Yep which is why it's so hard to stop using the bow. In my sad-sack attempt to level up my one-handed skill I now use the weakest arrow I have which typically paralyzes the enemy without killing them then I close and bash their head in with a soul-catching mace.

Apparently the new update has been crashing the game on PS3 if you go into water. The temporary solution is to delete the game data and reinstall that and the patch.

I just came in here to post that video. Pretty amusing.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011
I'm amazed nobody raced in here to post about the upcoming Kinect support update. At first I thought it was a really late April Fools Day joke. Seems legit after some research. I won't be using it for shouts but it will be awesome to have for controlling your follower and switching weapons.

I just started playing this game, and now I want to buy a Kinect just for this.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011
There's a "Kinect for Windows" product, but I don't think it works with any game releases like this (yet). Seems to be more of a dev tool. Maybe somebody else here knows more about it.
Anyway, for those waiting for news on expansions, they made the first official post-game mention of such along with the Kinect announcement:

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011
Does anyone else's game freeze up a lot? I play this game about 3-4 times a week and almost every time after 2-3 hours of playing it freezes up. On one hand it's frustrating, on the other it's like the game is forcing me to go to bed.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011
I played the game for close to 200 hours and it only froze twice on me (PS3). HUGE improvement from the Fallout games. Also, I didn't start playing until after the 1.4 patch was released.
Almost all the things I've read about freezing issues (on consoles anyway) was to delete the game data, and let it reinstall. It installs the latest patch data first, and then installs the on-disc game data second. The game seems to be more stable when installed that way. |
Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011
does anyone know when they are doing new dlc for this?

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011
Supposedly the DLC will be announced this month according to some of the rumors. Hopefully it's as good as Shivering Isles was.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011
Anyone check out the interactive Skyrim iPad app from IGN? It seems pretty usefull for quick references and is free for a "limited time". Worth checking out.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011
Hopefully it'll be out early in the summer since, from now until the fall, there's absolutely nothing coming out that I want, and this will fill that gap nicely.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011
Did the Kinect update come up yet?
