No real glaring ommissions. Though, I struggle with some of them being called "Legends" . With this group, I'm surprised we don't see like Ralph Sampson or Manute Bol.
What, are you saying that, say, Shawn Bradley isn't a legend? He...he... he was second team all rookie! And... he was really tall. And now you can reenact his classic battle with Gheorge Muresan.

GAMEPLAY

■Tuned accuracy of directional passing in order to more reliably pass to the intended target.
Hrmmm, so we won't be able to steal as much (hopefully that goes for the computer too) and passing will be crisper. I think that's a win, at least part of it.
■Improved help defense, specifically for rotations on pick-and-roll situations.
■Defensive tuning on 3PT shots to reduce the success of contested threes.
■Addressed an issue on drives to the basket where the help defender wouldn’t fully engage in the double team.
Defensive tuning on 3PT shots....well at least they won't be making 30 Foot contested threes anymore. It looks like somethings are fixed at least. I still don't see anything to address why the computer blocks like a 8 foot behemoth, but baby steps, baby steps.

Maybe Shawn, Gheorge and Mark Eaton can all be on the court at the same time against the team of Mugsy Bogues, Spud Webb and Tiny Archibald. That would be entertaining.

Re: Nba 2k12.

The review is finally up there. After spending some more time with the game, I can certainly say I am warming up to it. However, I still think 2k11 was a better product at the end of the day.

Headsup guys. 2K just posted on their Facebook page the NBA Legends Showcase will be available for download on Tuesday for PSN and XBox Live.

Re: Nba 2k12.

Should I get last year's game or this year's? I don't plan on playing online, just going through Jordan mode and playing a season. I know they are shutting down the servers in April.

Thanks

Well you each game has their own special features. So the choice is yours what you think will keep you entertained.

2K11 has the Jordan mode.

2K12 has the Legends mode with the classic teams. It also has the downloadable Legends Showcase where you can play as various old school NBA players in 1 on 1, 3 on 3 or HORSE.

Re: Nba 2k12.

I would say get 2K11, if you can get it for much cheaper (and you should be able to). Of course, take that with a grain of salt, I still have 2K12 unopened from the TRU B2G1F sale, and will probably return it this week. I've just heard too many lackluster things about it compared to last year, and by the time this new season gets underway, 2K12 should be down in price anyway.

Re: Nba 2k12.

So did anyone download the Legends Showcase feature?

Alot of people bitching on the 2K page why this wasn't free in the 1st place.

I played 2 games so far:

21 and HORSE.

21 is kind of fun. It's 1 on 1 with any NBA legend. I played as Magic Johnson against Shaq and lost by 3 points. The scoring is a little different. If you make a basket, you get 3 free throws and if you miss one, it's a free ball. If you make all 3, then you have the ball again. If you are on say 18 points and score 2 plus the foul, if you miss the free throw which would give you 21 and the win, you will be dropped to 13 points.

If I had to criticize something, I don't really like how the players are animated.

HORSE is hard. That's going to take alot of time to figure. There are several button maneuvers you need to make to accomplish your shot.

I'll try to play around with this more later on tonight.

BTW, it's 800 points on the 360 and $10 on the PSN network.

I still have this sealed on my shelf. Not sure if and when I'll open it, but once the NBA gets in full swing again, I am sure I might have the itch.

Is Legends DLC cell shaded only? Or can you switch back to the main games gfx?

I can understand the bitching. Even though I reviewed the sucker, I'm not ponying up that much for a few more legends and a couple of modes I'll never touch. Even at 400 points, it's hard to rationalize.

I've been playing the game on and off, the difficulty is still frustrating to me even on rookie (where as I could have played last year on just about any difficulty). Currently, I'm playing the legends and I'm 2/3rd through those challenges. These last five are going to be somewhat difficult I have a feeling. Early ones with Jordan or Bird or Chamberlin are walks in the park. Bill Russell and Patrick Ewing? Not so much.

Unfortunately that's how they are animated. It's very strange looking. It's almost like the programmers want to give the players some Avant Garde look.

A few? There are over 300+ players. Plus, you can Import your MyPlayer into this feature. Plus, you can also Unlock current players into it.

I absolutely hate the NBA 2K facebook. There is a bunch of whiners complaining incessantly.

Re: Nba 2k12.

Shannon Brown to Suns, Jason Kapono to Lakers. Since I mostly play Lakers in 2k12, and have Shannon in my first five as I play mostly slashing/driving type, it doesn't look good for my style of play. Now I guess I need to brush up on my 3 point shooting. And that's a huge change! Oh well.....

But think about this. This was DLC that was ready on day one (just released later) and I think if added to the NBA 2k12 game initially would have sold a lot more copies. Currently it feels like we have a half finished product. Honestly, I'm not whining about it....it is what it is. But I can understand why they are a little frustrated with it.

Plus you have to take Odom out of the lineup while he's pouting...

I picked this game up again but I don't think I'll start a new season just yet, at least until the initial trade/movement fallout. Will they somehow change the season mode to reflect the new schedule?

Re: Nba 2k12.

Headsup guys!

2K just announced they have posted the 1st Roster Update. They will post an additional Roster Update in the next 48 hours.

Will that inspire any of you to finally open up your game yet?

Re: Nba 2k12.

Are they going to shorten the schedule like the actual one?

Any way to change the schedule in 2K11 to match this shortened one?

Re: Nba 2k12.

They will probably send out another patch just before the season starts to sync up the game schedule with the current revised NBA season.

As for 2K11, you can forget that.

Re: Nba 2k12.

Is there a patch update to play as David Stern so you can block any trades made for Chris Paul or Dwight Howard?

Of course! That's why I have Paul, Kobe, and Howard on the Lakers.
