Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011
I have no idea which quest you're talking about, so maybe there's a reason this won't work, but it won't stop me from offering this answer: invisibility potion.

I don't remember having any issues with that quest. After the bar guy helps you get in the back room, I just killed everyone I ran across who attacked me first.

That has to be a bug, because you are not suppose to have any followers. Maybe I'll go grab barbas

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011
I still haven't purchased this yet, but was planning to soon because the price has come down slightly. But there have been a lot of recent reviews on Amazon saying this game is glitched severely to the point of unplayable.
Is this true? I have a PS3, and do not want to put up with spending hours on a fun game and then have it be unplayable in the second half. |
Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011
If the game were unplayable, it wouldn't have become a smash success. That said, I've been declining the most recent patch on Xbox due to reported problems (as have many others).

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011
The PC version is very buggy (in my experience). I haven't heard of too many issues from console players other than random quirks that don't effect anything.
If it weren't for the console commands you can use on PC, the main story would have been glitched on me very early on. I still can't/will never be able to buy the house in Windhelm. |

I didn't realize that had come out yet. Thanks for the heads up!

Not the best lightshow but it was still well done. |
Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011
is there a way to tell what level your follower is?
i think i read that the follower is the same level as you when you first meet him? rather than we he joins you? That would really suck. It means you will always need to find a new follower. I am using Uthgard and she dies very easily now and many times it is a permanent death causing me to reload. |

So yeah that sucks, Uthgard should not die, unless you accidently kill them..or they get a Huge Poison DoT on them and they die. |
Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011
For backstabbing:
Do you have to have a back stab perk? Or just do a power attack? And how do you do a power attack. i know, noob questions |
Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011
Backstabbing will do more damage by default but not to the extent you can get it to with perks and armor. To do a power attack, hold down the attack button rather than pressing it. Using the Assassin's Blade perk with the Shrouded Gloves or Hand Wraps makes the game real easy with a dagger if your sneak is decent.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011
Ahhh so I do need perks to do the crazy BS.
|
Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011
Yeah, it's the one that gives you 15x with daggers. That alone is pretty crazy; add the Shrouded Gloves and you'll be one-hitting pretty much anything you can sneak up to from behind. It's the only way I can take out Forsworn Briarhearts. Those guys mess me up if I can't take them out with a sneak attack.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011
I don't think you have to do a power attack. That perk + the shrouded gloves gives you 30x damage with daggers on any backstab attack, power or regular (unless I'm not remember the perk correctly). Or you could use the Shrouded Hand Wraps for 30x on any sneak attack instead of only backstabs. I usually do power attacks just for the throat slit animation.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011
So is this a bug? After I get barbas I literally can not go into sneak mode (ls) button on Xbox? Is this just a glitch?
|
Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011
I believe if you have a follower with you the sneak mode won't work. Try without barbas and see it that help.
