re: Official PS Vita / PlayStation TV Thread
I wasn't feeling the controls (either version) last night playing around in the track/playground area. I have problems with real RC cars too, going the wrong way when the car isn't facing away from me. I'll try it some more tonight and see if I can get a better handle on the controls.

re: Official PS Vita / PlayStation TV Thread
Went ahead and got a Vita with a 16GB card. Had some Reward Zone credit, and BB has 6 months no interest, so figured what the heck. I traded in my PSP at Amazon, should get credit for that by early next week, then I'll pick up some accessories.
The only games I have so far are Motorstorm, of course, (can't turn down free) and Escape Plan. I agree that the controls for Motorstorm are "wonky", but I haven't played it much. Escape Plan is cool, but I haven't put much time into it yet either. My 9 year old niece and nephew are spending the night Friday night, and I'm a little worried since I don't have a case or a screen protector yet. My nephew's been dying to check out a Vita, so of course I'll let him play with it. They're pretty careful with their 3DS's, so it should be OK. |
re: Official PS Vita / PlayStation TV Thread
So apparently the Metal Gear Solid HD collection is coming to Vita. WITHOUT Peace walker. How in the hell do you release a collection for a handheld and not include the game from another handheld when it was on the ps3 version?
I know they are doing it just so that people are forced to spend 20 bucks on peace walker psp version to play on vita. Pretty damn shady Konami. |

Did they replace it with something else? (Like the first game that came out on PS1/Gamecube)
If not, that's not much of a collection if it's just 2 & 3 That reminds me: does the Vita support analog control for PSOne games? I never understood why the emulator in the PSP didn't. Granted, not many games used it, but for those that did it was often beneficial. MGS supported it but didn't really rely on it, IIRC. |

I doubt it, because you can buy that one from PSN.

I didn't think it was the filter, I thought it was the (perverted) mod.

re: Official PS Vita / PlayStation TV Thread
I got my Vita on Friday with the 25 dollar gift card offer from Toys R Us. I turned around and bought the starter kit the next day. I'm very impressed with the system so far but hope they continue to integrate more apps to it as well as throw us a free game from time to time for those Plus members. So far I have: The Show 12, Hot Shots Golf, Marvel vs Capcom 3, Rayman Origins and Unit 13.

re: Official PS Vita / PlayStation TV Thread
Anyone else having problems with NEAR now? I looked online and some other forums have member with the same problem as me -- NEAR will obtain location info then sends me a "An Error Has Occurred" message. Sucks and I can't fix it, even with a hard restart.
BTW : shea, let us know what you think of Unit 13 and The Show 12. I think you're the first one here with either of those two games. |
re: Official PS Vita / PlayStation TV Thread
A member of the forum posted in The Show 12 thread --- he's overall happy with it.

The Show kicks ass in my opinion. I haven't played Unit 13 yet.

re: Official PS Vita / PlayStation TV Thread
PS Plus members : There is some free and discounted DLC for RC Motorstorm on the PSN store, but you have to go to the PSN Store on the PS3 to find the discount/free stuff. It shows regular price on the Vita. No idea why that is.

re: Official PS Vita / PlayStation TV Thread
I picked up the wifi model with the 16GB card on monday, along with Uncharted and Lumines.
Uncharted is pretty solid, but I'm not blown away by it. It has integrated all of the Vita's features (touch screen, rear touch, tilt, etc.) but their use is optional and I prefer to not use them. Lumines, on the other hand, ho-ly shit! I'm hooked. I knew nothing about this game other than some positive word of mouth on a couple of podcasts I listen to. Ended up with some spare gift cards to use so I decided to take the chance. I'm so glad I did because this game is really fun. |

re: Official PS Vita / PlayStation TV Thread
How do you do a system reset for future reference. Mine will occasionaly when running around town say I've went from being locally to Houston, TX, traveling 1400 miles in 5 min.

re: Official PS Vita / PlayStation TV Thread
Under System Settings, there's a Format option. You select that. They'll ask you if you want to format your memory card. Be sure to select "No" for that one, or just remove the card to be safe if you like.
It turns out that while NEAR will launch now, it still won't work since its convinced I am not sharing my Online ID no matter what my settings actually are. Guess I have to call Sony again. There's something seriously wrong with NEAR. I see issues all over the net about it. |
re: Official PS Vita / PlayStation TV Thread
So, it's been a month. What are people's impressions of the system now? I'm really liking it still. It's so nice to be able to play a real full game at work during my lunch break. I just cart around that travel pouch to and from work. I look forward to my upcoming trip to play some on the go. Think I'm going to spring for the SSD Bundle. I love that demo -- they did a great job porting the PSN game to the Vita.
