I agree 100%.

I guess I was wrong?

Then again, maybe it has to do with rights being tied up. I remember when a remastered version of GoldenEye was going to come out, but they could never get Nintendo and Microsoft to agree to the various terms. Sigh...
Killer Instinct is 100% Rare/MS owned, AFAIK. Along with Blast Corps., Jet Force Gemini and a few other games that could be revived.

Didn't a remastered version of Goldeneye come out?

A remade version of Goldeneye came out. Not quite the same thing.

If they had announced Eternal Darkness 2 I would buy it on launch day. I have no illusions about such things.

Silicon Knights is apparently working on a sequel for Too Human, but not for Eternal Darkness.

But doesn't that indicate that they worked out the rights about Goldeneye? Or did they get around that by remaking the game entirely?

As far as Killer Instinct, was that a big enough hit to garner fans today? SF and MK are both large enough that resurrecting them brought fans back, not sure about KI. I would kill for a new Blast Corps, though.

How, exactly, could you use the motion device for games like Tiger Woods or anything sports related??

I'm sad to say that if the new console has an achievements-esque reward system, I'd be more likely to buy it.

The person is swinging a Wiimote, which handles all the swing mechanics. The Wiipad appears to only be used for a visual effect of showing your ball's lie.

I know they're using the Wii Remote. They asked about golf so I figured the video was the best way of illustrating how the Wii U Controller would be used for a golf game: basically, it won't be used at all.

It's almost as if you don't need a WiiU at all!

Re: The Official E3 Expo 2011 Thread (June 6-9, 2011)

I mean, there's some cool stuff in that video. The catching of the baseball in particular actually makes it look like the game could be a little more realistic in terms of catching and throwing a ball. And yeah, the zoom scope effect is pretty neat as well.

The problem is that the same effects could probably be accomplished in-game with either a standard controller of the Wii Remote in a much more natural and intuitive way. As it stands, at least from those previews, you'll have to look back and forth between screens to do things and I think that is going to get incredibly annoying and tedious really fast. Not to mention, if you want to do something in the game you'll have to hold the Controller in front of you aimed at the screen and I'm sure if you're playing a game for a while it will be very uncomfortable.

Another problem as I see it is that where the Wii Remote and its minimal motion controls were very simple and intuitive (a flick of the wrist, pulling the controller back, etc.), using this controller looks unnecessarily complicated and awkward, to the point of taking the fun out of playing games.

So terrible. And it's amazing how vertical the red buttons are. You supposed to hold it sideways?

That's the same impression I got. I won't pass judgement until I'm able to play it myself but it does seem very awkward using motion control with a "controller" meant to be held with both hands.

What? The Sixaxis was the epitome of ergonomic design, elegance and motion control.

It will probably be tied your Live account so I don't think it would be all that much different.

Using it to balance on logs in Uncharted 1 was probably the greatest gaming experience I've ever had!
