Re: Skylanders, Anyone?

I was able to grab Hot Head at Toys R Us last week bu I don't think he is supposed to be out until later this month. I could be wrong. My daughter really wants Thumpback so I'm hoping they have him and the other Giants out before Christmas.

I am beginning to regret buying Giants from Walmart as I could have saved $25 by getting it from target via b2g1. The gitd Cynder was not worth an extra $25. If anyone still needs giants go to Target and buy 3 starter sets and just return the two you do not need.

Well, technically you're not supposed to buy multiples... but you can just buy two other random games and return them.

You can buy one for each console since they're all the same price. Wii, 360, ps3, 3ds. I am tempted to get the 3ds one just for the punch pop fizz...

Hot Head is available at TRU.com right now. I can't bring myself to pay retail and shipping costs.

The AAFES black friday ad leaked, and the Giants starter packs will be $49.95.

Re: Skylanders, Anyone?

My 5 yr old just finished the story portion of the game last night. The Kaos battle was pretty lame compared to the final battle in Series 1. This game seemed super easy for him versus last year's, granted he is a year older and knew the game play. I was hoping for it to last a few months. Hopefully, series 3 could increase in game play chapters.

How about just a new game with a handful of new characters or none at all?

I'd go for that. It would also be nice if they sold the original game without the portal and figures *and* sold the portal stand-alone.

I would also like to see the implementation of online play for the next one as well as the creation of an online Skylanders universe. They could have it where you can team up with other online players to take on quests and other stuff as well as story missions and boss battles. They have already created plenty of characters so now it is time to focus on the games.

Picked up Sprocket and Flashwing at BB. Still haven't seen Hot Head. I don't go to TRU often so maybe they're the only ones who have it right now? I still need whamshell and I don't want to buy the $30 case at TRU.

Re: Skylanders, Anyone?

Has anyone heard anything about original Skylanders single figures being discontinued? Toys R Us's Sunday Ad said something like "buy original figures before they're gone" or something like that.

I'm curious on a story line for Series 3. So for those of you that have already started to play Giants, I was wondering if at the end of Chapter 4: Cutthroat Carnival, is Blobbers just sad or is he mad? The camera close-up and music leave me to believe there is more to it. Like Blobbers might be so mad about being left there that he decides to side with Kaos.

Would totally love just having a longer game.

He is just sad.
Spoiler:
You won't see him again

My daughter and I beat this game yesterday. I must say that a few chapters have some decent hiding spots for the secret items. I don't recall any of the secret items being hard to find in the first game.

Edit: found hot head at target.

Re: Skylanders, Anyone?

Didn't make it to Target but I *did* check both WM today. Came up empty at one and found Sprocket at the smaller store. Did not see Flashwing, or the 2 new Giants, Thumpback and Hot Head. I'm in no hurry though as this is to be a Christmas present and I'm sure all of these will turn up at *some* point... Sprocket is not as cheesy/crappy looking as the photos seemed to indicate. It absolutely looks better than those toys in fast food boxes.

I don't think that Thumpback comes out until the end of this month at the earliest.

I do not know as I'm going by various lists of "wave 2" releases, none of which indicate exact release dates. One of those "if I see it I'll get it" kind of things. It *is* already listed on Amazon by whoreders at inflated prices.

Re: Skylanders, Anyone?

Walmart has some sort of clear green gill grunt exclusive with the purchase of a 4gb 360 bundle. Sadly it's a series 1 figure and the bundle is just a white 4gb 360 with skylanders adventures.

Re: Skylanders, Anyone?

Flashwing turned out to be a fairly powerful character once all powered up. My son has been building up the money of the characters by playing Skystones. Once he got ahold of the Conquetron and Axecutioner tiles, he's been beating everyone.

Re: Skylanders, Anyone?

I've been looking at some of the "better" informational sites for the figure statistics and *none* has any information on the alternate version figures, even the Legendary ones.

Does anyone have information on the statistics for Crusher as compared to Granite Crusher? I've read where they *do* look different in game but nothing on the stats. Basically trying to decide if we want/need the regular Crusher.

Re: Skylanders, Anyone?

I think they dropped the ball on not having Flashwing as a lightcore character as well as not having Hot Head's obviously ready to light up hands not light up. Granite Crusher looks very cool when his spikes and eyes glow blue.
