I like how the new trailers give more personality to the characters. I think they should add some of that personality during the cutscenes. Might give the game more replay value if the scenes changed slightly depending on the character you use.

I can't imagine there's much of an addtional profit margin on selling a new portal at $15 extra. If anything, the pressure is on to keep up the massive shelve space that this game (and Disney Infinity) take up in stores. Once they stop selling, I'm sure Best Buy, Target, Walmart and TRU will drop them like a hot potato.

I totally agree. I wish that they would make a cartoon with these characters… I love the shorts. As are matter-of-fact, after I see the cartoons on YouTube with them I tend play them more in the game.

Lightcore Bumble Blast is out at Toys R Us for those that are interested. That leaves only Doom Stone as the remaining Swap Force figure to collect aside from the variables. Was anyone here lucky enough to find a Flocked Springtime Trigger Happy at Toys R Us? Apparently, they were sent out randomly to various TRUS throughout the country. Unfortunately, neither of the stores around here got any.

Saw Lightcore Bumble Blast, but decided to pass on it. One of the TRUS I went to last week still had a number of the Springtime Trigger Happy figures on the shelf.

No, none of them were flocked. Were these only available at TRUS?

I believe so. I heard that they were an exclusive over in Australia so maybe a batch of those made it over here or maybe it was intentional to release a batch to Toys R Us.

re: Skylanders, Anyone?

Just a heads up. Toys R Us is having a green clearance sale on most of their Spyro Adventures and Giants accessories. The reduced price is 60% off the tagged price. Here is a pic of most of the stuff my daughter and I have grabbed up.
Spoiler:

The big Giants case is marked at 29.99 but comes out at 12 plus tax.
The two bag cases are marked at 19.99 but come out at 8 dollars plus tax.
The smaller plushes that talk are less than 3 dollars plus tax apiece.
The larger talking Spyro was just under 6 dollars plus tax.
The little bobblehead stylus are like 2 dollars plus tax apiece.
Also, I grabbed a Scarlet Ninjini marked at 15.99 and got her for 6 bucks or so.

I figured I would share these deals with you.

re: Skylanders, Anyone?

I was looking for information about a possible release date for Doom Stone and came up with this:

KickOff Count Down Will Be Out 5/18/14 ... Also Called And Asked About Doom Stone They Said 5/13/14 For Him
Take it with a grain of salt... This was from a google search and came from the Skylanders facebook page - a random poster who said they called TRU and WM for the info. Another poster verified the Doom Stone date. The dates jive with normal release days with the 18th being a Sunday and typical of some of the variants, especially those at Target. I'd like to see Jade Fire Kraken around these dates so we could be finished...

Got Doom Stone from Wal-Mart yesterday, so it should be out now.

re: Skylanders, Anyone?

I got Doom Stone today as well. However, I'm not sure if the backside of his hammer/mallet is supposed to look like this. Could someone else that has the figure tell me if mine is messed up or is designed to look like a chunk of it is missing? Thanks! Here is a pic of what mine looks like.

Mine looks the same, so I guess it's supposed to look like that.

Thanks for the reply. I guess it is supposed to look battle worn.

And now Doom Stone is available from Amazon! I don't have to drive around looking for one... and we're *done* until Jade Fire Kraken comes out.

There were three Doom Stones at my local WalMart so I snagged one.

I'm out.

I was going to run by WM between "offices" this week or on the way to the LCS yesterday but it's been raining and I didn't feel like dodging drops so I was glad Amazon listed it. Even though it was clear this morning I saw the Amazon listing before my daily trip which saved the side trip hassle. Gas and sales tax savings add up to ~$2 not to mention the 20-30 minutes it would have taken.

re: Skylanders, Anyone?

I *totally* screwed up!!! I went looking for release information on Jade Fire Kraken and wound up watching a few videos on Trap Force. Yeah, I know... I'd avoided watching anything until now.

Here's the one I broke down and watched:

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.be/embed/ha9VHDUFuc8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

The game looks *very* cool! Several awesome looking characters and the new portal also looks very cool with a translucent bottom and light up sides. I discovered there are going to be at least 15 "trap crystals" (that was in the trailer) and each will hold (at least?) 4 villains. They will also be sold so you know what you're getting - *not* in blind buy packaging. I'm getting tempted already...

re: Skylanders, Anyone?

I'm going to voice my complaint about something I suspected but wasn't sure about until now. I guess that when you start a new game like nightmare mode you lose your soul gem powers for your Swap Force released Skylanders until you find the soul gem in that particular playthrough. I find it to be a bunch of crap to have to find the soul gem each and every time in order to use my characters big powerup in a particular playthrough. Now, you don't have to purchase it again but it becomes available in your moves once you get the soul gem again. Ugh!

In Swap Force, you can keep the same save, just change the difficulty to Nightmare mode and replay levels using Chapter Select.

re: Skylanders, Anyone?

I got this guy today:
Spoiler:

Still no signs of any variants or the flocked Springtime Trigger Happy. Also, it looks like Jade Firekraken is out in parts of the world so we should see it released here soon.

Well, the names I submitted didn't make it. Voting has started though, so if you prefer one of these characters, then start voting. Choices are High Five, Bat Spin, or Flip Wreck.

What were your names? Those selected seem pretty lame... I "get" Bat Spin but the other 2 don't seem to fit much at all IMHO.
