They dispelled that rumor almost a quickly as it occurred. It was one of the goofier ones.
Microsoft’s Albert Penello has tweeted that there’s no additional GPU on the Xbox One aside from the one integrated on the main SOC. He has also stated that the performance differences between Xbox One and PlayStation 4 are greatly overstated!

A new countdown has begun but the first bit of news is interesting. They're making their own operating system.
The rest is here.
Steam is coming to a new operating system
As we’ve been working on bringing Steam to the living room, we’ve come to the conclusion that the
environment best suited to delivering value to customers is an operating system built around Steam itself.
SteamOS combines the rock-solid architecture of Linux with a gaming experience built for the big screen.
It will be available soon as a free stand-alone operating system for living room machines.

Now I'm just awaiting "PS4 announces Second OS Support will be back."

Note that the next announcement icon has brackets around it that look like a box. So I'm guessing the next announcement will be a partnership with various OEMs to produce SteamBox certified devices.

So what's the third icon? Half-Life 3? I feel like the "SteamBox" would be the final announcement...

The symbols are O, [O ], and O+O.
Basically it'll be SteamOS, different hardware products designed to be compatible with SteamOS, and a prebuilt SteamBox with hardware optimized for SteamOS.

Soon, we’ll be adding you to our design process, so that you can help us shape the future of Steam.

Interesting, an OS of their own makes some sense rather then using one of the existing flavors of Linux out there for their own gaming system. I'll be curious how well it works for the other non-gaming stuff out there, otherwise i'm not sure how interested people will be in it as a standalone.

If it's for a Standalone SteamBox then what can you really expect out of non-gaming features?
If it's in terms of the OS, that's what multi-boot is for.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure part of the information on the site, it said they are designing with dual boot in mind.
They are basically building a gaming OS, like a console...

Even as a PC gamer and computer tinkerer, i'm skeptical. I'm not sure how much i'll care to boot into a different OS for some performance improvements at the expense of various multitasking on my main desktop, or want to put together a PC with the OS just for gaming on my TV. I think their hardware has to really impress as an easy to use package for the OS to be a success, so we'll see.

At least as much as the 360/PS3/One/PS4, if that's what they're trying to compete with in the living room.

Since the point here is to turn a computer into a game console, I can see some apps being added, even if not initially part of the program. As it stands though, I love this idea, and Big Picture works really damn well - if they could get rid of some of the configuration pop ups and force games into full screen (VVVVVV) by default It'd be cool.
