Re: Metal Gear Solid 5 (or Metal Gear 5olid)
Supposedly this game finally has a street date of September 1st.
Supposedly.
It seems like after months of rumors, it's finally true and legit, but you never know with Kojima.

The Collector's Edition looks badass (and super-expensive)

Meh. I can't see myself wanting Snake's terminator arm displayed anywhere.

It's good to finally have the release date for this installment. Hopefully Kojima will tie everything together, nice and neat, leaving everything in The Phantom Pain to tie directly into the original Metal Gear chapter.
I would love to have that limited edition console, but I always seem to own my PlayStation (whichever generation) before they come out with limited edition ones...and I am not buying one just to store, unfortunately.

The Collector's Edition is up for preorder on Best Buy. I threw in a preorder for the hell of it since Amazon's been sold out and they are going for about $200 on eBay. Figured $79.99 with GCU and I can always cancel if needed.

Yeah, I just pre-ordered there as well with GCU and came here to post. Beat me to it, Matty!

The real question about the rumors is, will he really be leaving this time? Kojima has been saying that it's his "last Metal Gear Solid" for a long time now.

When we spoke to Kojima recently, he was keen to emphasise Metal Gear Solid V will be the last entry in the series and, if this is any indication, it certainly will be for the man who started it all.

Gamespot is saying he's done after the game ships.
A fallout between Kojima Productions and its owning publisher, Konami, has led to senior staff at the studio being restricted access to corporate internet, emails, and phone, GameSpot understands.
Along with the restricted communications, key developers at the studio, such as Hideo Kojima, will now have limited opportunities to lend their appearance to promotions of the studio’s upcoming game, Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain.
Power struggles between Kojima Productions and Konami have convinced the publisher to make drastic changes, including amending the employee status of its Metal Gear team. Some senior staff at the studio, including Kojima, now essentially work as contractors, not permanent employees.
The extraordinary measures were revealed by a source within the studio, speaking to GameSpot on the condition of anonymity. The person explained that, once the Phantom Pain project is finished, in all likelihood the management at the studio will disband.
"After we finish MGSV, Mr. Kojima and upper management will leave Konami. They said their contract ends in December," the source claimed.

Shit, yeah, I totally forgot about that. Wonder how this would impact that project. P.T. was absolutely terrifying to play, so I was pretty stoked about the next Silent Hill entry.

Was P.T. a console exclusive or did they ever release it on PC?
