality exploit that allowed pilots to survive planted grenades.
Specific Game Modes
- Friendly fire turned off in Flood to prevent exploits.
- Fixed Flood character models to allow for Warthog and Mongoose use.
- Fixed an inconsistency with King of the Hill deathcam.
- Fixed an issue where the Grifball would get stuck in geometry and never respawn.
- Fixed the issue for Extraction where players did not regain full control of their character for extended periods of time after interacting with a site.
- Fixed multiple Extraction scoring issues, including an overtime fix that ensures that a victory will not be awarded to a team who is controlling the go-ahead extraction point when the game ends.
Custom Games
- Fixed an issue that did not allow players to create respawn timers or disable instant respawn in custom games.
- Fixed an issue on Shatter where players couldn’t start a custom Dominion game.
- Fixed an issue where the Ordnance game options reset when scrolling up or down in custom games.
- Fixed an issue where custom game descriptions did not appear in the “Settings” preview screen.
- Fixed inconsistencies and bugs in the final death cam for custom games.
Spartan Ops
- Fixed an issue where the “Dedicated to Crimson” Achievement could not be unlocked.
- Fixed an issue where players in Spartan Ops Episode 6 Mission 1 were able to look around before the vignette.

Latest Halo 4 Update Adds Extraction Playlist and Forge Maps to War Games
343 will be bringing yet another update to Halo 4's War Games multiplayer next week, with the addition of the Extraction Mode playlist and a couple of new Forge maps, namely the arena-style Simplex and the cliffside "semi-symmetrical on-disc Ravine variant" Settler.
Here's the lowdown on Extraction, according to the latest Halo Waypoint bulletin: "Extraction is a 5 vs. 5 objective-based game type where opposing Spartan teams are tasked with extracting assets from various sites around the map. Once a team has found a site and is in position, they must plant their beacon and protect it from the opposing team while the extraction process occurs. If the defending team remains in control of the beacon, they receive one point, however if the opposing team overtakes the site before extraction is complete, the point is theirs. Once a site has been extracted, a new site becomes available. The first team to extract five points wins."
Here's the settings that the Extraction playlist will feature:
Mode - Extraction
Team Setup - 5 vs. 5
Score to Win - 5
Loadouts - Custom
Instant Respawn - Disabled
Death Cam - Enabled
Motion Tracker - Enabled
Personal Ordnance - Disabled
Active Sites - Map Dependent
Site Location - Sequential
Site Movement - On Extraction
Arming Time - 3 Seconds
Extraction Time - 45 Seconds
Conversion Time - 3 Seconds
Timer Pause - Enabled
You'll be able to get involved with the Extraction Mode and new Forge maps when the latest Halo 4 update hits on March 4th.

Do they ever have double XP weekends or anything like that for Halo 4? I know they were doing the Mountain Dew code thing when it first launched, but I haven't seen anything past that.
Also, Corvin, what did they end up sending you? Anything cool?

Nothing's shown up yet. Forgot about it until you mentioned it.
I think it was just going to be an action figure. Nothing big.
Kinda bummed I didn't win anything on the DewXP thing though. I was hoping for a controller(used all my points on it).

Re: Halo 4
its annoying.
you can only have 2 guns and when you run into the same gun on the floor, it does not add ammo to your current gun. you have to use up the ammo then look around for another gun on the floor.

Re: Halo 4
That's not really true. Most of the weapons add ammo.

Re: Halo 4
I thought the lack of ammo actually made the game a little more fun. It made you use more guns that you wouldn't normally use and made the game a tad more difficult if you just tried to rush in without the fear of running out of ammo.
