I know, it really does. And yet the "extras" aren't included, so is the "special edition" worth it?

Right. At least with Spiderman, for example, you get 3 DLCs spread over 3 months. Here, for the same extra $20, you get ONE extra mission, and then just a horse, outfit, and some other crap. Think I'll pass on this "Special Edition" and will just look forward to the game itself.

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2 —> 10/26/18

Now that they have officially mentioned that the online portion of the game will be released a month or so later....it has me assuming they're following the GTAO formula - I'm not going to get into bashing it for being garbage on launch (although again, a broken game you paid money for should NEVER be acceptable but for some reason it is - you can't even make an argument for GTA V single player working well because that too was broken and STILL is!) but it does have me assuming that the shark card system they use this time out will be an even bigger rip off than in GTA online - definitely hope I'm wrong.

It's also cool that you have the option to play the entire game in first person mode as well and I'm hoping they do a better job this time out than they did in GTA V - my eyes couldn't take it in GTA V.

https://www.ign.com/articles/2018/09...players-online

105 GB install file before you can actually play the game.

That’s like a 7-8 hour download on my internet speed. Ughhh.

Apparently you can eat too much and get fat in this game.

And dead bodies decompose over time instead of disappearing! Useful with hunting scavengers.

I swear, there's a market for Gamestop or someone to have download kiosks. You walk in with your hard drive or a USB stick, download from their local cache, go home and plug it in.

Save bandwidth and time for a nominal fee.

Only if you can figure out how to make them preowned downloads will they do that ...

Well, if Sony had not janked the Pro by not putting in a 4K drive, they could offer the games on the bigger capacity discs. They could also release the game with two install discs. To make us download so much to even play the game on day one is quite absurd.

Moving to UHD wouldn't make since because there are still regular PS4 owners that they would need to support and they would need to sell two SKUs.

Also, from what I can tell all that's been reported from the PS4 Pro box is that the install size on disc is 105 GB. There hasn't been any word from what I understand about the size of the download if buying digitally or any day 0 or day 1 download requirements after the initial disc install.

Or am I misreading the article that was linked?

How many discs are we talking about here for the physical release? 2 or 3? Or is most of it going to be d/led online after you install the game? I can't recall installing a disc game larger than 50GB before.

That is the question. Most likely Rockstar will give us one disc and say good luck, while the toadies smile with glee and purchase more shark cards while downloading the other nearly 60 gigs of game data. Just put most of it on two discs and make the first disc the app starter.

Jeeze, guess I have a month to finish some games and delete them off my PS4's hard-drive to make some space for this. I figured upgrading to a 2TB drive would solve this problem, but these game programmers seem to be getting lazy with data compression.

No one knows yet, for some reason people are just making assumptions.

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2 —> 10/26/18

If you look at a pic of the case that is slightly angled, it looks like a slightly thicker PS4 game case that would allow for two discs. I am guessing that this is what it will be. I wish they would just simply say that this is what is going to happen.

They can easily fit 2 discs in a regular case with one slot on each side. This picture looks like one of the fat cases used for TV shows.

"Only" at Gamestop? What the fuck does that mean? Only Gamestop carries that game? Only GS has those editions? Only GS allows preorders? What is this fuckery?

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2 —> 10/26/18

The UE has been a GS exclusive since it was announced. It's the $100 steelbook edition.

And I still don't see this as a two disc release. With day 1 patches nowadays, I could just see them slapping an internet required note on the back of the box to download the remaining gigs. Hell, I believe Destiny 2 Forsaken was over 100 gigs as well. They just used the original disc and put a code in the box for the remaining content.

The SE and UE editions are not GS exclusives. They're both for sale (digital versions) on Amazon.

Amazon Amazon

I pre-ordered the digital "special edition" version.

Yes. Only the physical version of the UE, with a Steelbook, is a Game Stop exclusive. You can get a digital version anywhere.

as do i. can't wait. i think the War Horse perk and some of the guns, also that dead shot outfit was great for deadshot, which is all I used afterall. really helped me a lot in first game. nice to see that back with SE...

I don't believe any news of that has leaked. Only thing mentioned is the play area is RockStar's largest ever.

Official Gameplay video 2 will be released tomorrow morning.
