re: Battlefield Talk
I must be playing at the wrong times. I need to get in some games with you guys where people actually work together.

re: Battlefield Talk
19K, I tend to be on in the 11:00pm-1:00am CST hours the most consistently, if you want to squad up.

re: Battlefield Talk
Gone for the weekend and the shadow of MW3 looms sooo closely. I should be down for some mayhem on Monday night
|
re: Battlefield Talk
Ok so after being absent for awhile I just picked up BF3.
Shumway......I'm coming for you! *smashes mic into Russians face* |
re: Battlefield Talk
Lol, it's nice being the target!

re: Battlefield Talk
Home with copy in hand...might get on for a bit today.

re: Battlefield Talk
It's Texas, so I won't ask you how it feels to be home, but welcome back nonetheless.
|
re: Battlefield Talk
Parts of TX are quite nice...planning to retire in San Antonio actually. But yeah...it's pretty crappy where I live right now.
Played a couple of rounds of conquest on random maps. I felt like I was starting to get the hang of it and was starting to find my way around...even got a set of dogtags. Still, it doesn't feel quite as smooth at BC2 to me...or maybe that's just my memory. I did see a jet crash into a helicopter that was shooting at me, which was pretty freaking epic. |
re: Battlefield Talk
Friz, you going to be around tonight?? I'm really hoping to jump on for awhile with BF3. Hopefully we can catch ogsley online too. He seems to know the maps as well as anyone.

re: Battlefield Talk
After some light nudging, I have finally joined DVD Talk.
Hey folks, I'm Squid_Hats. Also known as Octo_Motoko and also known as dogmatica's younger brother. You guys are fantastic to play with. Come to me if you need any embarrassing family stories. |
re: Battlefield Talk
Welcome to the community. What's up with the squids? Repressed Red Wings fan living in Minnesota?

Bet I make a run tomorrow night in the absence of Warhawk. In limited play, it's not feeling "right" to me...kind of clunky and clearly downscaled from PC where BC2 was clearly designed for console. I'm hoping I'll settle in given a bit of time. What's the button for prone??? |

And welcome Squid Hats!!!

re: Battlefield Talk
I don't think we'll see chess / frizby at the bottom of the stats graphic ladder for long. Weird to see you on that end instead of near the top (DarthVong, too!).
My win/loss ratio plummeted from 2.13 last week to 1.55 after just two nights of play. Got put on the losing team over and over. You do what you can, you know, but there's only so much you can do when you spawn in and the team's already down by 100 tickets. Managing to keep my kill/death ratio up there, though, which I never really thought much about until lately when it's going well for me (for now, I'm sure, for now). |
re: Battlefield Talk
I really enjoyed playing Sunday night with you all. That was the first time I'd ever played where every squad member was talking and working at the same objective. What a difference.
For all the people that are not liking BF3 as much as the previous games, all I can say is stick with it. I kind of felt the same way at first. I couldn't see the enemies as well, the flashlights and lighting were driving me nuts, etc, etc. There's definitley a learning curve at first. Now that I'm used to it, I think the game is incredible. Best Battlefield game I've played, IMO. Although I still can't spot the enemies fast enough, and the flashlights still drive me nuts. |

@ dogmatica
Browsing stats graphics for post 2. It's tough to find one that captures all of the essentials, which are IMO: Rank Favorite Class Favorite Weapon Dogtags W/L Top Player Top Squad This one is pretty clean: http://g.bf3stats.com/ps3/OSpHQ4Dc/frizby.png |

Give it time. I'll make the argument that this is better than BC2 - especially once you run with a full squad. but you are a douche and a COD sucker, he is never going to take your word for it. |
re: Battlefield Talk
This Battlelog Report shows the results of one of my favorite games so far. KTown, Ogs, Octo, and I went in as a full squad and got put on separate teams for balancing (whatever). It was KTown's first night playing and he did really well, just the two of us in our squad. Octo told me he offered to quit... until Ogs said, "OR! We could try to get your brother's dogtags..." Which they tried to do to no avail. In fact, the way I finally died in my 11-1 kill streak was when I heard Ogs try to knife me from behind but I turned around and shot him, then lit up Octo but not enough and he finally took me down. It was like the last minute of the game and it was awesome. I haven't had my brother riddle my corpse with bullets that much since he was 11 and we were playing Goldeneye on N64.

re: Battlefield Talk
Speaking of the arbitrary rivalry between COD / BF...
I think it's pretty snarky of EA that the tagline for BF3 is "Battlefield 3 - Above and Beyond the Call." I'm waiting for Activision to come back with "Call of Duty: Modern Warefare 3 - Dominate the Battlefield." |
re: Battlefield Talk
EA/Dice has tried to make this a rivalry. - CoD could care less.
|
re: Battlefield Talk
Good God I suck. At first I was doing ok then I just started to getting spawn killed and losing every face to face battle. WTF! Seems harder than BFBC2
