I'll do what I've down with MW 2 and BLACK OPS.

Buy it release day, play the heck out of it through December, then let it sit until April or May before selling it off.

I'm confused...

I thought infinity ward left activision and is no longer a company. How are they making this under the infinity ward name and still with activision???

Infinity Ward never left Activision, they're owned by Activision. The founders and leads of Infinity Ward were fired and went to EA.

Yes and no. Infinity Ward is still the same company. Activision fired the two guys that started the company and created CoD. When they were fired, about half the company went with them.

So yeah, same company, but basically all new people working there so IW is just a name now.

That looks great.

I don't play MP, but the SP is always amazing for me in the IW COD games.

That Infinity Ward news has always made me nervous about this upcoming game, but I'm in. I still play MW2, and I cannot get into Black Ops.

This is actually the reason why I will be hanging onto Black Ops (first COD game I won't be getting rid of)....I thought the single player campaign was the best one yet and have already revisited certain areas.

May have to take my earlier comments back as that new trailer looked damn good.

I thought Black Ops campaign was horrible compared to MW & MW2.

The graphics from Infinityward are much more realistic, where the actual layout of the MP maps from Treyarch seem much more in-depth, with more "multilevel" accessibiilty.

The trailer reminded me of Crysis 2... a very good thing.

I dunno...the campaign is pretty boring for Treyarch's COD. IW brings that big drama w/ Bay visuals. Treyarch tries to hard and it gets boring quick. World at War's most interesting moments weren't w/ the Americans..it was the Russians cuz we don't know about their side so it's visually interesting overall.

Again..it's not horrible just tries to hard and it doesn't work. Admittingly the most interesting character out of World at War and BO is Resnov.

Totally agree w/ this. Oddly enough...I love Black Ops multi but when I go back to MW I can't do it anymore. It was just too broken and cheap. Not enough balance. BO's multi for sure was the most balanced.

If by balanced you mean a pistol has the killing power of an assault rifle, then yes Black Ops is definitely balanced.

I only buy the "Modern Warfare" games. I tried World at War and didn't like it and didn't even bother with Black Ops. Hopefully this game will be better than MW2.

I gotta admit, I'm not a CoD fan but that trailer makes this look pretty good. Between this and Battlefield 3, I can't believe how stoked I am for FPSes this year.

I liked Black Ops multiplayer better then Modern Warfare 2. The maps are much, much better in my opinion.

Re: Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 (PS3, 360...)

Activision Blizzard Inc. plans to launch an online service called Call of Duty Elite this fall that will work with the next major edition of the game, "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3," and future installments of the hyper-realistic combat-simulation game. In a move industry executives describe as a first, Activision plans to charge a monthly subscription fee for the service, which will provide extra content that isn't offered on game discs sold in stores, including downloadable map packs that give players new "Call of Duty" levels to play.
