My Amazon pre-order for the PS3 Keyboard shipped on Tuesday for $79.53...and I get it today and the price is already down to $76.99. >_>

Well I spent like an hour playing Pro Keys on medium. I can do some of the stuff that keeps the keys grouped together fairly close and either just single keys, or matching colors (black/white). Beyond that though I just blow.

One huge gripe I have is the number of songs that only have key parts for just the choruses or verses. It's really lame on those ones, where I only get to play for about 10-15 seconds every minute, and then miss every note. The learning curve is just too steep, and I've found that the tiering often doesn't even make sense at the lower difficulties.

Learning this instrument is way more frustrating than any other "fake" instrument so far. Going for 20-30 seconds and missing EVERY note just makes me want to throw this fucking keyboard out of my window. So yeah, I dunno, I'll keep at it, but I don't think it's in me.

I put the game and keyboard into my cart and went to check out, but the $20 discount (that I had used and they cancelled) didn't show up. I contacted Amazon customer service through the chat option and after 30 minutes of explaining what happened they finally came back and said the promotion had expired and they wouldn't reissue it, at that point I lost my cool. Right after that I started using some "colorful" language and the customer service guy came up with a $20 discount for me. This pissed me off even more that they wouldn't offer this to me right off the bat, but I kept my cool with him. Now i'm about to call them and bitch to the higher ups.

I got the same email, and I have the same problem, I'm missing a $20 promotional credit (from GD:RB). That was the reason why I didn't want to cancel and re-order earlier, like some others already did, I was afraid of losing that credit, since it's expired.

I just fired them off a nasty gram.

Just what I'd expect Bobby Kotick to say if he were posing as a Harmonix fanboy! We're onto you, Bobby K!

On Monday night, me and a couple friends are picking the game up at a midnight Gamestop and then proceeding to rock the night away.

We all want to play together obviously but it would be nice to keep all the progress we make together when we each go home and play by ourselves. Since there is only one band per profile, should each of us make our own band and character on our own profile memory stick before we play together? How does tracking progess work, are you able to "mash" different bands/profiles together for your band that night or will they need to make a character for the band we use Monday night, and then just recreate everything when they start on their own. And if thats the case, will their progression (scores, road challenges, and achievement progress) move with their profile?

Anyone that have a game shed some light on this?......hopefully I made sense.

Keep in mind that the 360 only supports 2 usb memory sticks at once.

Gotta love when they add limitations instead of features.

Still looking forward to RB3 very much though.

I have noticed via my Friends List, that your status actually shows what instrument you're playing. <img src="http://images.dvdtalk.com/images/smilies/thumpsup.gif" height=50 width=50/>

Just got Ions. They're amazing! With how into drumming I'm going to be for the next few months, spending so much on these, and your review I think I'm going to switch to just buying the disc only.

Does anyone know if I can transfer a preorder for the bundle to the disc only at Gamespot? If not I'll just eat the $5. I'll pick up a keyboard later on.

Easy is too damn easy, just like easy on any other instrument. I was 3-starring most of the songs I tried on Medium, but it was just a few that did multiple keys at once and quickly that gave me trouble. "Oh My God", "Crosstown Traffic", and "Get Up (Stand Up)" come to mind. The other 5-6 songs I tried I did okay with.

Damn, I don't want to talk anyone out of getting the bundle. I still say it's worth getting if you have any interest at all in the keyboard. Although, if you think the drums will keep you busy for a few months, I'm sure you will be able to find a used one for cheap by then.

I think the RB2 setlist is one of the weakest of all the music games, but "vast majority" is still disappointing.

He says two different things. First he says all songs, then he says vast majority.

Joystiq Review

To put it less mathematically: Rock Band 3 is the greatest rhythm game ever made, and quite possibly the only rhythm game you need to own.

You can't get much more of a vast majority than all.

Well, my email to amazon about my missing promo credit went nowhere. The guy who responded was feeding me some canned answer about how my credit card is never charged until the item is shipped, which of course isn't what I asked. So I had to call them, but the person I spoke to on the phone was very helpful and issued the credit right away. Actually, now i'm coming out about 14 bucks ahead of where i was before, because the price on the keyboard has dropped to 76.99, and in addition the the $10 credit they gave me, I had another $10 credit which I had earned since I placed the RB3 order (for Kingdom Hearts: BBS) that I was now able to use on this order.

Only problem is that I'm not getting release date delivery as an available option for the game (It was there when I tried to place the order yesterday), and it says expected date of delivery as Oct 29, even with 2 day delivery. WTF???

The keyboard says Oct 26 with 2 day delivery.

Man, I hope my Dell order comes in the first week. I'll be pissed if I miss out on getting those free tracks because I wanted to get the bundle for cheaper. I don't mind waiting a week for my game, but missing out on freebies is a bummer.
