What t-bone said. The needler destroys Elites and Knights. Well worth picking up in a pinch.

Second T-Bone on that....for Knights and Elites they'll take them down faster than any normal rifle. Unload a half-a-clip and it's a sure thing they'll go down.

Re: Halo 4
Just started chapter 8...meh, if I wanted to play Starfox I would have bought Starfox. The campaign has been ok but I'm not sure which has been a bigger letdown for me so far in this fall of big releases. AC3 or this.
I spent 20 hours with Sleeping Dogs and loved every minute of it, yet haven't really got in to either of these. Getting old I guess.

Best thing to use on hunters is the remote detonator. I've hit those guys with multiple fuel rod strikes, genades, rockets, etc with no success. You must hit them from behind which is not easy.

Halo 4 Server Issues ‘Resolved’
Microsoft has responded to server issues affecting Halo 4. According to a long-running thread on the Halo Waypoint forums, users were unable to connect to matchmaking servers for as long as three days, but Microsoft now says it has identified and corrected the issue.
“The issue that impacted an isolated number of players that prevented connection to the Halo 4 servers for matchmaking has been resolved,” a Microsoft spokesperson told IGN. “A solution was deployed this afternoon, and all reports show operation has returned to normal.”
Microsoft advises that players with additional questions can receive updates by continuing to post inquiries on the Halo Waypoint forums.

Halo 4 Crimson Map Pack Detailed, Date Confirmed
Three new maps plus Extraction game type.
Following a leak earlier this week, Microsoft has now confirmed that Halo 4’s Crimson Map Pack will be released on December 10th. Available for 800 Microsoft Points, the pack adds three new maps as well as the new Extraction game type and will be free to players who purchase the Halo 4 War Games Map Pass or to anyone who purchased the Halo 4 Limited Edition.
New maps include:
Wreckage - “A medium-sized, asymmetrical map great for accommodating a wide range of objective-based game modes including King of the Hill and Capture the Flag. Wreckage supports up to 16 players in Infinity Slayer and up to 12 players in a variety of other modes, including Capture the Flag, King of the Hill and Oddball.”
Harvest - “A small to mid-size map, Harvest is ideal for Capture the Flag. Here, you’ll need to get creative to effectively use light vehicles which are limited to the exterior pathways and can’t get into the bases. Harvest allows up to 12 players to face off in Capture the Flag, Infinity Slayer, King of the Hill, SWAT and Slayer Pro.”
Shatter - “This large, symmetrical map is a playground for the Warthog and Mantis - its open pathways make it easy to get around, whether on foot or in vehicles. Shatter enables multiplayer mayhem for up to 16 players in Infinity Slayer and up to 12 players in other modes, such as Capture the Flag, King of the Hill, Dominion and Extraction.”
Extraction mode, meanwhile, is described by Microsoft as “a 5 vs. 5 objective-based game type where opposing Spartan teams are tasked with extracting assets from various sites around the map. Once a team has found a site and is in position, they must plant their beacon and protect it from the opposing team while the extraction process occurs. If the defending team remains in control of the beacon, they receive one point, however if the opposing team overtakes the site before extraction is complete, the point goes to them. Once a site has been extracted, a new site becomes available. The first team to extract five points wins.”

So I'm confused by this as I purchased the LE. This was apparently a code I redeemed when I bought the game? The comments on the Waypoint forum are confusing...

If it's anything like Halo:CE Anniversary then they'll leave out half the maps. I'm totally up for an anniversary edition, but not a gimped one like the original Halo.

My nephew and I watched "Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn" on Blu-ray yesterday. Wow what a great movie, loved it. At the beginning I was thinking this might be cheesy and suck bad and damn my nephew is gonna be bored after 10 minutes. It was the opposite he and I were loving it instantly and way before all the action kicked-in the 3rd act. MS did a great job with the small budget. It'll be awesome if they had total control of the feature big screen movie and somehow could get it done with a decent big blockbuster budget.

Re: Halo 4
So I had a crazy glitch the other night in Spartan Ops. Unfortunately I don't think you can view those in the theater. I tried to go back and save it, but couldn't figure out a way to view it.
All the enemies were completely invisible. Not camo invisible where you can still see an outline, but not there at all. Not only that, it appeared that all the enemies were shrunk to, say iphone size. All the guns the enemies were carrying were still visible, so it looked like they were just floating around on the ground. They were shrunk as well. Crazy.
The thing that sucked was it was impossible to shoot them. Grenades and beat downs were the only way to finish out the round.

Re: Halo 4
Anyone want to play some Spartan Ops on legendary and/or Heroic for those achievements?
I wish that M$/343 would have Ops matchmaking for all available episodes and not for just the latest episode or what they want to put in the rotation. Speaking of the 'rotation', when does it change? Is it weekly or daily or only during the time when they take a break from releasing new episodes?
Thanks all!

Re: Halo 4
It's weekly and ususally on Monday.
I'm working on the campaign part (never did finish it) in co-op. But I will say go ahead and do some random matches. Most of the time you get a good bunch to play with. I've played mostly on Heroic though sometimes you land in a Ledgenary game. Just keep playing them over till you get the achievements. I think the first mission is the quickest and has the most Grunts and Elites to take out.. None are like last weeks where you could get some serious kills.

Re: Halo 4
Every Spartan Ops match I've played for the past two months has been Legendary, nothing lower. I've probably played 150 SO games in that time and I'd say in less than a dozen did I have quitters or people just sitting in the game to earn XP. I think at this point in the game's life, the people playing SO are doing so because they enjoy it.
That being said, I'd be down to going for the SO achievements. I don't have any of them yet. If the two of you want to party up just let me know.
