Re: Dead Thread Redemption: Red Dead Redemption, The Thread: Part II

Expert Hunter:
■Scrap 1: Harvest 5000 lbs of meat
■Scrap 2: Kill a cougar with a stick of Dynamite
■Scrap 3: Kill and skin 8 snakes
■Scrap 4: Kill the Legendary Jackalope
■Scrap 5: Complete "Deadalus and Son" Stranger's task

Savvy Merchant:
■Scrap 1: Win $1000 total from Gambling
■Scrap 2: Buy or sell item at every Gunsmith
■Scrap 3: Gather $200 worth of herbs
■Scrap 4: Execute 20 people
■Scrap 5: Complete "The Prohibitionist" Stranger's Task

all seem pretty doable and kinda easy. i assume some of these will already be unlocked with the normal progression from the single player campaign.

Re: Dead Thread Redemption: Red Dead Redemption, The Thread: Part II

I've done all those except scrap 3 on the Expert Hunter due to the simple fact that I've only come across one snake out of all the time I've spent in single player.

They are easy to miss. Turn off the music and listen for the rattle. They are everywhere.

I think I need I only need:

Expert Hunter:
■Scrap 2: Kill a cougar with a stick of Dynamite
■Scrap 4: Kill the Legendary Jackalope

and

Savvy Merchant:
■Scrap 4: Execute 20 people (which seems like and odd thing to have a savvy merchant do)

Ever been riding a horse just to have it fall dead while running through the brush?

Oh come on now. They are everywhere. Isn't there a challenge where you have to collect snake skin already?

If you haven't come across twelve dozen snakes, I'll eat my shoe. The only explanation is that you think the "rattle" is part of the soundtrack.

Re: Dead Thread Redemption: Red Dead Redemption, The Thread: Part II

All the DLC up-to-and-including Red Undead Redemption will be bundled on a retail disc: http://www.vg247.com/2010/10/14/rdr-...nd-alone-disc/

Also coming soon, Undead Nightmare which is a single, stand-alone disc bundling together the Undead Nightmare Pack, the Outlaws to the End Co-Op Mission Pack, the Legends and Killers Pack, the Liars and Cheats Pack and all the Multiplayer Free Roam modes released to date.

The disc also includes additional multiplayer via the new Graveyard Mode. It’s a survival mode where “waves of infected enemies attack” and players must work together to stay alive against increasingly difficult odds.

Sounds a bit like Undead Overrun.

Undead Nightmare will be available at retail stores everywhere for $29.99/£24.99/€29.99 and does not require a copy of Red Dead Redemption to play. No date yet, just “coming soon”.

Do you have the Poker Ace trophy yet? That's the only one that concerns me as far as 100%ing this thing. I'm still at level 40, but I know I'll eventually get to 50, even if it's not until the end of the month when we most likely have another double XP weekend. I'm pretty sure I'll need help to get the poker ace trophy, and while help is very welcome in grinding, it's not completely necessary.

Congrats. There's only so much grinding I can do in one sitting. I got myself up to 46 yesterday after 20 or so runs through Solomon's and called it a day. Plus on two consecutive runs I had my kill-streak going until the very last dude. I'd shoot him from a distance and he'd fall down behind the fucking rock or barrel and I couldn't get to his ass in time to finish him off. Arrrggh.

I went back to Batman to work on the last of the Riddler puzzles I hadn't found before giving it a second go on Hard. I'll probably just keep trying for one level per day on RDR. I think I can handle that.

If anyone is around this afternoon 'bout 1pm EST, I'd love some help.

I'll still play with you guys to help you grind. I was just glad that I was able to finish the Plat on my birthday of all days. I am definitely down to get the Poker Ace trophy and us 4 (Cruz, Flip and Cactus) need to get together and make a run on the advanced co-op missions trophies.

Answering my own question from above the DLC takes place in the same time period as the

Spoiler:
Homestead

Mission. Not sure if it's considered "canon" or "alternate universe".

I'm actually surprised they are re-using characters from the main game, considering that the GTAIV DLC were both stand-alone storylines.

Red Dead Undead Nightmare's Four Horses Ride Out

Red Dead Redemption's Undead Nightmare might be reaching critical mass as far as screens and coverage has been concerned lately, but we just had to bring this latest batch of images to your attention, as they reveal the game's Four Horses of the Apocalypse.

Yep. You read that right. Undead Nightmare will not only introduce a standard zombie horse to tear down the dusty trails with in the infected open-world, but Marston will also be able to tame and ride the Four Horses if he happens to find them roaming in the wilderness. It looks like these horses from Hell will be tough to wrangle though...

Each horse has a special power, making them especially enticing to track down. Death can explode any zombified heads that he comes into contact with; Famine attracts a swarm of insects and has inexhaustible stamina; Pestilence is a disgusting horse with open sores and bleeding eyes, but has a high pain threshold; and finally, War creates a blazing trail of fire wherever he goes, setting zombies alight as he gallops across the open plains.

How does the money for mp work (a la poker and lair's dice)? I lost most of it playing poker and went to earn more in free roam, but the $$ I earned didn't seem to come with me when I tried to play poker. Not sure if it wasn't saving the fact that I'd earned money or what. Anyone know how it works or if I have to get to a special save point to use the money? Shit ain't right.

just read this on rockstar's site:

One of the most fan-requested features comes to Red Dead Redemption multiplayer. Anywhere from 2-6 players can compete in a variety on different locations, and all players begin with a $200 daily gambling allowance. Once you run out, you will have to wait until the next day before your funds are replenished.

I think the only way to get more money is to earn it by playing. Otherwise, it will give you another $200 the next day (real time) if you don't have enough for a buy in and it has been 24 hours since your last stipend.
