Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
I wouldn't hold your breath on that 3,000 fix any time soon. There's got to be a technical reason for it. I'd love to be wrong about that, but you don't just throw arbitrary limits in there without a reason.
They may optimize something and bump it some, but I wouldn't expect a huge increase. Out of curiosity, how many songs do you have? http://www.rockband.com/songs says there's only 2,671 currently available, so it'll be June or July before 3,000 is broached (assuming RBN2 takes off soon). I'm at 741, so I have about 9 more years to worry about 3,000 ;) |
Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
I've got 1840ish. That wasn't my pic, but one I pulled from RB.com. I have a friend on my other forum that has all of the DLC (HMX & RBN). I don't think they're at 3,000 songs yet, so I'm not sure how this person got that, and I guess it could be fake. We'll have to wait and see how HMX responds when they see it on the boards tomorrow morning.
It probably does have something to do with the way they're <s>not</s> caching things. |
Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
Yeah, I wonder if Pro upgrades factor into that. Like say those add another possible "song" to the mix. So that 2,671 would have +83 from the disc itself taking it to 2,754. Now I know there isn't another 250 Pro upgrades out there, but if it's not 1:1, it could account for the maths.

If you have 3,000 DLC songs, I think you have bigger problems than that error message. ;)

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
May be, but if there was one group of customers you want to bend over backwards for, it's those that buy everything.

Careful, your rationality may anger the Internet. They'll say something soon. It's either a fake, a hard-lined rule, or something they can tweak. But, meantime, that won't stop the wailing and gnashing of teeth.

I know HMX has done some dumb stuff, but this seems like a minor, minor issue. |
Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
Trying to sell off half my blu-rays for the squire, I hope that all works out

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
Just picked up the Squier. Holy hell is it fun! Just going through the easiest songs on Easy is a blast. I love that all the songs with Pro Guitar have lessons that will teach you the main riffs for each song.

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
Selling off 70 blu-rays and like 15 games to finance this lol

FYI, I saw a 360 Mustang on Clearance at Target yesterday for something like $74.
|
Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
I played a couple songs on the Mustang yesterday to get a couple goals that are unattainable on the Squier due to HMX's awesome programming skillz.
It sucks so much ass compared to the Squier! The string sensitivity is so loose and it registered several overstrums, despite my generally "tight" playing. Also, the same thickness strings (which didn't really bother me at first) fucking suck. Hopefully HMX fixes the star-tracking bug in their next patch (which should be coming within the next couple of weeks). |

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
I bought a Squier Tuesday. I played some. It was awesome. I need to get a pick. The bottom string didn't register consistently but I think that's finger placement which is even more of a need for a pick.
|
Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
I had to adjust my Squier a lot. Take the small allen wrench that is included, and tighten/loosen those screws down on the bridge a quarter turn at a time while testing things out in practice mode to get the sensitivity you want.
And yes, a pick is absolutely required. It's pretty dumb that the Mustang comes with two and Squier comes with zero. |

I got the squire today. Stupid md won't let me play it for a month on account of breaking my arm a month ago
Haven't opened it, but I"m bummed that it doesn't look like it has a case, small complaint, but one none the less, unless there is one, in which case i look like an asshole now. Wow, this thing was ridiculously out of tune. The low E was registering as a D minor. Thank got for my trusty tuning app on my android lol |

Careful, you might lose your finger tips if you do that.

Although, I'm happy regardless. I used the 10% movers coupon from the post office and paid 270 out the door for it, which is a damn good deal. now to hope they still have the midi adapters in stock at gameshark.com in a few days when i can afford to order one lol. |
