Re: Dead Thread Redemption: Red Dead Redemption, The Thread: Part II

Game Informer says it is about a 7 hour quest for Undead Nightmare Pack, which is terrific. a little repetitive in terms of similar quests, but overall very fun and more of same stellar gameplay as the game.

Re: Dead Thread Redemption: Red Dead Redemption, The Thread: Part II

So if I buy the Undead Nightmare combo pack (which has Undead Nightmare, Legends and Killers, and Liars and Cheats for 1600pts), I basically get three DLCs for the price of two? Is this a pricing mistake or just a reward/incentive for people who have held off buying the other two?

Re: Dead Thread Redemption: Red Dead Redemption, The Thread: Part II

It's closer to a reward, I guess. It's the norm. Early adopters pay the highest premium whether it's a direct discount on the DLC or a compilation disc / GOTY edition later.

I was going to get these packs via the retail disc when it went on sale, but this is good enough for me. Especially since it's immediate AND qualifies for that XBL rebate.

Undead Nightmare is basically a whole different game. Fun so far they've opened up some buildings you don't get to see in the regular RDR.

Looks like I won't be playing it tonight. It's been downloading for 2 hours and it's only at 8%.

Didn't Rockstar say from the outset that there'd be 5 or 6 major DLC releases?

I believe so. We're up to 4 (5 if you count the extra costumes) right now.

We have everything they announced in August(?). I'm not sure if you count the free co-op pack or, like Boba said, the hunting pack.

Either way, I'm not holding my breath for more, but if they do have more, I'll be ok with the deal on got on everything so far.

It's pretty darn awesome that they gave PSN+ a $2 discount on each of the RDR packs... including Undead Nightmare.

I installed it and loaded up the single player but then turned it off before the gameplay. The video was pretty cool and the map/weapons/challenges in the undead world look like a good time killer. I usually avoid zombie games since I wig out when I get surrounded and can't keep up with the onslaught.

Anyway, I saw in mp there is an onslaught game which I didn't play but I think it's team based although not certain. I'll definitely get on tonight to give it a whirl.

When is the actual disc version supposed to come out?
I never finished the original game, so I will probably just wait and get the disc.

Unless you'd rather just have the disc, or you're going to wait for the disc to be discounted, waiting for the disc doesn't save you any money. $30, the same price as the 3 DLC packs it contains. And since they're supposedly offering all 3 packs as DLC for $20 now (though I didn't thatt on PSN last night), it actually is cheaper to download them now.

Re: Dead Thread Redemption: Red Dead Redemption, The Thread: Part II

Hell. I had Undead Nightmare, the Doors free DLC for RB3, Hot Pursuit demo and the first RDR pack I never picked up in the download queue last night. That only took two hours. Then I had to figure out the PS3 Rock Band export... that never ended up working. So yeah, I never actually got to play anything last night.

10/10 @ IGN
9/10 @ VideoGamer

Both can be summed up:
Closing Comments
Undead Nightmare is what downloadable content should be -- a lot of bang for your buck. There's a whole lot of new here: a 6+ hour single-player campaign, two multiplayer modes, two outfits, side missions, weapons, mounts, etc. It's clear that Rockstar didn't skimp on this package, and priced at a cool $10 or 800 Microsoft points, neither should you. There's a lot of fun to be had in this light-hearted version of the West, so if you're craving a well-polished zombie-filled package of fun, here it is.

Re: Dead Thread Redemption: Red Dead Redemption, The Thread: Part II

Who's up for some double XP grinding Sunday night? I presume we can do such things in online Undead Nightmare.

I'll be in Boston for the rest of the weekend. So Sunday night's it for me and the double XP.

Undead Nightmare is very fun...however, this has frozen/crashed 4 or 5 times on me. Very frustrating when your trying to get it done.
