I forgot how the level of homoerotic innuendo increased exponentially with you in the game the other night. Fucking pederast.
You guys must have talked for 10 minutes about how much you loved "sauce". |

re: Battlefield Talk
Good times rolling with OG last night...stayed up too late...something like 2AM my time, and I'm feeling it this morning.
We had a number of good close games, and invariably, I was on the losing side of them all...just that kind of night. Still bagged 3-4 Ace Pins and had fun, as always. My PS3 has basically turned into a netflix and Battlefield machine. I keep forgetting my own rules on prioritizing objectives and asking myself "What the hell am I doing here?", and it's generally right before I die a stupid death. There are a few maps where you should only go to Bravo as a last resort because it's almost certain death and/or you always lose other objectives even if you do take it. Panama Canal, Harvest Day and White Pass are the three maps that come to mind.
Last rule: Never run between Bravo and Delta on Nelson Bay, unless you just have a death wish. Better to cut over to Alpha or Charlie (even if you already have them) and approach from a less exposed position. It only takes a few more seconds. |
re: Battlefield Talk
Friday. Bitches.
A few of you need to show up tonight. No excuses. Results only. |
re: Battlefield Talk
Thanks for coming out OG...good times.
You just missed the highlight of my night: On Port Valdez, this engineer has a tank parked on the hillside above Alpha and the map was one of those where we're holding Bravo and Charlie and all the fighting is over Alpha, so a tank parked above it was a pain in the ass. The tank kills me, and I spawn in the gunner seat of an Apache and light him up a bit. I see that he gets out to repair his tank. Instinctively, I eject to parachute down, and I glided to a perfect landing 5 feet behind him and stabbed him in his nugget. Then he got to see a few teabags and me stealing his tank on his kill cam. Good night overall...lots of laughs and lots of splosions. |

And he didn't mean repairing his tank

re: Battlefield Talk
Yeah, I knew when you just dissapeared that it had to have been something like that. No worries...always a good time.
Just wish we could get the Cruz/Nic/Slider group to play with us every now and then...nice to see R2 playing a bit at least, and I'm glad to finally play with Flip a bit. |
re: Battlefield Talk
I was planning on joining you guys but I was wiped out by 10 pm and lamely went to bed early on a Friday night.
|
re: Battlefield Talk
That is pretty weak sauce. ;)
The nice thing about Battlefield is that I only need 1-3 of you guys every Friday to run a squad, so there's no pressure to come out every Friday, but it would be nice to play something with you guys every now and then for old time's sake. OG is probably on more than anybody lately, followed by Shum. Cactus has been playing some, but we never seem to cross paths, and Flip and R2 both have made appearances recently. |
re: Battlefield Talk
I was out of town at camp for two weeks and returned home last night. Got on the Battlefield with OG and rocked it for a while.
Will likely be on today and Monday quite a bit to unwind before getting back to the grind. |

re: Battlefield Talk
Fun night with Spatch, OG and Cactus.
Lowlight of the night was on Vietnam with my own teammate griefing me with a flamethrower for, I'm not exaggerating here, 15-20 solid minutes. I figured he'd lose interest, but he just never did. -rolleyes- Couple of highlights for me, including an epic flag defense on Atacama Desert where I killed two dudes, then finished off a tank with my engineer tool, then killed the guy who hopped out, then dodged a Cobra that tried to run me over by jumping on a box and shot the driver when he hit the box I jumped on. That map is a mixed bag (needs another AA gun), but the most epic stuff seems to happen on it. Congrats to Spatch on hitting 49! |
re: Battlefield Talk
Forced an update for Spatch on the OP.
Noticed that I hit 500 hours online...that's about 3 solid weeks. :jawdrop: |
re: Battlefield Talk
@ Spatch...sorry I didn't get back to you last night. We were already in a squad of four, and as you probably noticed, we were getting worked over pretty good.
Man did you pick a bad time to drop in, as we were rolling in the 5-10 maps before that one. I bagged probably 6 ace pins in a row, and none of them were close. But right before you came, the other team had two squads of lvl 50s drop in, so they were good and we were outnumbered. If anybody is planning to play at all this week, post and I'll try to come out. |
re: Battlefield Talk
No worries, chess.
This weekend I hit Level 49 and am already 25% to Level 50. I hit Level 49 when I revived OG, so now he's part of history. Also nabbed two excellent mortar strike kills, both on the same back-to-back Defenders / Attackers pair of Valparaiso Rush maps: 1. While on Defense on the second set of M-COMs, I shot a guy off his quad bike, hopped on, and drove it back to their spawn. I hid by their helicopter landing so I could blow it up when it respawned. Instead, it landed to repair... but no one got out of it. Didn't matter, 'cause they were all medics! I brought the rain down on them and nabbed a quadruple kill with vehicle damage and the vehicle kill. Verdict: Delicious. 2. While Attacking the next round, I ran upstairs to Alpha on the last set of objectives - one that can be tricky to get if you ask me (I'd already armed it like three times and they got it each time). This time I set it, dropped a mortar strike, through a motion mine, and ran for cover. The mortar strike took out three defenders, I ran in and shotgunned three more, took one out with my M93 Burst pistol, and even nabbed some tags. With this one, I finally earned my 50th Combat Excellence Pin and the Distinguished Combat Excellence Insignia. Verdict: Scrumptious. My only Insignia left is the Exemplary Marksman Combat Insignia and I have 83 marksman headshots to go (I'll have to pick up one of the better sniper rifles and sit patient for a while, I guess). Any pointers on how to get these? Is there a certain distance I should be looking for, like shoot at Alpha from Charlie on Arica Harbor, or something? I have three weapons I'm close to Platinum stars on - UMP-45 (900+ kills), M-60 (700+ kills), and the 870 Combat Shotgun (800+ kills) - so I think I'll wrap those three up, maybe keep going for the Platinum star on the mortar strike and/or C4 (over halfway there on both). Also looks like I'm over halfway there on stationary weapons and nearly halfway there on chopper kills so I may spend some time at the HMGs and in the Hind here and there (gunner, only!). Seems like between being so close to so many Platinum stars and then being close to Level 50 it's going to be near my time to stop "star chasing" and settle into my favorite routine of Engineer with the M-14 and Carl Gustav or do some experimentation just for fun (never really did give the Assault class a fair shake). Maybe I'll even get back into nabbing dogtags to the extreme or go for defibrillator and/or repair tool kills. You know. Be "that guy." It's good to be back. |
re: Battlefield Talk
Also wanted to add that I saw Amazon's gold box deals gives the teaser, "Upcoming Deal: This PS3 Headset is Officially Licensed by Sony" for the deal coming up at 6:00pm PDT. Likely, it's the Sony Wireless Stereo Headset which I picked up last month for $80 and they're awesome! FYI, if you're looking for a good headset that has simultaneous squad chat and in-game sound in them via bluetooth. It was a necessary change for our new home now that the bedroom is above the living room in case I want to blow stuff up late at night.

re: Battlefield Talk
I'll give the thumbs up for this headset also. Not only is it compatible with my PS3 but I also use it with my PC and my Sony bravia TV.

re: Battlefield Talk
I'll be around most of the week, but I'm still mainly chasing Vietnam Trophies (Only ones I still need are 50 Huey Kills--bout halfway there, 20 Flamethrower kills--haven't started this one, but I figure it should be easy once I actually go for it, and Sliver/Gold Starring all the primary weapons--have done half of them). I'm a shitty Huey Pilot, so mainly what I'm doing is playing normally, and going thru the weapons one by one, and when someone from my squad grabs a Huey, I jump in the gunner seat.
Just fair warning, if you see me playing by myself, that's usually what I'm doing, just in case you don't want to play Vietnam and/or don't want to reset your preferences in the main game. Feel free to send me squad invites if you want to mess around though. Once I finish those up (and probably once I go thru the Onslaught trophies too--I've already Platinumed the game, but I'm one of those anal bastards who likes to see 100% beside the game in my log), I'll move onto something else as my primary game, but I think I'll still play this casually with you guys. |
