I played Rock Lobster with a buddy last night. Him on expert guitar, me on expert standard keys. There was a period of what felt like 5 minutes at the end where I just watched him :lol:

Even the chords on standard keys throw me for a loop but I did end up gold starring a few songs.

The RB3 cymbals are quieter and angled, but either RB2 or 3 ones work. I saw the cymbals at Best Buy last night.

The gamestop.com in-store-availability thing made it sound like I'd have to make a thirty-something mile roundtrip to pick any up, but they had one set at the store in the mall anyway.

I have the RB2 cymbals already, but I hate how rigid they are -- doesn't have that satisfying 'give' I get with real cymbals -- so I'm looking forward to giving these updated ones a shot.

The new cymbals are supposed to be quieter. But the old ones or the new set will work with Pro Drums as long as you have a RB2 or later kit.

So, I don't see the Doors pack on xbox.com.....wtf? I got the free pack from the in game store, but shouldn't we be able to use xbox.com still for others?

I think the 9 pack is also in-game store-only, since it's going to be replaced next week by the more expensive 12 pack.

Thanks for the responses! :up: I'll just keep my eyes open. Had an in-store pickup at one Best Buy yesterday, and should have waited for the confirmation (I know, I was one of those people that ignored the part of the email that says "don't go to the store yet"). After a half hour of searching by 2-3 employees, they couldn't find any.

I have another in-store pickup at a different location today. Keeping my fingers crossed...

is there a way to kick another controller out of action? whenever I switch instruments, I forget to Drop-off before I power down the controller, and its a PITA to power back up just to drop out.

Yeah, you can just "switch to" a profile and it will automagically move that profile to whatever instrument you are switching to. Is that what you meant?

I don't think that's quite what I want. say, I'm playing drums, I turn it off, move it into the other room, and then turn on the guitar. My drummer is still in the band, and the only way I can get him to leave is to turn the drums back on and "Drop Out".

also, did I miss when we bitched about All Instrument Mode?

I told him I expected he Gold Star Crazy Train on Pro-Guitar by tomorrow, but he gave up. I am blaming you guys for hounding him for not being #1 on the leaderboards.

I am pretty sure that this morning I was using the controller (in essence, vocals) and I switched to my drums by simply turning off the controller, and once I did that, it removed vocals from my band automatically.

I like karaoke mode, but being forced into it for AIM pretty much sucks.
