Re: The Last of Us (PS3 and PS4)

So, I’m beginning to really love the bow and arrow. For stealth and distance. But, damn is it hard to find ammo for it.

After I got it, I think I only came to one place that had a couple lying around. This is upgradable right? Just like the guns I assume.

And, i wish you could craft ammo in this game, but i do love the shiv takedowns and good old fashioned strangle kill.

This definitely feels more survival horror than many games before and after its release.

Be sure to pick up arrows you've fired, after you kill your intended targets. The scarcity of arrows is seldom felt if you make sure to always do that.

Yeah, I think I did that once, by accident, then realized you can retrieve them. I have like 2 arrows right now. Just wish there were more. But, oh well. Still a fantastic game!

if you go in the custom difficult menu, you can tweak the amount of resources. Once I adjusted it to plentiful , I had more than enough arrows.

I did see that option, but seems like a bit of a cheat, no?

Whenever you think or feel like that, just ask yourself, what would GatorDeb do?

Just curious Oldboy, do you intend to jump right into the second game after you finish it?

Re: The Last of Us (PS3 and PS4)

Just curious is all. I liked the second game more than the first and envy anyone experiencing it for the first time.
I'm the same way though, I can't usually do games back to back from the same series.

Re: The Last of Us (PS3 and PS4)

It would be smart to take a brief break between the games, as there is a time gap between them anyway.

Part 2 is easily one of my favorite games of all time. There’s nothing like it that accomplishes what it sets out to do on that scale.

I’ve done series like Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry back-to-back, but that’s different because the stories change. Familiarity of controls is one benefit.

It’s funny when I posted about lack of arrows. I played a bit today and right away came across a few arrows. I need to get the distance perk on that bow.

Re: The Last of Us (PS3 and PS4)

what a great ride! tense, thrilling and emotional. great way to end 2023, by finishing a great game. this was true survival horror and loved it. the stealth component was so good and which is the reason why i like the Arkham series and Hitman. it's so much fun to learn the patterns and wait it out. sure, i like run and gun, but i also like slow and steady to win the game. with limited supplies and those clickers and blubber clickers and the human factor, it had it all.

Next is Left Behind and I hope that will lead right into the remastered part 2 on the 19th. i think i'm going to stay in this world just a bit longer. on to the tv series...

But it does cover Left Behind so you'll want to play that first.

So I've been wanting to play this and have never seen the show, what to do, games first or show first?

The first season of the show only covers the first game. No need to worry about the second game just yet.

Yeah, I’m giving the show a try. Pascal is dead ringer for Joel. It’s so weird seeing similar dialogue and scenes to the game. Like a real life game. And, I must haves missed this as I was nodding off, but wasn’t the girls’ name Veronica? Then became Ellie. How did that work?
