Also, the 3DS always had the promise of Nintendo's titles eventually coming even when it was sucking. We know there will be more good stuff on Vita eventually but Japanese gamers want to see trailers and commercials now.

All I know is that I've barely touched my 3DS since I got the Vita. It's superior to the 3DS in every possible way, except lagging in the software department right now. Still, I'd rather play a PS3 port on the Vita than tackle the awkward hand gymnastics that are required for Kid Icarus' ground controls.

Having a problem with my vita. It ran out of battery and after i recharged it it wont turn on. It comes on with the blue light, then it blinks and goes away. I've read to hold down the power button for 30 seconds to bring up a debug menu but it doesnt work. Also notice that somehow there looks like a crack on what i think is the actual screen underneath the glass. None of the glass is cracked but you can clearly see a line at the top of the screen looking like a crack. Not sure how it got there as i havent dropped the system.

If holding the Power button doesn't help, I'd call Sony at 800-345-SONY (7669) and see if they can help.

Hopefully this means support is incoming, I was about to lose faith in sony.

Man, once PSOne support finally comes, I'm going to need another memory card. I have a ton of PS1 games on the service thanks to PS Plus. And SotN is a freebie next week.

I'm really loving Super Stardust Delta. Not sure I really needed the DLC bundle, since all the meat of the game is in the base, but man that base game is solid, solid, solid. One of the best pick-up-and-play portable games ever.
I tried the extensive demo of Star Drone. It's cheap enough to buy, but not sure if I like it enough to buy it yet. I might just wait to see if it ends up being a PS Plus freebie someday...

Will we be able to download PSone games that we already have in our PSN account from the PS3?

I've been dreaming ever since they came out to have the first the Resident Evils on some sort of handheld. Can't wait to get them. Although 1 hasn't aged well and I've played it so many times I may just stick with 2 and 3. Also cant wait to play Dino Crisis 1 and 2 since i never played them, Valkyrie Profile, and FF7 since i never played it.

Assuming it's the same PSN account, sure. I've brought over several previous PSP game purchases onto the Vita already.
One slight caveat though : you'll have to re-download the games. For whatever reason, the Vita can only transfer games and info that's been downloaded to the PS3 but not yet installed -- it only recognizes files that are still in those "bubbles".

Well, that's only because the "unsupported" psp games games aren't officially on the store yet. When they add the ps1 classics to the store you won't have to do all of that.

I want PS One support too (mainly because of the dearth of software), but you've been able to play PSOne games on the go for years now via the original PSP...

Heads-up : Best Buy is selling Mortal Kombat Vita for $29.99 through Monday. It's apparently a very competent port. I'm considering picking it up even though I already own the game (and extra characters) on the 360.

Wal-mart dropped the price on Little Deviants, WipeOut 2048, and Hot Shots Golf World Invitational to $19.96

Looks like it's time for Hot Shots Golf then.

WipEout is a really good looking game, BTW. Was supposed to have free DLC for owners of WipEout Fury, but it's still not out.

Anyone else picking up Resistance Burning Skies next Tuesday?

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/U-plUxwQcls?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Pre-ordering nets you the following:
- Multiplayer Booster: Get a jump on the competition by starting at level 5 in Multiplayer, allowing you to unlock the first tier of weapon customization options.
- 3 Avatars: Show off your favorite Resistance character with this pack of 3 character avatars. Includes Riley, Ellie, and a fearsome Chimera.
- Vita Lock Screen Theme: Customize your PS Vita lock screen with this Resistance theme.

I'm assuming all "first run" retail editions will include the codes since it's listed at Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop, and Wal-Mart. Bestbuy.com, and Amazon.com say the codes will be emailed to you though, so who knows.

re: Official PS Vita / PlayStation TV Thread

I'd never pre-order a game like that without seeing some reviews first. New Developer + New System = too much that could go wrong. It's not worth the risk even if the pre-order bonuses were good, and they look to be nothing special here.

FWIW : The game will be $34.95 at Fry's at least Tues-Thurs next week.

So Amazon, Best Buy and Target all offer a $50 gift card with a Vita purchase this week. First sign of a price drop in the near future?

Decker 06-10-12 03:37 PM

re: Official PS Vita / PlayStation TV Thread

Anyone else try the Gravity Rush demo? It was over very quickly, but it was unique enough for me to keep my $30 pre-order. Looks to be pretty cool, but also a little sparse; sort of reminded me of the PSP Kingdom Hearts game as well as some other PSP action RPG games -- not bad, but nothing too memorable either. I'll post some impressions once I get my copy.

And yeah, $50 gift card with $250 Vita purchase seems like a good deal now.

The Sony president just gave an interview a few days ago where he said there were no plans for a price drop in the near future. It seems like E3 would've been the place to announce it if they did have any plans of doing so. The $50 credit is almost enough to get me to bite. The only thing holding me back is the fact that you have to buy the memory card separately. That just frustrates me so much that I can't seem to pull the trigger on buying one.

dsa_shea 06-10-12 04:05 PM

re: Official PS Vita / PlayStation TV Thread

I thought that both releases of the Vita have some sort of memory card with it. The standard version doesn't come with one. I know that the 3G version that I bought came with a 4gb card.

Amazon now has the Vita for 237.99 and a 50 dollar credit or 289.57 for the 3G version with a 50 dollar credit.
