Damn, the new music DLC sucks and so does the old music DLC.

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution

Got my 165th GS on drums, No Woman Don't Cry.

Ordered a pintech 10" cymbal to use as hi hat and a replacement clamp so I can go back to 3 cymbals. Also ordered the classic rock track pack and vol 2 track pack which should come in tomorrow.

Going to try to buy and beat every HMX DLC this year on expert drums.

Anyone else buy 2112? I had never heard it before the first time I played it and having some trouble getting into it. I've still only beat the middle portion but think I'll be able to get through the whole thing after a few more attempts. Not really digging the song that much though and at over 20 minutes don't know how many tries I have in me.

Very YMMV, but a local Target (Boston area) had 3 of the PS3 keyboards on clearance today for $10.06 (marked 'as is' instead of the usual clearance, but never opened).

This is one of my favorite songs even from the first time that I heard it some 25 years ago. But, for Rock Band, I will probably just buy the first track separately.... "We are the priieeesssttss... of the temmmmpppllles... of syyyrrinnxxx." should be fun

If you're going to buy 1 part I'd definitely suggest getting it all. It's a good deal. For 5.50 you get the full song plus it split into three parts.

I only drum but watched my friend play it on expert guitar last night and it looked like a lot of fun. He had never heard it before rock band either and about 2/3rds of the way through the discovery said, "Wow this is a beautiful song." Just wish I felt the same

I wish they'd release it, just so I can laugh at the sales numbers.

The lack of "You Make My Dreams" is criminal, but I still might bite on these three.

Only three songs and No "You Make My Dreams Come True"? A little disappointing, but I'm still in.

Best DLC announcement in ages (I'm serious). Here's hoping for a second H&O pack in the future.

Guess it's time for me to cash in some of those Bing Rewards points for MS ones.

Say it isn't so! Not expanding the pack to at least 6 songs... HMX is so out of touch.

They are out of their mind I tell you. If I was one on one with them, their kiss would not be on my list.

Okay, that was awful.

Regardless, this is a good starter three pack. I still think of the Psych commercial when I hear Private Eyes so it should be quite the silly fun to sing it. A very good singing threefer for those who primarily dabble in that sort of thing (like me).

As a devout metal fan, I will still unashamedly buy the H&O pack.

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution

Wow...I never realized all the love for "You Make My Dreams Come True." It's a great song but I never considered it H&O's top song. Obviously others here disagree.

This pack may be what gets me to fire RB back up. Haven't played it in months. "I Can't Go For That" was the first 45 I ever paid for with my own money (I was 8 at the time). I am ashamed of the first 45 my parents bought for me as a kid. It is one of the best selling singles in history. I was only 5 at the time and remember my parents actually pressuring me to pick it at K-mart when they said they would buy me my first single (I was a rabid player of all my Dad's 45's since before I was 3).

It was

Debby Boone's - You Light Up My Life
I remember liking the the B-side better which was her cover of an ABBA tune called Hasta Manana (which I had no idea they did until many many moons later). Parents suck sometimes.

Damn straight. I've been wanting to have a RB party for years and this DLC pack is the ultimate motivator. I'll probably throw it next month. My friends really aren't gamers, but I think all of them would agree it's fun to belt out H&O songs. (I imagine the party will essentially be a karaoke one anyway.)

And on the topic of 45s, one of the first ones I bought as a kid was "Maneater".

I don't understand why people are puzzled that "You Make My Dreams" wasn't included in this batch. All three of these songs were MUCH bigger hits by far. 500 Days of Summer, notwithstanding...

I own the top pop singles Billboard book, and the top Hall & Oates singles were as follows:
1) Maneater - (4 weeks at #1, debut 10/16/82)
2) Kiss on my List - (3 weeks at #1, 1/24/81)
3) Private Eyes - (2 weeks at #1, 8/29/81)
4) Out of Touch - (2 weeks at #1, 9/24/84)
5) Rich Girl - (2 weeks at #1, 1/22/77)
6) I Can't Go For That (No Can Do) - (1 week at #1, 11/14/81)

Rounding out a top ten would include: Say It Isn't So, Everything Your Heart Desires, Sara Smile, You Make My Dreams.

Roger that. Well hopefully it'll make it into the next batch. Personally I'd love to see the entire Abandoned Luncheonette album, which would include Rich Girl, Sara Smile, and my persona fave Las Vegas Turnaround. And with that I've revealed my Yacht Rock secret proclivities...

Obscure Hall and Oates title that'd be awesome in Rock Band: Portable Radio
