Re: Nba 2k12.

Oooo, I would like a Larry Bird please (good to see that they are keeping the Jordan/Legends thing and expanding on it). Funny thing though, I just finished one year of association mode yesterday on 2k11 (with the Wizards lol) and working on about three more achievements before I close the book on it. I had a great run with it and despite some early bugs (I often wished I could go back and change my review score due to the numerous patches), it ended up as one of the best basketball games I have ever played. Hopefully I will get to review this one as well.

It's cool to see, but if the NBA season is delayed i'll probably lose interest in the game for this year.

Happy that the 3 different covers weren't Lebron, Wade and Bosh.

I wonder if this version will open with the lock out and you have to negotiate with the players union before the season starts.

Re: Nba 2k12.

Wasn't Jordan on last years cover?

They should have put someone else on it. The Admiral, or Barkley, or Hakeem.

Then again, I would have paid double for a cover with Bosh crying, or LeChoke hanging his head in shame while the Mavs celebrate.

Re: Nba 2k12.

Any confirmation yet if it will include the Jordan challenges (or another legend) again like last year? Or let you play as any of the legends?

Re: Nba 2k12.

I've only put in like 30 hours of play into 2K11 so I think I'll hold off on buying this year's edition...at least for a few months or so when it's dropped to like $30 bucks.

Maybe it will have a "Sonny Weems" Mode, where you'll only be able to control various teams from Russia, Turkey, and Greece filled with 4th-rate NBA benchwarmers who are playing overseas while the lockout is on.

If I read the achievement right (for every 2 hours, I get one of the air jordans), that means I have 70 hours into the game. But it kinda makes sense when I have played through one entire season (58 games + playoffs) and messed around with myplayer mode. Hopefully before Oct 4th I can get the Slam Dunk achievement and the Getting a 3 at the Buzzer to tie along with the Air Jordans chievo or else I am pretty sure I will forget about them.

Good luck with the slam dunk contest one, for the life of me I still can't figure out how to pull off a dunk.

Supposedly (I have been messing with Association so much, I haven't had a chance to give it a real shot) if you edit LeBron down ratings wise considerably and make him really tall, his dunks get terrible scores. But then you still have to learn how to dunk as well so you can at least pull off an average dunk. We'll see, it would be a good way to cap off a fantastic game.

Of course, there is something fitting about ending the season of Association mode by blanking the Mavericks 4 to 0. I had a worse time with the Bulls who I scrapped by in a best of 5, 3 to 2. Odd

2K announced today NBA 2K12's new game mode, NBA's Greatest, which allows players to control some of the best basketball players the world has ever seen. Fans can relive 15 historic games that showcase some of the sport's best.

Players announced so far are: Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and Julius "Dr. J" Erving, plus 10 other legends to be announced in the coming weeks. The historic games feature the entire team rosters, accurate stadiums, and are presented to look like TV broadcasts from their respective era.

NBA Greatest sounds awesome and exactly the direction I hoped they would take it. Should be a lot of fun and thank goodness for full rosters.

Speculation is over. Here is the lineup, straight from the horse’s mouth.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar;
Larry Bird;
Wilt Chamberlain;
Julius Erving;
Patrick Ewing;
Magic Johnson;
Michael Jordan;
Karl Malone;
Hakeem Olajuwon;
Scottie Pippen;
Oscar Robertson;
Bill Russell;
John Stockton;
Isiah Thomas;
Jerry West.

Preorder details: Early birds get two extra pieces of history, the 1990-91 Golden State Warriors and the 2001-02 Sacramento Kings. These teams also come with their own basketball greats. This is for 360 and PS3 only.

Re: Nba 2k12.

Most of those were in 2K11 anyway. I'm more excited about the 90-91 Warriors

Call me biased, but no Drexler pisses me off, especially with Jerry West thrown in for no good reason other than he was a Laker and the "logo" of the NBA.

I hated those fucking guys. I was a Sonics fan, and that game 7 where the refs called about 8 billion fouls on Seattle and 1 on Phoenix drove me insane.

Re: Nba 2k12.

I guess they couldn't come to an agreement with Barkley. I wonder why. This is all speculation, but it is weird.

http://kotaku.com/5832793/the-curiou...y-and-nba-2k12

Reading between the lines, it appeared that Barkley, like the Indiana Pacers' great Reggie Miller (polling No. 5 five on that vote), couldn't come to an agreement with 2K Sports over the use of his likeness, last year or this year. Whatever's going on, either he wants too much money, wants a cover or other promotional considerations 2K can't afford or grant.

Or he objects to second-billing under some other star from a cast of dozens highlighting this game. Or, conversely, one of Barkley's old rivals refuses to appear in a game with him. Or, maybe, he signed a Rumplestiltskenian deal with the makers of Barkley: Shut Up and Jam promising them his firstborn if he appeared in another game.
